POPSMcCain Claims Obama Dishonorable & Dangerous This site has been put up by the Obama campaign: http://www.keatingeconomics.com/ This site, above, tells the truth and gives facts about the last banking scandal -- in which John McCain was involved. The guy at the center of the scandal went to jail. McCain got officially censored by the Senate. It's the Republicans who have PROVED themselves dishonorable and dangerous -- who led us into the black stupid hole of Iraq War -- who destroyed our economy. We can't let these warmongers and liars continue to rule our country. We need to Defeat Republicans! Now. Later start the war crime trials and trials for shredding the Constitution and deliberately leading a nation into war based on lies, torture against the Geneva convention, etc. These vampires and blood suckers will not die till we drive a firm stake into their hearts. Every word out of their mouths is false and dangerous. Vote Obama.

POPSNew Cold War on Short Fuse
I believe we are now closer to a real and large-scale nuclear war, more so than every other time in human history. The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 is considered the previous time we came so close to starting a large-scale nuclear war. (There's a good movie about this: "Thirteen Days," and a quick summary of the Cuban Missile crisis can be found, at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis) In addition to this reality and one difference between how President John Kennedy handled it and how the Bush-Cheny-Rice White House is handling it is: President Kennedy took it seriously and he got on TV and told the nation and the world that this was heavy-duty dangerous. Today, repeatedly, the White House says, like in the clip here: "Washington Downplayed it's significance." News Flash - neither in 1962 or now will Russia allow a U.S. missile base be put on it's border. News Flash - Russia will not let the West steal it's Caspian Sea Oil. News Flash - Russia is right.

POPS$700 billion defense policy bill passes Passed yesterday. Almost no mention of it. All efforts to halt or limit the war deleted. News report confusing. The leaders of the Democratic Party appear to believe, as others have suggested, that there best way to win the most in the 2008 elections is to NOT do anything to oppose the war -- because that might backfire against them. Yet, take advantage of the fact there IS strong anti-war feelings that will hurt the Republican Party. (With an assumption that the anti-war "lefties & liberals," have no choice but to vote for them anyhow; since there is no way the "lefties & liberals" would vote Republican. This COULD BE very astute, and the way candidate/Senator Hillary Clinton would like the most, she being a "centralist," and not wanting to be labeled "lefty or liberal." Those who die between now and then are dying for politics 2008. Also in today's news: Obama was a drug dealer.

POPSBush puppet video: More War or Less Jobs
At least Bush is providing a lot of stimulus for the creative arts. This threat to suspend without pay over a hundred thousand civilian worker unless he get's his next dose of war funding is true. How pathetic. Like a poor loser on the playground who threatens to take his ball and go home. Of course the fact that the "limits" on the war that Bush is objecting to is another Democrat charade, with "more holes than Swiss cheese," that would allow the war to continue and continue and continue puts many of us in a quandry: Advocate the pretense and charade of the Democrat bill or just sit back and watch Bush veto it (if it ever passes). Decisions. Decisions. The key deceit is this "anti-war," resolution, HR 4156 allows troops to stay to "protect American assets." These "assets," include the 14 or 15 permanent military bases being built for a long-term occupation; part of the war plans from the beginning. Humm...maybe Obama would do the least damage.? (hope the video works)

POPSUS Army desertion rates up 80% since 2003 The real facts of this illegitimate war in Iraq -- like these latest desertion stastics -- are cruel and horrible. I guess it will all spill out eventually. It has also been unfair to these soldiers. The National Guard has never been the main forces used for a foreign war before. They had always previously been a 'national' guard, a 'home' guard and now they have been thrown on the front lines of a war, again and again.

