Top 25 All Time Clippers!
ericw
by ericw  12-4-2006    45
Introducing the new Clipper Index page. Congrats to invictus , our number one all time clipper, and the other 24 of you in the Top 25. Please note that the page is a work in progress and we will continue to tweak the algorithm in the coming weeks. Also be on the lookout for new features on this page soon, like sorting by any of the column headers (e.g., most pops, alphabetically, etc.) I'm a modest 31. What's your rank?

Fake eye - prosthetics from 4,800 years ago.
coconutshell
by coconutshell  12-20-2006    2
Harris said the primary reason for the artificial eyeball would not have been medical. "She could have worn a patch, but perhaps her family wanted her to look her best for public appearances," he explained. Damn the wealthy!!;) I'm sure all the other girls back then would have wanted the fake eye too.

A Christmas tech story.....
coconutshell
by coconutshell  12-1-2006    1
What I would like to do is challenge each and every one of you DCoTers to take a look through your older computer equipment and see if you can put together a system that could help out someone in need during the holiday. It may just be a “pile of junk” to you but it can make all the difference in the world to someone in need. If you have ever done something like this or you plan to do something like this, I want to hear about it. Leave your Christmas Tech Miracle stories in the comments for all to read. "

Fear and Money in Dubai
coconutshell
by coconutshell  10-29-2006    4
One of the most accurate articles I've read yet. Blunt, to the point and most of all, true. It's a fairly lengthy article but gives the reader a more in-depth insight on what's underneath the surface of the iceberg that is Dubai.

Gingerbread Caramels
coconutshell
by coconutshell  11-16-2009    1
'Tis the season for anything gingerbread-y! Yay! I really shouldn't read so fast; I kept reading the recipe as "Gingerbread Camels" and kept wondering where the camel-shaped cookie cutters were and what made them so much more special than your average gingerbread men! The comments mention that the spice content could be upped a bit on this recipe, best to play around with that. I wonder if fresly steeped ginger or candied ginger would be a good thing to add to the mix.

Life list of a 7-year old
coconutshell
by coconutshell  2-7-2007    1
Someday, my son will look back on this first life list he ever composed and laugh at some of the things he wrote - just as you laugh at some of them now. But he’ll also laugh at the many things he achieved, and realize that it was that rainy day back in late 2006 when these accomplishments and experiences started hurtling towards him - and when his habit of shooting for the moon was born. Have you written your life list yet?
