    The Answer Terrifies Them
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  11-14-2008    2
Foreign terrorism against Americans would disappear along with the need for a "war on terror." Civil liberties that were suspended could be restored. A sense of balance and harmony could return to our lives. Ending interventionism would mean that the era of big government in foreign affairs could be brought to an end.

Silence That Man! He's Telling The Truth!!!
    sahara
    by sahara  11-17-2007    4
"I would ask the congressman to ... tell us what he meant," said Rudy. A fair question and a crucial question. When Ron Paul said the 9-11 killers were "over here because we are over there," he was not excusing the mass murderers of 3,000 Americans. He was explaining the roots of hatred out of which the suicide-killers came. Lest we forget, Osama bin Laden was among the mujahideen whom we, in the Reagan decade, were aiding when they were fighting to expel the Red Army from Afghanistan. We sent them Stinger missiles, Spanish mortars, sniper rifles. And they helped drive the Russians out. Osama bin Laden in his declaration of war in the 1990s said it was U.S. troops on the sacred soil of Saudi Arabia, U.S. bombing and sanctions of a crushed Iraqi people, and U.S. support of Israel's persecution of the Palestinians that were the reasons he and his mujahideen were declaring war on us. Senate Blocks Bill To Audit The Fed
    thisnamecantbetaken

DeMint said that the Fed has enjoyed a monopoly over money and credit in the United States since 1913 yet has never been transparent or accountable to Congress, while during that time the dollar has lost 95% of its purchasing power. “Americans across the nation, regardless of their opinion on the bailout, want to know where the money has gone,” he added, referring to the Fed’s refusal to disclose where trillions in bailout funds has gone.

    by sahara  9-24-2009    13
Everywhere you look, big events are occurring in the global economy. Last week, the United Nations said that the dollar’s unique role as a global currency was at an end. Although China, Brazil, Russia and India have all called for a new economic system not based on the dollar, this is the first time that a multinational institution has suggested scrapping the greenback. Also last week, the U.S. administration was forced to ask Congress to raise the debt ceiling again—this time to over $12 trillion—a level that will be breached by October. On Friday, three more banks failed in the U.S., bringing the total to 92 this year. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. recently increased the number of problem banks on its watch list to 400—up from around 300 during the first quarter of the year. In Britain, last week, the World Economic Forum listed Britain’s economy as less stable than Peru’s. The world is awaking to the possibility that America and Britain face real collapse.

Both candidates - and nearly all American politicians - fall within a narrow band of center-rightists. Nobody in this election is even on the same side of center as socialism is - and raising the socialism alarm is pretty un-informed. Here's a graph from the primary days that explains it well. By the way, Ron Paul is not the most libertarian of the early candidates, either!

Blitzer: If it came down to a preemptive US strike against Iran’s nuclear facility, if necessary would you authorize as president the use of tactical nuclear weapons? Hunter, Giuliani, Gilmore, and Romney were the only ones directly asked the question, but five others—Senator John McCain, Senator Sam Brownback, Congressman Tom Tancredo, former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson, and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee—had ample opportunity to object or to distinguish their positions from this endorsement of mass murder. Only one candidate chose to do so, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas

Lots of you love Paul, but this is a little far-out for my taste. I lean left on some issues because I hold "my faith in God before" my "faith in the state." Our nation's "Christian heritage" may be a white male Protestant exaggeration. Ask blacks or native Americans or Mexican- or Asian- Americans, or women, or starving old folks before Social Security (or even Catholics, for that matter) if they'd like to go back to 17th/18th/19th-century "Christian" America. I'll take the walk over the talk any day. By the way, Christmas as we know it is a Victorian invention along the lines of Dickens' A Christmas Carol . I doubt that the Founders would find it "Christian." Paul seems a bit in the dark, here.

