Ahem. 100% of humanity has a sexual addiction. Whether or not it's repressed is another matter entirely. Perhaps "50% of Christian men are somewhat comfortable with themselves" might be a bit more appropriate.

No, I'm not arguing that people should be having sex all the time or free to look at pornography whenever they please. Like all things, sex has a time and a place but arguing that people are not sexual beings is a bit nuts. This is my biggest problem with Abrahamic relgions, sexual repression. Makes people miserable! The countries with the most aggression and violence are the ones with the strictest rules and cultural mores on sex.

One could argue that the difference between art and pornography is the difference between beauty and an intent to arouse a person. As a woman, I find pornography offensive in the sense that it may lead to an obsession with looking at women rather than interacting with them. We also see the the will of women as men want to experience it. The woman is objectified; she is no longer a human being.

The percentage of females who would consider themselves addicted is what surprised me.

Art is appreciating the object, porn is wanting the object itself.

So, merely seeing a naked woman or man is NOT porn unto itself. And I don't agree that women are being objectified and "no longer a human being." Men are visual; that doesn't threaten my womanhood in the slightest. It's when the looking turns to darker thoughts is when the problem begins.

Porn addiction can become really obnoxious to the extent where you may start despising yourself. I was addicted to internet pornography and have seen worst things happen, you lose your self esteem, your relationships break but the irony is that you still won't listen anything that is said against porn, you will still watch it. For all the porn addicts I would mention the site where I got help... http://www.throughtheflame.org. If you are someone who is addicted to porn or someone affected by his/her partner's addiction you can get help there.

sexual repression. Makes people miserable!
Yes it does, and repressive control of sexual urges, it would seem, also makes an individual more malleable and open to persuasive control from other directions, such as "believe in and support with your finances the way of the church". Frankly, I find the poll results to be comical in the commentary they offer about the value of being a mind convicted to the value of salvation.
