POPSWelcome to the Clipiversity We were talking recently about how much we learn each day from reading clips on the site. I won't speak for anyone else, but i definitely have learned more from the clips that you all have posted than i did in high school, college and law school combined. Sad, but true. So, Skiff set out to create a fun podcast that highlights some of the interesting clips we find each day. It also gives us an opportunity to weigh in on them. Now you can sit back and listen to highlights from clipmarks on the clipiversity podcast...and don't worry, there will be no pop quizzes...get it, pop ;)

POPSInvictus blogs about Clipmarks Thank you Invictus. I say something similar to myself quite often. "How incredible that i get to work on something that is fun, inspiring, challenging and meaningful that provides me the opportunity to learn about all sorts of interesting things from amazing people around the world." Thank you for everything you have done to make this a special place. I have learned a lot from you!

POPSThere are more slaves today... ...than at any other time in history. Twice as many slaves as when Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Our Congress just apologized for historical slavery in America, but what about the people in slavery today? I urge you to go to the website www.callandresponse.com and find out ways to respond, ways to act. Here is an opportunity to create hope and change. It isn't called Awarenessism, it's called Activism. Let's act.

POPSIs social media an illusion? What i get out of social media is access to information and ideas that i otherwise wouldn't find myself. Quite honestly, my social media attention is primarily allocated to Clipmarks and Amplify because these two sites provide the type of experience i'm looking for - the abilty to understand the world better by seeing it through other people's eyes. I genuinely believe i am a smarter, more well rounded person because i've had the opportunity to see what other people are reading and what they have to say about it.

POPSFear is literally all in our heads... Over the past few years, thanks to Clipmarks and Amplify, i've had the opportunity to read a lot of clips about how the brain works. I'm fascinated by how powerful it is and how responsible it is for so much human activity - not just cognitive, but emotional as well.

POPSHow To Care For Introverts How To Care for Extroverts - Ignore their requests for privacy - Embarrass them whenever possible - Always announce their arrival to a group and give them an opportunity to make a speech - Press them for answers, allowing no more than 3 sec. between questions - Interrupt them when they talk - Little notice is required when major changes need to occur - Reprimand them publicly - Make their learning experiences public and stressful - Discourage relationship building and the acquiring of 'friends' - Help them become a better person by encouraging less extroverted behaviors Hmmm...that can't be right. Maybe we should be treating everyone like an Introvert.

POPSMy stroke of insight - An astonishing story. Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one. An astonishing story.
