POPSReading List: Heavy Metal Islam (Metalheads Unite!) The Video Rocks!: Lazywall - Back To The Cradle @ 10th anniversary L'Boulevard '08 21/06 at the Stade de l'Etoile, Casablanca Morocco , I hope that this has piqued your interest and you will go on to read the book. No one is saying that Metal will prove to be the saviour of World Peace ... However it is worth remembering in this context a quote from a remarkable speech by John F Kennedy in Cape Town in 1966 - "The road is strewn with many dangers....First is the danger of futility; the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the World's ills...Yet...each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring, these ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest of walls of oppression and resistance"

POPSCracked Magazine's 25 Historical Events (As Depicted by 5 Year Olds) OK, I am dating myself here but I remember Cracked Magazine as well as Mad, Crazy, Car-toons, and Plop from when I was a kid. Eventually all that was left on the magazine racks were Mad. I never even thought they may have switched to an online E-Zine or that they would be open to subscriber participation! Personally, I always thought Cracked was better than Mad any day!

POPSFeast of Fools interviews Chocolate Rain's Tay Zonday This is why I gotta love the Internet. You don't just get Tay Zonday's wacky YouTube video. You get the video, plus the online conversation around it. Turns out he's an Am Civ grad student with interesting things to say about race and GLBT issues.

POPS20 Words That Spam Filters Kill
have two choices when it comes to beating the filters. One is to avoid using these words and phrases altogether. .. hard to do second choice is to disguise these words and phrases in clever ways by inserting keyboard symbols within them and/or replacing a letter in them with a symbol. The trick is not to make it too cryptic...use "fr*ee" for free.. the points this tactic costs, penalize's you much less than using the words and phrases themselves. It's not a perfect solution. It's a great idea to test how YOUR e-zine stacks up before you send it out. The good news is you can do this for FREE. Lyris' Content Checker (http://www.lyris.com/contentchecker/) tells you how your e-zine ranks in Spam Assassin. All you do is copy your e-zine text and paste it into the box on their site..report will tell you exactly which words are costing you points. you should only be concerned if your score is over 5 points. If so, you can either delete those words or disguise them

POPSRue Morgue: Horror Writer's Dream Rue Morgue is the last magazine that is in hard copy being printed today in the US. Their e-zine sight is ok but it holds nothing to the mag itself. To get your short fiction published here as a horror writer is a very wonderful occasion... One I hope to jave again one day!
