POPSTV and Babies- not a good mix?? I BEG TO DIFFER!! i don't care what study says what..my 19 month old talks and talks and talks- her application of TV to 'real life' is remarkable! I am in shock over what she takes away from Noggin/Sprout type TV programs- and my older daughter was the same way...I thank my lucky stars for the fine people at Nick/Noggin/Sprout & Disney!

POPScold meds for toddlers- the verdic is in- Skip 'till 6 while my doc has always been a big supporter of triaminic night time cold/cough--- and there were plenty of nights i don't know what i would have done w/o it---there is now more than enough speculation for me to know it is MUCH safer to let me kids cough out colds than the possible consequences. There is now way too much speculation on this issue for me to give my kids anything but standard fever reducers (tylenol, motrin)

POPSthe scoop on children's cough medicines that are being pulled important info- this is from a very reliable source, and if you click on the source link they even offer a downloadable coupon to put towards a safe alternative-- i'm sure most parents out there, like me, have a lot of throwing away to do-- apparently children over '2' are not at risk-- sorry if these clips are getting a bit repetitive, but with child's safety---i plan on keep posting these for whoever is looking and learning!

POPSIMPORTANT: Stop the cough medicine for young chidren I've gotten these email 'forwards for years, and always thought it was one of those scammy BS type emails....i now know better. I know I've uses Triaminic a number of times on my daughter during the first 3 years of her life-- that will obviously stop now, and my younger daughter will just have to suffer through those winter time colds (and so will i with the sleepless nights that those colds bring about..) Scary stuff

POPScrocs-- the dumbest shoe on earth can't we just agree to NOT wear these stupid shoes-- and if nothing else, not put our young toddlers in them-- it's a trend i've held strong on NOT being a part of. I really think these shoes are not safe, rather ugly.. and really just a dumb parenting decision.

POPSStudy shows: Adults living with kids, eat more fat I'm not surprised by this study.. i wish i could say that i ignore my 2 yr old daughters junk/snack food in the house...even if it's just a bite out of a waffle, or a spoonful of mac n' cheese.. these are things i never would have eaten if they weren't in my home.

POPSChildren's phenom- THE WIGGLES- lead singer to quit This is big news for most people with kids under 2 years old. How sad if he's ill. I have friends that saw the Wiggles live a couple weeks ago.. and 'greg' was absent from that performance as well. My daughter (thankfully) never embraced the wiggles..

POPSFlu Vaccine for children delayed funny that i am seeing this article today-- my daughter was scheduled to get her flu shot today for at least a month...earlier this week the pediatricians office had to cancel the shot b/c they didn't get their quantity yet-- but last night i got a call saying it just came in, so my daughter was able to get hers. I hope this issue is remedied soon-- i have heard the earlier a child can be vaccinated the better.

POPSHow to train your kids to sleep my daughter has always been a pretty great sleeper-- but for a couple nights we used the 'ferber' method described in the clip. it seems kinda cruel, but it really worked.

POPSPlaying is more vital than you think-- kids need more Play! I'm such a believer in this. It really played a role in my decision as to what preschool to send my daughter to. I chose a school that really valued playtime-- and learning through play. Perhaps it's not as structured as some of the other programs-- but i feel that it's the best way for my daughter to learn and grow.

POPSBilingual babies! i wish there was someone around my daughter that spoke another language- i think it's such an amazing thing to know. She's just 2, but Dora the Explorer has taught her a decent amount of spanish-- i just wish she had more of an influece in her life to really teach her.

POPSHasbro toy recall after 2 deaths- a talkin' tool bench as a parent, i can't think of a scarier thought-- it's not enough to trust the recommended age listings on toys anymore. You are much better off using it as a loose guildline, but to personally evaluate the toys and pieces before allowing your children to play.= both boys that died from using this toy were under the recommended age.
