POPSResearchers 'fake' spam and learn how it makes money "After 26 days, and almost 350 million e-mail messages, only 28 sales resulted," wrote the researchers. The response rate for this campaign was less than 0.00001%. This is far below the average of 2.15% reported by legitimate direct mail organisations. "Taken together, these conversions would have resulted in revenues of $2,731.88—a bit over $100 a day for the measurement period," said the researchers. Scaling this up to the full Storm network the researchers estimate that the controllers of the vast system are netting about $7,000 (£4,430) a day or more than $2m (£1.28m) per year.

I call the game "Feed my Spammer" and this is how you play: First create a new Twitter name and began to follow the spammer. Start with a few random Tweets, then turn on the auto tweet, slowly increasing your tweets each day. I doubt you ever make it to the every 2 minute mark, before they block your or report you as a spammer. You get 25 points for a block, 50 points if they hide their updates from, 75 if they report you to @spam and 100 if you make them quit Twitter. Maybe these spammers will get the message, but if they don't and just block you. It's time to go into extrat innings with them. Create another user name and repeat the p

POPSSpam King Slammed With Suit Apparently spamming actually brings in quite a bit of money for these yahoos. Until it eats into their bottom-line (either through lawsuits or severe drops in revenue) it will never go away. You can help out by reporting spammers to your ISP and/or junking them. Responding to them only encourages them. Spammers are like trolls. Do not play with them!

POPSSpammers' Fake Newsletters - Slips by email filters It never ceases to amaze me how so many people find it challenging to destroy a good thing. The introduction of the www was meant to expand the universe and connect people. Not destroy and create havoc. The net has become a hacker and spammer's virtual world of mass destruction. OMG. I can't believe I just said that!! :))
