POPSGeoEye-1, Google's Satellite Sends First Image In an interview for Wired magazine, GeoEye's vice president of communications and marketing, Mark Brender, explained, “This is the opposite of a spy satellite. Spies don't put info on the Internet and sell imagery. We're an Earth-imaging satellite, and we can sell our imagery to customers around the world who have a need to map and measure and monitor things on the ground. We're commercializing a technology that was once only in the hands of the governments. Just like the internet, just like GPS, just like telecom – all invented by the government. And now we are on the front end of the spear that is commercializing this technology.”

POPSSaddam Hussein Is Sentenced to Death International legal experts and human rights observers have questioned the impartiality of the trial court, which was created to try top leaders of the ousted government during the 15-month period of formal American occupation following the invasion in the spring of 2003. "We saw this trial, along with the others, as an opportunity to bring justice to those Iraqis who had suffered horribly under Baath Party rule," Richard Dicker, director of the international justice program at Human Rights Watch, said in a statement on Sunday. "Unfortunately, we believe the serious shortcomings in the fairness of the proceedings undermined the legitimacy and credibility of the trial."

POPSLook Closely, Doctor: See the Camera? Psychiatrists say that other movies whose characters are living in a unreal world or being watched by malevolent forces, including “The Matrix,” “Edtv” and even the film based on George Orwell’s “1984,” have come up in conversations with psychotic patients. But the premise of “The Truman Show” (“What if you were watched every moment of your life?” according to a promotional blurb) is strikingly similar to what patients describe as their own experiences. Reinforcing their beliefs is the fact that in the movie, Truman is right about being watched and recorded at all times. Every other character is part of the conspiracy.

POPSA Levitating Arrow Rest Talking about how long it took to perfect this: "Someone a long time ago realized that you could store energy in a curved limb of a tree and launch a projectile," he says. "Five thousand years later, it's neat to be a part of its improvement."

POPSSexpionage, underage Girls or Boys, Gays, whatever. Bill Clinton got off light. It could have been an underage girl instead of the well experienced Monica and her rosy mouth. How many Congress votes are got from sex with underage children? What level will the Zionist stoop to to kill Palestinians because that is the cause and effect of sexpionage in the USA by the Zionists? Ignore it. It'll go away. Like Bush. Sure.

POPSNotes On Terror "For more than two years, the Republican chairman of the committee, Senator Pat Roberts, made sure that a report would never be finished. It has now been in the hands of his replacement, Democrat Jay Rockefeller, for nearly a year, and there is still no report. That means Americans still don’t know whether Mr. Bush deliberately hyped and distorted the intelligence on Iraq or was also misinformed."

POPSBombshell (!) in Israeli-USA Spy Network Case
I'm glad this reporter summed up yesterday's revelations (see clip) -- and he did a good job -- because it would have stretched the limits of my own incredulousness to do so. 1. Serious Israeli spying on the USA. (Not accusation. Guy in jail for 12 years; previous cases, guys in jail) 2. These two Israeli lobbyist from AIPAC are facing trial for being involved but real heavy-duty machinations keep getting the trial postponed. 3. Jewish Congresswoman Jane Harmon tells the Jewish Lobby and Israeli agents she will help quash the trial of the two AIPAC lobbyist if they can use their influence to get her nominated to become head of the House Intelligence Committee. 4. This is caught on tap in a legal wiretap that was on the AIPAC accused Israeli spies. 5. AG Gonzales (this was a year ago,Bush president) stops any investigation of Congresswoman Harmon by the NSA in exchange for her supporting Bush era illegal warrantless wiretaping of US citizens. Wow! This can't go on.

POPSThe Spies who love Obama
The world is a very complicated place and there are not always easy solutions to a lot of the problems out there," says John Brennan, a top Obama intelligence advisor and former senior CIA official who co-founded the Terrorist Threat Integration Center and the National Counterterrorism Center, a post-9/11 effort to integrate the US government's terror threat intelligence. "If you look at the world in black and white, you miss a lot of the subtleties out there. 'Either with us or against'—the world is not divided into good and evil a lot of time. Despite America's military might, a lot of these problems do not lend themselves to kinetic solutions"—i.e. the use of force. And world dynamics are likely to get more complicated and nuanced, not less, by 2025. "It's time to update our national security strategy to stay one step ahead of the terrorists," Obama said at Indiana's Purdue University. "It's time to look ahead—at the dangers of today and tomorrow rather than those of yesterday.

POPSObama Aide Suggests 'Winnie The Pooh' Foreign Policy Actually, this is the best thing I've heard from the Obama Camp. I suppose we can learn something from Winnie the Pooh. I doubt, however, the Islamists that want to kill all infidels would be very impressed with this sensitive approach.

POPSScallywaggers V Nazis continues: In the dark days of 1940, the unit grew to about 6,000 members, who knew little of each other and operated in small guerrilla groups. Recruited to disrupt a German occupation force – including roles such as blowing up tanks, lorry parks and communications – the teams prepared by carrying out covert missions, known as “scallywagging”, at night. POPSThe CIA influence on Hollywood The model for this is the defence department's "open" but barely publicised relationship with Hollywood. The Pentagon, for decades, has offered film-makers advice, manpower and even hardware - including aircraft carriers and state-of-the-art helicopters. All it asks for in exchange is that the US armed forces are made to look good. So in a previous Scott film, Black Hawk Down, a character based on a real-life soldier who had also been a child rapist lost that part of his backstory when he came to the screen.
