POPSCommission on the Status of Men died yesterday (?) Who knows the answer? The Commission is an important outlet for divorced fathers and others to bring their grievances to the state. It also provides the state legislature with vital information regarding men’s health, gender disparities in education, the impact of fatherlessness on society and many other issues important to men and their families. For five years the Commission has been starved of any funding, and the Commission will die altogether if HB 704, which authorizes its continued existence, does not get past the Senate Finance Committee with a favorable recommendation. The Finance Committee is expected to make its decision after holding a hearing on the bill this Wednesday (April 4).
