POPSWill Tone of MSNBC Change w/Comcast Merger? I have a pretty basic Comcast package and ever since I heard people complaining that they removed the MEssNBC, I found it up on stn.#128, away from the more "regular" channels, so I'd advise one to scan their sets, you may still have it. (I can't believe I'm helping anyone find the thing;-) Anyway, I think it would be too obvious for Comcast to make it any more scarce. Maybe it's just as well to keep those nutjobs (Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow, etc.) all in one place where they think they've really got something goin' on. Otherwise who knows what kind of hell they'd raise with their whining.

POPSCulture of Terror: the Collapse of America ~ I
This great betrayal has taken our “progressive” culture, with “the giant” of applied science lurking over everyone’s sense of the possible and turned it to fatalism. These betrayals have led to “multiculturalism” and the balkanization both of nations, and families, the better to centralize power and to scramble all states into a World “Commonwealth” where power, control and resources are monopolized by an oligarchy; those closer to the labyrinth’s center having greater amounts of all material and social perks and greater immunity from “law.” The dogma of “relativism,” gussied up as “situational ethics” means in effect that the law is the will of those with most power and that reason is an instrument of will and thus of appetites; that the rationales of this new State are thus insane, acts of wanton atrocity, to quote Melville in the epigraph. This deification of the will is a radical subversion of the principles of law, justice and righteousness, as well as charity rooted in Scri

POPSLack of Leadership @ MessNBC Leftist Professionalism = Oxymoron? I contend it IS possible, although by and large, the two don't arise mutually without some marked effort. But by placing less radical minds in charge who will deliberately allow their lefties to follow their political inclinations as a conscious alternative to FOX/RIGHT and CNN/CENTER , while constantly demanding professionalism and guiding them through all the predictable adolescent rebellion, pouting, and resistance to authority, The "Mess" can clean it up,take some pride in who they are and express their leftiness responsibly, not just in behavior. I believe it can be done. db.

POPSThink Man Needs No Moral Authority? -<<"Basically this philosophy teaches that it is the situation that determines the degree of honesty that is practiced. This leaves it up to the individual to determine what is right and wrong. This is a by-product of the common philosophy prevalent in society today of, truth being relevant. It is up to each individual to determine what is right and wrong, there are no absolutes. Honesty and integrity can never be taught when the defining of such is left up to each individual. There are absolutes ">>- (from the article)

POPS'Going Green' Puts Business in the Red -<"Try telling that to network reporters.ABC correspondent didn’t ask how much it cost to purchase the cases in the first place, or how much it would cost Wal-Mart to make all those other changes, preventing viewers from being able to assess if it was a sound business decision or not. “NBC Nightly News” praised shoe company Timberland (NYSE:TBL) on the February 3 broadcast for “not waiting for the government to take action” to stop global warming and for going ahead with reducing and offsetting emissions anyway. But Schendler and others are skeptical about effectiveness. “They weren’t literally offsetting anything,” Schendler told BusinessWeek." >--

POPSThis comment is pending approval and won't be displayed until it is approved. HERE IS MY COMMENT HUFF- POST REFUSED: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Can't we all just get a little real? Most of these comment-ers would be making the opposite argument had this happened to a Democrat administration. If Armitage from the State Dept.let it slip when there was legitimate curiosity about what had inspired JW's trip to Niger and it was not a malicious "outing",all this other blame is nothing more than gossip. While the trip ended with a highly questionable, seemingly biased opinion on the yellowcake issue,it was a success because Joe Wilson was looking to insert himself into the public eye and to be believed by the drama-driven media.Which,of course, they did. -----------------------------------(CONT'D)

POPSLA Times Swallows for TNR Are you kidding me? "It's also not at all clear to any fair-minded reader what the telephone transcripts actually show" WHAT? After hearing their continued defense of this guy, then reading the phone transcript tells me that the TNR guys were trying to hold on to this military-bashing with every last shred of fingernail and dignity. What a load of crap from this LAT guy. Every reference to blogs and mags that tried to get at the underlying B.S. are derogatory. AND WHAT'S MORE~they still haven't retracted it. It still, after all this, sits out there like a festering, fetid load long devoid of any telltale steam. ;-)
