About me My first political experiences came with Democratic politicians. I was an intern in the Chicago office of Illinois Senator Richard J. Durbin. In this first internship I was responsible for administrative tasks. The next experiences came in the political arena volunteering for various candidates. I volunteered for John Edwards for President, Dan Hynes for Senate, Dan Rutherford for Secretary of State, and Paul Vallas for Governor. Then I had an internship with the Cook County republican party as part of a requirement for my bachelor's degree. I was an administrative intern. Currently, I am in an internship with The Heartland Institute. I volunteered with them for one year before I received the internship. I became a Republican after attending the DNC convention in 2004. My experience, while enjoyable, taught me that I could not be a Democrat because I did not share some key beliefs with the Democrats. | |
