POPSEnd the 15 min Panic Law - Restore Public Space - Petition It only takes a few moments to sign, and you do not have to live here to sign, as you may wish to park here. There are only two other cities with this unconstitutional law. We need your help by telling our City Council this is wrong. It takes only a moment of your time, comments are greatly appreciated, but not required. This law affects the disabled, poor and everyone if it is not selectively enforced.

POPSSign the petition and help us restore a consitutional right! This may not be your City, but as more cities enact such laws. The more our Constitution slowly means less and less. This law limits the time you can spend, even in your own car, in a public parking lot. You get a whole 15 minutes to park and retrieve your car or bike. No resting in your car, no reading, sleeping off too much to drink. There is no crime wave in the lots. The biggest thing the City is against is a peaceful drum circle and Food Not Bombs feeding as they have for years without violence or incident. This new law is selectively enforced. These kinds of laws lead to Free Speech Zones" which sadly, we already have. You need not live here to sign. People from all over come and park here. Please take a moment and sign this petition. It takes just a few moments.

POPSEnd the Sleeping Ban the lawsuit begins Its time for this law to end. If you watch the debate I highly suggest you then listen to the highlights with commentary as the Mayor was wrong in nearly every fact and number he gave. Sleep is not a crime. In 2005 a man in a wheelchair died in front of our mayors house. NOT AGAIN. One of the lawyers explains the suit in a video at the source. A new site for the lawsuit.

POPSIndependeny Media Power vs. The Corporate Coup We now live in a country run by corporations. Its about time we take it back. Here is group bring minds together, give speeches and preach to the choir but to get together and and talk strategies. Its time Corporations end having the power to send lobbyists with pockets of cash to buy our rights from our Government. Its time we end allowing Countries to outsource jobs and reward them for it. Its time our government tells us to go out shopping to fix the economy. Its time we stop be gentle consumers and take back America before its too late.

POPSTrash Orchestra Defends the Market Drum Circle The Santa Cruz Trash Orchestra defends the Drum Circle and Food not Bombs defying the 15 min public parking lot ordinance. The next week the cops came back and wrote up many tickets. Next week they are coming back as well as many in the community to stop this madness. Do these look like terrorists to you? This law is aimed straight at the poor. There is a law for everything that can possibly happen in a public lot.

POPSPublic parking paranoia law used to disperse drummers and Food Not Bombs The Drum circle they speak of has been going on for over 10 years in the same place. Its where Food Not Bombs was feeding. They were drove away on two occasions, so were not present at this particular incident. Basically the Santa Cruz PD was successful in running of a peaceful group that was feeding the hungry on public property. This law means I cant wait in my car as a friend shops, even know I am disabled and often need to rest in my car. This law is aimed at the poor who often use the overhangs to get out of the rain. There has been no horrible acts of violence to spawn this law, which the local ACLU is against, but doing nothing about. It is another loss of our commons, that have been traditionally used hroughout history by the poor and homeless.

POPSDisabled and Seniors pressured into new bus system This may seem to you as not that relevant, but I assure you it is to the thousands of disabled who reply on public transportation to give them the freedom to get out like anyone else. This article comes from Beyond The Chronicle. An online paper that tends to show the other side of stories printed in the very bias San Jose Chronicle.