Eager to Tap Iraq's Vast Oil Reserves Industry Execs Suggested Invasion
    brightlight4
    by brightlight4  7-3-2009    5
In Ron Suskind's 2004 book, "The Price of Loyalty," O'Neill said an invasion of Iraq was on the agenda at the first National Security Council. There was even a map for a post-war occupation, marking out how Iraq's oil fields would be carved up. Even at that early date, the message from Bush was "find a way to do this," according to O'Neill, a critic of the Iraq invasion who was forced out of his job in December 2002. The New Yorker's Jane Mayer later made another discovery: a secret NSC document dated February 3, 2001 - only two weeks after Bush took office - instructing NSC officials to cooperate with Cheney's task force, which was "melding" two previously unrelated areas of policy: "the review of operational policies towards rogue states" and "actions regarding the capture of new and existing oil and gas fields." By March 2001, Cheney's task force had prepared a set of documents with a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refiner

First Votes Counted in U.S. Historical Elections: Obama Wins.

Election Day has begun. Obama ahead by 7 votes. Only about 145,000,000 million registered remaining. A record turnout expected. The amusing occurrence of a town, ski resort, way up in a national forest near the Canadian border, Dixville, NH has happened again, with it's fifteen minutes of fame. New Hampshire law allows allows towns to close their polls once all registered and eligible voters have cast ballots and to declare the results. All 29 registered voters showed up to vote at one minute after midnight - a town tradition for almost 50 years. (the town has 115 residents). Obama got 17 votes, McCain 10, and Ron Paul two write in votes.

Abolish the Federal Reserve --- Ron Paul from '02
    katsteevns
    by katsteevns  10-11-2008    3
(cont.)From the Great Depression, to the stagflation of the seventies, to the burst of the dotcom bubble last year, every economic downturn suffered by the country over the last 80 years can be traced to Federal Reserve policy. The Fed has followed a consistent policy of flooding the economy with easy money, leading to a misallocation of resources and an artificial "boom" followed by a recession or depression when the Fed-created bubble bursts. With a stable currency, American exporters will no longer be held hostage to an erratic monetary policy. Stabilizing the currency will also give Americans new incentives to save as they will no longer have to fear inflation eroding their savings. Those members concerned about increasing America's exports or the low rate of savings should be enthusiastic supporters of this legislation.

Vanity Fair: Sarah Palin Is Winning

Ron Paul is a nut. I don’t know if that needs repeating, but it feels like it. When asked about Palin, he said her supporters are “more establishment, conventional Country-Club type of Republicans.” Yeah, that’s the problem with Palin: Too elitist. She’s always flying around in her fancy helicopter shooting wolves with her brand name rifles because she just feels she’s too good to walk around the ground throwing rocks at them like Ron Paul salt of the earth types. I bet her supporters have to use brand name Reynolds Wrap to make their hats instead of just buying the store brand tin foil even though both block out government mind control signals just the same. I kid, but Ron Paul does have a long career ahead of him… dancing on the street corner for nickels.

House passes bill (HR 4279) that will let the RIAA take away your home for downloading music

If this bill is passed in its present form by the Senate and signed, that means there's no more pro forma RIAA lawsuit payoffs, because if you wind up settling with the RIAA, you could still lose all your stuff in addition to any fee you paid them. The more the law is constructed to sweep in folks who are absolutely observant of it, the more we need broader protections. The voting scorecard, http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll300.xml Only 11 Noes, to include Ron Paul. "It means they may take your home away if your KID is stealing music over the internet without even your knowledge. Cause it happened on property you had direct control over though you are clueless." Read the rest at the source, the comments are pretty good as well.

This is a practical way through action alerts to contact Congress on various issues. Included now is Ron Pauls legislation and a call for the Senate to vote no on Mukasey for A.G. this week. Act now to save your freedoms. (This is not the same as Bruce Fein's "American Freedom Agenda", very similar name, that is more conservative, yet both are addressing presently the abuse of the Constitution. The one above has allies like ACLU and Moveon.org, which might differ on other grounds from this pledge above. The Constitution is not a partisan document and deserves to be defended by all).
