How do you get this stupid? You have to work hard at it. You have to wake up everyday and carefully consider what you will listen to and what you will have to stare at with an expression of blank incomprehension to remain this dense. And then you need to go on the Daily Kos and write misconceptions about those who disagree with you politically. It’s almost scary to see people this willfully stupid and this angry, This is a screenshot. I don't want links to Kos in my clips.

Carrie Prejean’s Attorney Responds to ‘Inaccurate and Misleading’ Rumors
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  Yesterday 3:31 PM    2
If you just read what those on on the left, particularly the gay left, and in their MSM echo chamber said about Carrie Prejean without hearing the beauty queen’s actual words, you might have thought she had slandered gays, saying that the reason “homosexuals” weren’t worthy of state-sanctioned married was because we were perverts, incapable of relationship. I'm gay, and I don't believe she smeared me. or the gay community. Ratilfarts is an idiot. What the hell he knows is beyond me. Don't listen to that dumbass. Prejean just articulated how she defined marriage — which is how all societies have defined the institution since time immemorial, by gender difference.* By the way ratilfart, you are a pig.

Google Chrome Syncs Bookmarks Almost Instantly
merrie
by merrie  11-5-2009
While the new bookmark sync feature is welcome, it’s only part of the puzzle. Cookies, passwords, and more is what users will expect. Browser and search history are likely desirable bits of data too, but Google offers the option to provide the search history, regardless of browser. chrome-bookmark-syncI’d expect most of these additional sync points to be worked out in time for the Chrome OS " the platform is meant to power companion computers, and what better devices would benefit from an immersive browser sync experience?

Thankfulness Tree
bignosemousie
by bignosemousie  11-4-2009    6
This is the second year we have had a Thankfulness Tree. I have some fake branches that I put in a big vase to hold the leaves. I went to a scrapbooking store and used their die cut machine to make many many leaves from paper. If you buy the paper there, you can use the machines for free. I punched holes in the leaves to hang on the branches without having to mess with string or glue or hangers of any sort. I place the leaves in a bowl with a pen so any guests that come during November can write something they are thankful for on a leaf and hang it up. On Thanksgiving we read the leaves and we give thanks for all the friends and family that have come to our house. Then I put the leaves in a bag and date it so we can read them in future years too. Yesterday, my daughter wrote that she was thankful for "being born" and for "being in this family." I am so thankful for those things too. Go, get your thankfulness on!

The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle
sahara
by sahara  11-4-2009    1
The next day, Dennis said goodbye to Nubs, but he didn't forget about the dog. He began mentioning Nubs in emails he wrote to friends and family back home. "I found a dog in the desert," Dennis wrote in an email in October 2007. "I call him Nubs. We clicked right away. He flips on his back and makes me rub his stomach." "Every couple of weeks, we'd go back to the border fort and I'd see Nubs every time," says Dennis. "Each time, he followed us around a little more." And every time the men rumbled away in their Humvees, Nubs would run after them. On one trip to the border fort in December 2007, Dennis found Nubs was badly wounded in his left side where he'd been stabbed with a screwdriver. "The wound was infected and full of pus," Dennis recalls. "We pulled out our battle kits and poured antiseptic on his wound and force fed him some antibiotics wrapped in peanut butter." That night, Nubs was in so much pain that he refused food and water and slept standing up.

Fulgurites - Fossilized Lightening
celestialdancer
by celestialdancer  11-4-2009
"Archaeologists working near Corrie Village on the cost of Scotland’s Isle of Arrran in 1966 made an astonishing discovery: a fossilized fulgurite! Judging from the age and nature of the surrounding sandstone, the lightning strike which created the fossil fulgurite occurred some 250 million years ago at the end of the Permian Period. Though our planet has changed much since that ancient era before the dinosaurs even appeared, the fundamental physical processes that drive the hydrological cycle, including lightning, obviously have not..." Fortresses Of Solitude And Sanctuary
ericgyoung

Many of us have seen photographs of the Buddhist monasteries in Asia, perched precariously among the clouds. But, did you know that Greece, like Asia, has a number of similar architectural wonders? Today's San Francisco Chronicle ran the first photograph I clipped below, which I founded stunning. This particular monastery is known as Roussanou Monastery in Meteora, Greece. The word "meteora" is typically translated as "suspended in the air," a reference to the lofty sandstone pillars on which the monasteries are built. Roussanou is not the only such monastery in the region; in fact, there are 6. I clipped some additonal photos from Meteora, which I hope you will enjoy. They are, in the order presented: Agios Nikoloas Anapafsa Monastery, Agias Triados (Holy Trinity) Monastery, and the Grand Meteron Monastery. My personal favorite, however, is the last picture. Though it shows the scaffolding of repair-work, it also shows off the beautiful hues of blue I associate
