POPSChurch of Hate Pays Thru the Nose Though money cannot comfort the father who lost his son hopefully it will have an effect on this despicable "church". I actually cheered when I heard the outcome of this suit on the news.

POPSA Texas Church Cancels a Funeral.....the deceased was GAY! Unbelievable! A nondenominational mega-church offers to plan and pay for the funeral of the brother of one of its members, reneges on the deal at the last minute when they discover the deceased was gay. The pastor said some of the photos that were to be displayed at the service showed hugging of two men. The mother wanted those pictures shown. The pastor felt that the mother of a murderer wouldn't expect to display photos of her son committing a murder, so why should this woman want to display a photo of her son indicating he is gay. This is enough to make me want to vomit. I am so sick of religious hypocrites causing pain for innocent and good people because of their own inborn sickness. Shame on this church and its so-called spiritual leader. My wish is for him to become a spirit as soon as possible.

POPSREALITY CHECK! There is a frightening new global trend of denial... Europeans think that they don't need to limit fishing... Car companies don't think they need to improve fuel economy standards... Bush thinks he can increase spending and cut taxes at the same time... Jingoists think we are winning the war in Iraq... Democrats think Hillary Clinton has enough experience to win an election... Polluters think that Global Warming won't really happen... Evangelicals think Jesus is coming back soon... Fundamentalists think they can win the war against modernity... The truth is: we're stuck with this world. The rules DO apply. No free passes. You have to face the music sometime. We must choose realism over comfortable delusion. Unfortunately, for now, wistful thinking will rule the day until we let it all collapse around us. Then we'll stand there scratching our heads saying: How could this happen?

POPSThis Man Is Evil update: the link is now defunct. Hmm I could introduce him to at least 100 people who were personally traumatized by Reagan. And since I am a living, breathing consequence of his policies, flashbacks, trauma and all, you own this misery. Conservatives cannot deny facts, no matter how long and hard they try. High unemployment led to poverty. Reagan's social policies led to NO safety net. No safety net led to 32 degree F inside the house and no food. Lack of basic necessities led the State to put me and my siblings in foster care. Do I have to draw a map? If you supported him, you supported this outcome for a 10 year old and her little brothers. The 6-yr old cowered under the dinner table at the foster home for at least two weeks. This is your compassion?? And it is happening to another child or a dozen right now. Poverty leading to foster care, broken families. How do you expect anyone to forgive you? Also, alleged scholar, poor does NOT=black.

POPSBehind the Scenes: Picturing Fetal Remains Other questions arose. How did you know for sure that Malachi was not a miscarriage? How did you know the damage to the fetus did not come from simple decomposition, or the month that it was outside the freezer? Mr. Benham said there was no doubt in his mind that the image captured the truth of abortion because Malachi was found at a clinic dedicated to abortions. He cited the mark by Malachi’s right ear. “You can see that, it’s forceps,” he said.

POPSI am an Armenian today Whenever there is a sharp divide between the will of the nation and the will of the state, the skies first covered up with dark clouds, then it starts hailing, and, in the end, there is a storm. Dark clouds have been gathering ever since the episodes in Semdinli. It is obvious that as May 2007 nears, first it will start hailing, and then a storm will break out. by Cuneyt Ulsever - Turkish daily News

POPSLadies of Arlington Never Miss Final Salute I HOPE YOU CAN TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS. This story pulled at my heart strings. What a wonderful organization with such great and meaningful values to devote their time and to show respect to our fallen solders. The Arlington Ladies stand a silent vigil at funerals attended by dozens of mourners and at funerals where a Soldier has no next of kin - no friends present to render a final salute. In fact, that is the very reason they attend funerals. Since 1973, the Arlington Ladies have ensured that no Soldier - old or young - is ever buried alone.