POPSWar Bills From Both Parties Fail in Senate_Nov07
At least the politicians and press are no longer saying they need 60 votes to pass a bill -- they only need 51 votes, a simple majority -- to not only pass any legislation BUT they could also change their 60-vote 'cut off debate,' current procedure...change it with the vote of a simple majority. So, if they wanted to get serious, #1, change the procedure which currently requires 60 votes to prevent a filibuster; change this with a 51% vote. OR #2 Have the filibuster. Force the Republicans to stand up and talk for 24-hours a day. Outlast them. Fight them. But no, not this week. Time to go home for Thanksgiving. You sort of wish they'd all get stripped searched at the airport but one thing is clear (and good)...the Republican counter-offer, the $70 billion with no anti-war strings attached also did not get passed so, clearly, this battle has been postponed. Time will tell. Tune after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, BTW, is a very nice holiday. Almost everyone but AIM would prob

POPSStop half-the-war bill passes House.
"There's no way to get there from here," someone once said. One big step forward, at least, is that it has a name and number so when trying to talk about it you don't have to say things like: "The 2nd Amendment to Fall Supplemental Funding" This bill is called the Orderly and Responsible Iraq Redeployment Appropriations Act, HR 2957. One good idea is a clear policy against torture. There also appears to be a clear requirement that the government must start a withdrawal of troops. This article clipped here, though, distorts several provisions of the actual bill. If interested in comparing this ONE sample of distortion and propaganda spin, the actual text of the legislation can be found here, at: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.02956 which does NOT ask for a Full Withdrawal of troops by Dec. 2008 but a Limited Withdrawal by April 2008. Gosh...Bush could bring one soldier home by and meet the requirement. At least we're getting another Holocaust Muse

POPSAnti-war what?
These quote -- except the first one -- are from Democrats and concern a $50 billion bill that adds funds , today, for the war. It almost sounds like the Democrats are going to do something real. While the Republicans continue to play one of their final gambits: i.e. - We should support the war because we have to support the troops. This 50-billion dollar bill has nothing more than a pretense of war opposition....with a provision to "begin the redeployment of our brave men and women,"..requiring that President Bush initiate troop withdrawals within 30 days of its passage with the goal of bringing home most soldiers and Marines by Dec. 15, 2008 -- but this goal of "most" troops withdrawn is NOT a requirement, not real at all and -- even worse -- puts out the idea that "enough soldiers and Marines are to be left behind to fight terrorists, train Iraqi security forces and protect U.S. assets." Ah...."protect US assests,' Such as the 14 or permanent military bases that are appare

POPSPutin makes confrontation with US clear
FYI: Russia's President Putin has been making it Very Clear he's willing to have a military confrontation with the USA, most specifically with the USA plans for putting missiles in Poland. Putin has said if such missiles are every put there he will "neutralize" them. Russia has also re-started air flights of planes with nuclear weapons on the USA border, near Alaska. Putin has declared Russia is 're-targetting,' major European cities. He's insisting the USA back down with the predicted war with Iran. in this clip, though, I had to 'surgically' edit the headline and the story. The headline, for example, says Putin is 'escalating a nuclear war of words.' This is a weak attempt to cover up the facts: Russia's threats are not 'a war of words.' Clipmarks is a 'war of words.' Flying nuclear weapons along a country's border is not 'words.' But the sick and slick USA and other propaganda would like to continue to pretend what other countries think makes no difference. Wrong. Very wr

POPSLibya & Vietnam Elected toUN Security Council
QUOTE - The times they are a'changin' - END QUOTE This AMAZING news sounds like the last nail being pounded into the coffin of the UN giving approval for the USA starting wars, especially the most recent War in Iraq based on deliberately fabricated lies presented to the UN by then Sec. of State Collin Powell, or the War in Vietnam, also based on a fabrication of the US being assaulted in the Gulf of Tonkin and absurd propaganda --- reprinted in this very newclip -- about "fighting communism." If the USA was really inrtested in "fighting communism," we wouldn't be buying tons and tons of Chinese goods or sinking deeper and deeper into debt to Communist China. Since it should be illustrative to today's war news it's worth pointing out that to the Vietnamese the American War was about Nationalism and Independence. They were fighting a colonial and imperialistic power that was seeking to dominate and divide their country. Sound familiar? It's the same Old Story today.

