POPSHall of Saints I pride myself on being an equal opportunity hypocrisy basher. Whether it comes from the left or the right, if it looks like BS, smells like BS, acts like BS, it is BS. Being human I sometimes make mistakes and have been guilty of passing on inaccuracies as truth. Rightly so, I have been called out on them. I appreciate those who take the time to let me know when I am wrong. However, I appreciate it even more when they are not overly combative about it. I continue to welcome their insight into things I don’t know. But not knowing something is not a crime and not possessing a desire to learn is very detrimental to survival, and not willing to learn is grossly stupid. So, I will continue to stumble through life seeking truth but I refuse to participate in the fraud that these three individual do on a daily basis.

POPSArlington Pastor Questions Speech Double Standard The Cornerstone Baptist Church wants to make sure that any youth who wants to see President Barack Obama’s address to students has a place to go. Church officials say they don’t want students "to be banned or barred from hearing and viewing this historic message to students because of the judgments and fear of some school districts.” Good for him. It seems pretty obvious who is doing the brainwashing in that school district. They are basically passing on the message that what this president says is poison, but the guy who lied to us to get us into an illegal war, besmirched America’s name by authorizing war crimes, and spent all our money, is someone worth listening to.

POPSGOP Lawmaker’s Graphic Sex-Bragging Caught On Tape Oops! Open mics can be a big problem if you’re a married family values politicians telling a pal about the kinky sex you’re having with the two women you’re cheating on your wife with. According to both KCAL and the OC Weekly, an alternative weekly in Orange County, the woman who wears the "eye-patch underwear" is Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, a lobbyist for an energy company, Sempra Energy. Duvall is vice chair of the Committee on Utilities & Commerce. According to TPM Duvall resigned: http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/09/duvall_resigns_after_sex_bragging.php

POPSGuaranteed Health Care in Iraq – But Not for U.S. According to the American political right-wing, government-guaranteed health care is good for Iraqis, but not good for us. They decry even a limited public option for us, but gleefully imposed upon the Iraqis what they label here as "socialism," with much Democratic Party member support. We have (thus far) sacrificed more blood to wrest Iraq from tyranny than we lost on 9/11. And, the total money spent in military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan is more than the funding required to guarantee minimally decent health care for U.S. citizens. The most senior members of the Republican establishment - and some Democrats like Max Baucus (D-MT) - have gladly spent more taxpayer funds to ensure health care as a Constitutional right in Iraq than they are willing to spend to give us any level of guaranteed coverage. Can someone please explain why our government favors the health care of Iraqis over its own citizens?

POPSU.S. gives Flight 93 site landowners one week to sell
The hypocrisy here is that the government is forcing these land owners to give up their property for a monument to people who gave their lives protecting US freedoms. Why the heavy-handed action when most are willing to work out a deal? I am all for honoring these victims of fate who did more than just sit in their seats and take it. They are heroes of the highest degree. Monuments are a place of pride, a physical presence where family members can mourn, remember, and actually feel they are connecting with the spirits of their loved ones. But somehow a chunk of marble just doesn’t seem to be enough of a tribute. Before long fast food restaurants and stands selling trinkets will only trivialize their memory. And how many people will visit it? How long will anyone remember? Couldn’t that $58 million be better spent elsewhere, like maybe as settlement to the victims families for our ‘caring’ governments’ lack of motivation to prevent it from happening in the first place?

POPSObama admits US involvement in Iran coup in 1953 Isn’t America supposed to be the champions of a democratic society? Is there any wonder that our blatant hypocrisy is one of the main causes of so much hatred for the U.S. in the world? I can now see why Hugo Chavez is so convinced the U.S. is planning to overthrow him. He now has confirmed history to back up his fears. The problem with ‘coming clean’ about our past is we don’t know how the victims (the democratic loving people of Iran) will react to our ‘confession’. After being lied to and being labeled as a member of the ‘Axis of Evil’, we better hope Iran can forgive. I seriously doubt they will forget.

POPSRush Limbaugh Tells Jews to Get Over the Holocaust Rush Limbaugh defended Germany for the Holocaust. Now, this would have to be Hitler’s Germany. Because modern Germany would neither condone nor sponsor another such atrocity. He will grab at anything that supports the degradation of a democrat even if he has to publicly defend one of the most psychotic, murderous personalities in history. Amazing. He must be off his meds. I truly hope that explains this. I wonder if there was ever a time in Limbaugh’s miserable life when he really believed it was best to forget history. Oh. I know one. When he was busted abusing prescription drugs after proselytizing about how drug abusers should be thrown in jail. Wouldn’t it be great if we can ignore the fact that Limbaugh ever got into broadcasting?

POPSChina blocks internet sites, services ahead of Tiananmen anniversary
This is not unexpected. The Tiananmen demonstration anniversary is June 4 and Twitter messages were encouraging people to wear white, the color of mourning, until they were suddenly blocked. For the Chinese authorities to go through this much trouble to suppress the exchange of all other non-related ideas and thoughts just to prevent anything concerning the Tiananmen Square ordeal from getting through illustrates the Chinese authorities distrust of the Chinese people. This action reminds the rest of the world just how repressive China is and for the US government to encourage its citizens to support China through trade with them while demanding, pleading for, suggesting, whimpering about, giving up on human rights reform is irresponsible. It is so futile to hang on to old ways of thought and mind control. The internet has already been let out of the box and to suppress it in this manner just illustrates how old school these people are.

POPSOprah Buys Everyone KFC meal Let’s face it. Oprah is just one, big ol’ money-sucking marketing machine. PETA crowned her "Person of the Year" which goes to show that these awards are given based on a one time event. Also, corporations (yeah, she is a corporate entity) will do something that the public perceives as ‘good’ one day and the next day do something that shows their true colors. Why not give something relatively healthy like a free salad instead?

POPSHypocrisy and the Bailout Bill Aren't Republicans supposed to be the fiscal responsible ones? I wonder if politicians ask for this money with a straight face. There must be a clause in these requests that says any excess money goes to the general fund. Earmarks for “the design and construction of a school sidewalk”, “development of an online encyclopedia”, “tattoo removal”?!? This is blatant mis appropriation of funds. The earmark system itself is not the problem. If earmarks are used to put citizens to work and to generate an income source for the benefit of the general population then I’m all for it. What we need is a method of prioritizing earmarks so that frivolous projects don’t get funded. And the system needs to be manned and monitored by civilians immune to the reach of politicians. An alternative solution would be to not tax us so much so there wouldn’t be all this excess money to support tattoo removal.
