     Lost in the horse race noise is the story of the Senate yet again capitulating to the desires of the Bush administration. Wiretapping laws expanded, civil liberties and privacy shrinking, and Obama and Clinton didn't have the balls to vote. Great.

     Here's the theory: Bush does not want his legacy to include leaving office with Iran in possession of nuclear capabilities. Even if Iran does NOT have the bomb, it has been so hyped that Bush can't afford to appear soft on Iran after talking such a tough game. The neo-Con strategy includes destabilizing the region, with a plan of long-term domination. Interesting strategy, and we should not be surprised if Iran becomes a serious concern 6 months from now.
