As it says, though; those people would just burn the coal and add even more previously-sequestered CO2 to the atmosphere, aggravating the problem.

A Perspective
darkeforce
by darkeforce  12-10-2009
An example of how easily some life forms can be deluded into not noticing how much their environment is becoming hazardous to them. Most species notices and tries to compensate, but the Republicus conservatardi just ignore the signs of danger and blunder along in blissful denial of the threat.

If you wanted a roadmap of Sarah Palin's delusions, then it's a good source, but if you want something where she blames everyone but herself for all her failings, then don't waste your money. Stephen Colbert had a good idea, though. Glue all the pages of it together, and hollow it out to hide your valuables in. Guaranteed, no one with any intelligence will look inside.

Americans: A Protrait
darkeforce
by darkeforce  12-10-2009    1
Despite the fact that there are a lot of smart, well-informed Americans, this is the reality that is presented to the world. Or maybe it's just that people like this all have the biggest mouths and/or nothing better to do with their time than slavishly do whatever Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh tell them to do.

The Republicans are just as pathetic today, as they were a week ago. Americans are just saying that they're disgusted with both parties, and local issues mean more to them than party affiliations. But I suppose if the GOP don't have their delusions, they've got nothing whatsoever.

darkeforce

Maybe it's because he doesn't care what happens to Canada or care what Canadians want — especially Central and Eastern Canadians. Of maybe because he lives in a gilded tower, separated from the country he governs with the least transparent government in Canada's history? Or maybe he's just a jerk.

Just Say Yes
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-28-2009
A healthy 13-year-old boy died today in Toronto from the H1N1 influenza virus. While H1N1 still causes severe reactions and death in significantly fewer cases than seasonal influenza, it can still kill, like any case of influenza. There's no good reason to refuse the vaccine (just paranoia and hype), and plenty of good reasons to get it. If a family's perfectly healthy, 13-year-old can go from mild symptoms to dead within 48hs, it can happen to anyone. Don't be scared; don't panic, but take reasonable precautions. That includes getting the vaccine as soon as it's available. Don't let the conspiracy theorists scare you away!

Concerning Fox's War against the White House
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-28-2009    4
Considering that FoxNews started attacking Obama based on fantasies and lies starting in January, it's typical right-wing victimhood for them to whine like little girls when the White House takes actions to level the playing field. The only real surprise was how much the other Corporate, Right-WIng Media Outlets were in Fox's back pocket. Besides, why should FoxNews care if it's invited to press conferences, anyway? They just make up all their shit in the first place; creating and parroting strawmen and scarecrows over and over to drum the lies into the heads of their gullible viewers.

"No Shot" Wackos
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-25-2009
If you had something that's proven to prevent disease and suffering, you'd get it for the people you love the most — your children, wouldn't you? But suddenly, a bunch of cranks start saying its some kind of government plot, and people buy it, putting themselves, their children and everyone they come into contact with in danger? That's just stupid... dangerously stupid. The exact same technology and techniques that are protecting your children from diseases like polio and whooping cough are in those 'flu vaccines. It isn't anything new or dangerous, so get over your paranoia already... especially since the government is offering the shots for free! So leave your paranoia and conspiracy theories at home, and protect the people you care about. Get the inoculations, and stop being silly.

Rich "Victims"
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-25-2009
The conservatives have a mentality where they need to identify themselves as victims, no matter how good they have it, and then demand that things be made "better" for them, at the same time as they scream "oppression" at anyone who has a differing opinion. It's part-and-parcel of the pathological selfishness that marks right-wingers (really, only a step above sociopaths)

Not Necessarily True
darkeforce
by darkeforce  10-20-2009
FoxNews gets away with lying to Americans and toying with their emotions using 100% opinion pieces, with no actual real information within. Then again, fiction always has sold well. People like an escape from reality, so what could be better for the dim and gullible in America than an entire network based on myth, fantasy and fabrication? Of course, you can't hold FoxNews responsible if people mistakenly think that their "Infotainment" is real...
