So that's why Pepsi tastes so bad. The main ingredient after all, is water.

It's a myth that bottled water is significantly healthier than ordinary tap water and it's just peoples perceptions that seems' to make bottled water tastier. I could probably purify urine to get water and sell it as water from some exotic spring and some people would still willingly pay me about £2.99 for half a litre. That's more expensive than petrol!

Is Forbes acquiring Clipmarks?
egoldstein
by egoldstein  8-7-2007    48
VentureBeat just ran a story stating that Forbes has acquired Clipmarks. I wanted to quickly fill everyone in on what's going on. First, this article is a bit premature. We have not been acquired by Forbes. However, for the past few months we have been meeting with people at all levels of Forbes and the excitement and support they have shown for what we're creating has been very meaningful to us. As many of you have probably seen already, a number of their writers are already clipping and our technology has been integrated on forbes.com. For quite a while, we have been in talks with various parties about helping to financially support clipmarks. However, we hadn't yet found the right "partner" to help us complete this journey. A partner who fully understands our vision for making news and information more portable and interactive than ever before. Therefore, we just kept looking. Continued...

Soooo, with that said, who's up for helping me avoid this catastrophic situation which could most certainly negatively affect my self-esteem? :D (btw I love how the end of the article goes into some talk about a contractor and building permits)

Girls entering puberty by the age of six - but are drugs the answer?
michellezm
by michellezm  8-7-2007    10
"Early puberty has even been linked to watching too much television. A few years ago, Italian scientists found that children who watched three hours a day produced less of the sleep hormone melatonin - low levels of the hormone play an important role in the timing of puberty. But perhaps more worrying is the theory that it's exposure to environmental chemicals which is causing the drop in the age of puberty. These chemicals mimic the effect of hormones, disrupting the normal timing of sexual maturing. Whatever the cause, growing numbers of children are being deprived of childhood and are turning, physically, into mini-adults at an increasingly young age. But without the emotional maturity to deal with these changes, they are vulnerable to exploitation. In Britain, it is now estimated that up to at least one in six children under ten is affected. Indeed, there is a belief that schoolgirls as young as six are entering puberty".
