POPSHealth Insurance:Cheating The Honor System The honor system may be fine in situations much smaller in scale and with less at stake. In instances where circumstances have placed people in the same position and role - at least on the surface as a statistic - as the intentionally dishonest, it is left to number crunchers to declare those who would appear as cheaters to be invalid. It is the dishonest who are more responsible for innocent parties being dubiously removed from the pool, thereby taking away their coverage. Assuming these cases could be resolved by a caring arbitrator to discern the difference between the unfortunate and the dishonest, maybe this factor could be cleared up.

POPSHealthcare Lies #1 in Series I ask: Who was it, when was it, and what was the alleged purpose of instituting such regulations? Behind the alleged intentions, what were the true intentions? Was there pre-knowledge that the effect would be detrimental to consumers in the long run? Was the well-being of the people sacrificed in order to cause the state of healthcare to degenerate and costs to spiral out of control just so eventually the people would acquiesce to governmental control? After all, go back only to the Clinton effort. When that failed do you imagine Democrats wanted to see conditions improve or get worse? That answer is obvious. The worse it got, the more pleased they had to be.

I have a pretty basic Comcast package and ever since I heard people complaining that they removed the MEssNBC, I found it up on stn.#128, away from the more "regular" channels, so I'd advise one to scan their sets, you may still have it. (I can't believe I'm helping anyone find the thing;-) Anyway, I think it would be too obvious for Comcast to make it any more scarce. Maybe it's just as well to keep those nutjobs (Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow,etc.) all in one place where they think they've really got something goin' on. Otherwise who knows what kind of hell they'd raise with their whining.

With the right personalities, I'm sure that there would be far more in common than not in this struggle to make the system of providing health care make sense and work for nearly everyone. I believe much of the opposition means well, deep down inside, and they would just as soon see all citizens provided with reasonable health care. For policymakers, as well as those who feel the need to understand, it is important to learn enough so as to balance a sense of empathy and caring with a knowledge that self-sufficiency and motivation are robbed and diminished every time we just submit to the government and let them say, "Come to papa." Of course, it's the intuitive part that lets one know that those are even factors important to investigate, I do believe. My insight of the day is nothing more than a given basic regarding the concept of insurance. Notice they gave the administration "3-4 years" so as to allow for an Obama re-election before raising taxes. Then it's all hell breakin' loose for taxes. Why be afraid to go on FOX and, if they are wrong about you, set them straight? It seems like if you had real faith in your agenda, and if conservatives' notions of what you're up to are way off base, you'd be confident to go look people in the eye and calmly tell them where they are wrong about you, why they are wrong about your extremist associates and appointments, and clear up the issues. This also means that states have the power to grant licenses to insurance companies, meaning that any new insurance company from its beginnings has to meet state-mandated standards. This is a huge barrier to entry, keeping newcomers out of what would otherwise be a highly competitive market and once again increasing prices for consumers. In a free market, profits are a signal telling more entrepreneurs to enter a market. More and more firms will enter the market until the profits have dropped low enough to discourage market entry. ............ Obama has said that under his current proposal, he would eliminate these state barriers.......... This completely ignores the fact that, under the necessary and proper clause, the government is only allowed to regulate those industries that it must to carry out its stated function.
