"While most of our heterosexual peers had experienced, in their teens, socialization around courtship, dating and sexuality, many of us had grown up closeted and fearful, “our most precious and tender feelings rarely validated or reflected back to us by our families and communities” I found this to be a very interesting article about gay marriage and how being closeted in American society can affect you. Imagine not being able to express your sexuality because it was not accepted by society even though it has always felt so natural to you. And I found the concept of monogamy which is addressed in this article for men, straight or gay, to be questionable for many. If men were completely honest, I don't think most of them have the potential to be in a monogamous relationship. And this isn't based on my personal experience either because my husband has been a man who chose monogamy.
