10 Minutes Of Staring at Boobs Daily Prolongs Man's Life by 5 Years...
    Mohir
    by Mohir  12-2-2007    18
"Sexual excitement gets the heart pumping and improves blood circulation. There's no question: Gazing at large breasts makes men healthier. Our study indicates that engaging in this activity a few minutes daily cuts the risk of stroke and heart attack in half." said Weatherby, who even recommended that men aged over 40 should spend at least 10 minutes daily admiring breasts sized "D-cup" or larger. She said that this was as healthy as going to the gym for 30 minutes daily and prolonged a man's life by five years.

10 Ways We Get the Odds Wrong
    Silkweaver
    by Silkweaver  6-20-2008    2
And the two last ones: IX. We Love Sunlight But Fear Nuclear Power Why "natural" risks are easier to accept. X. We Should Fear Fear Itself Why worrying about risk is itself risky. Though the odds of dying in a terror attack like 9/11 or contracting Ebola are infinitesimal, the effects of chronic stress caused by constant fear are significant. Studies have found that the more people were exposed to media portrayals of the 2001 attacks, the more anxious and depressed they were. Chronically elevated stress harms our physiology, says Ropeik. "It interferes with the formation of bone, lowers immune response, increases the likelihood of clinical depression and diabetes, impairs our memory and our fertility, and contributes to long-term cardiovascular damage and high blood pressure."

No thanks, I don't want to live forever. "Ultimately, nanobots will replace blood cells and do their work thousands of times more effectively. "Within 25 years we will be able to do an Olympic sprint for 15 minutes without taking a breath, or go scuba-diving for four hours without oxygen. "Heart-attack victims – who haven't taken advantage of widely available bionic hearts – will calmly drive to the doctors for a minor operation as their blood bots keep them alive. "Nanotechnology will extend our mental capacities to such an extent we will be able to write books within minutes. "If we want to go into virtual-reality mode, nanobots will shut down brain signals and take us wherever we want to go. Virtual sex will become commonplace. And in our daily lives, hologram like figures will pop in our brain to explain what is happening. "So we can look forward to a world where humans become cyborgs, with artificial limbs and organs."

Maybe this is why so few people participate on the web and why that such a relatively large percent that do insult and attack other participants. It is a stress reaction that kicks up a fight-or-flight response. I try to remember most of those doing the insulting are expressing their own background of verbal abuse and fear. Try to let it slide off your back like water on a duck. That's good karma.

Friends, I can't even go on here. Look at my face, see how flushed I am? You get me going on about the Catholics and I'm likely to have a heart attack. I just thank God that everything our youngsters know about the Catholic Church is what they've been hearing on TV. Most of our Truly Saved® Christian children are so terrified of priests that they can't even sleep at night. Let's open our hymnals to page 217 - Just As I Am, singing from the second stanza. . . "Just as I am. . ." Truly Saved® Christians The content of the clip was written by a pastor! *Real* Christians of course have a registered trademark and a $750 million budget. If anyone can spot the teachings of Christ anywhere in this "sermon", would you please point them out to me? I seem to be temporarily blinded by the hypocrisy of it all. But let's open up youtube and have a little sing-a-long, shall we? Praise the Lord. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugZq9hiuCJo

Know what your Senator pays for insurance?
    masbury
    by masbury  7-16-2009
Compare a 64-year-old Senator with a typical 64-year old Iowan. The Senator has government insurance, and it is outstanding - a different world from what you and I can get - and at a fraction of the price. It's a government-run program, it's one of the best insurance plans in the country, and it's a bargain. Chances are your Senator doesn't think you should have it.

How the Personal Genome Project Could Unlock the Mysteries of Life

...You would very quickly begin to see meaningful and powerful correlations between particular genetic sequences and particular physical characteristics, from height and hair color to disease risk and personality. Church has done more than imagine such an undertaking; he has launched it: The Personal Genome Project, an effort to make those correlations on an unprecedented scale, began last year with 10 volunteers and will soon expand to 100,000 participants. It will generate a massive database of genomes, phenomes, and even some omes in between.

Red wine's resveratrol may help battle obesity
    Mohir
    by Mohir  6-16-2008
In the cell-based study, they found that resveratrol inhibited the pre-fat cells from increasing and prevented them from converting into mature fat cells. Also, resveratrol hindered fat storage. Most interesting, according to Fischer-Posovszky, was that resveratrol reduced production of certain cytokines (interleukins 6 and 8), substances that may be linked to the development of obesity-related disorders, such as diabetes and clogged coronary arteries. Also, resveratrol stimulated formation of a protein known to decrease the risk of heart attack. Obesity decreases this substance, called adiponectin.

"If the heart can generate new muscle cells, researchers can hope to develop drugs that might accelerate the process, since the heart fails to replace cells that are killed in a heart attack. " And this could be a crucial development towards life span extension in both quantity and quality since cardiac diseases are still among the highest killers or disabling diseases. Interesting and important finding!

Disbelief over 9/11 - at last
    firebird
    by firebird  2-10-2007    19
Finally this issue of immeasurable importance is moving from the internet into the main stream media. If the idea that this was a self-inflicted strikes you as unbelievable, then do some careful research on the internet, with an open mind, and be prepared to have your beliefs challenged. If that is not convincing, read one of the three books on the subject by the academic and theologian David Ray Griffin. Let's hope this year the truth begins to be more widely disseminated. It is hard to watch Loose Change (easy to get on the internet) without concluding something is very amiss.

Many people believe that heart disease is a risk for older men. And everyone knows the normal risk factors of heart disease, like eating foods that are high in cholesterol or not exercising. Women need to understand the facts. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among American women; in fact, it kills six times as many people as breast cancer. More facts at the source.
