I am all for protecting the vulnerable, but this smells a little too much like censorship, to me What else could or would governments decide to deem "harmful information"? Do I trust they always would have my best interests at heart, if they get to decide what we can read or not? In my opinion, the causes of suicide largely lie offline, not on. If we want to reduce suicide, look to answer the questions why first, now how. "Guns don't kill people", and neither do webpages.

According to her letters, Mother Teresa died with her doubts. She had even stopped praying, she once said. The church decided to keep her letters, even though one of her dying wishes was that they be destroyed. Perhaps now we know why.

It wasn't so long ago that gays were reviled as "fags" or "queers" and homosexuality was considered and treated as a psychological disorder. No religious conservative--Catholic, Protestant, Jew, or Muslim--would stand up in the pulpit today and declare that blacks are inferior human beings. And it's only a matter of time before they stop calling gays and lesbians inferior also. For the very same reason: it contradicts God's love for all creation.