POPSIra Dang...I guess this is what is called "peace," although I was personally hoping that because the war was mobilized on deliberately fabricated lies that perhaps we should just end it completely. Apparently less than 25% of the USA people feel this way. More apparently, it seems the 'fix is on,' and the desires of Oil companies and Israel rule. http://www.americancitizenstogether.org I still think we should impeach the bastards, starting with Cheney. Then we have to work hard in the primaries to elect better leaders, trying to get real people who believe in real peace and not just the ongoing occupation that was the Big Plan to begin with (and the subsequent war with Iran). Plus, we can start recall drives against all the politicians we can, starting with the worst of them. This will help kick out some of the warmongers or pacified status quo puppets. This is real action. I'm not pacified yet. I'm not into being "reasonable." I'm not into being sucked down this sick war

POPSZionist seek to shut down discussions and writings
The authors, two well-respected professors from big name universities, are now being portrayed and anti-Jewish racist. It's like what happen to former President Carter when he wrote: "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid." Yet, amazingly, nearly everybody knows this is true: pro-Israeli lobbying dominates US foreign policy. The additional point is made that this is not good for America, although the authors, trying to remain reasonable, point out that they also feel the lobbying by the Cuban groups, the tobacco companies, oil companies, etc. also has extreme influence on USA policies and is also not good for the country. "Not only is Israeli policy and lobbying fatally flawed," the authors say, "but USA policy is also fatally flawed." What could be a more reasonable observation than that? The real pickle is...the real kosher pickle we're sucking on is that saying this is forbidden fruit and leads to insults and injury (in jobs, etc.). Yup, the kosher pickle is forbidden f

POPSTrash the Status Quo! Kick out Warmongers!
I have finally gotten to the point of clipping my own blog: These are desperate times indeed; (but I'm also putting my money where my mouth is) We need to kick the Status Quo in the ass. I'm sorry if my language has lost it's patience on this but I need to make it clear: We have gangsters in the White House and wimps, liers and warmongers in Congress. Thus, direct citizen action is the only thing that will actually DO something and the tools our Founding Fathers put in the Constitution are the bottom line, are the only tools we have left: initiative, referendum or recall. We need to Recall Republican governors in every state possible. Everything else is bull*shit. I' pledge to pay the cost for startup. PS - check out the blog. It's sweet and to the point. For more info got to: http://www.americancitizenstogether.org Note: citizenbfk is no stranger to politics. POPSSheehan pledges to run again Pelosi if no impeachment.
Our political system is a mess. In a parlimentary system you can kcik a leader out easier. Bush and Cheney would be gone. But what about where we are here and now? There is a madness in doing more to attack your friends more than your enemies, a madness which I think Sheehan and Code Pink are doing: The Republicans are the greater warmongers. Can't they find some way to hassle Republicans. But the problems is compounded when your "friends," (i.e. the Democrats) are sell-outs, too. When their idea of "peace," is introduced in the Senate today and it includes: permament bases, a permament presence of troops (now called: "trainers,) and the other idea of complete conquest starting to also slip in: 'dividing Iraq into three parts.' I think if we really ant to challenge the Status Quo we need to start recalling Republican governors: NOW. This will help weaken the Republican party: NOW and we can do it ourselves, without politicians agreeing. http://www.americancitizenstogether.or

POPSWhite House efforts to cover-up lies leading US into war admitted.
As Bush says here: "We should move on." He should move on to honor his promise to fire anyone who leaked CIA operative's name (i.ie. Cheney and Rove). We should also "move on," to impeachments since this is an admission of betraying one of one's own agents and endangering contacts and work of this CIA operative. We should "move on," to now continuing the Fitzgerald investigation : The crime of revealing the identity of a covert CIA agent did happen. Bush just admitted it. Note: She WAS a covert CIA agent. We should also "move on," to war crime trials since all this involved trying to cover-up the use of deliberately fabricated information (used in the State of the Nation) to mislead and mobilize our nation into a false and misdirected war for the beneift only of special interests and other nations, resulting in the death of approx. 3,600 USA troops, waste of billions, murder and destruction of a nation. This false claim war claims Saddam was trying to buy uranium

POPSPaving the way towards War in Iran:Writing on the Wall
Once-upon-a-time something called a "Declaration of War," was required before invading another country. But since World World Two our nation has 'sneaked,' into wars on resolutions such as this; once deceptive step at a time. Lieberman, one of the zionist extremist in our Congress, has already made his position clear. In a press release from his office last week that said: that Tehran "has already declared war on the US," by it alleged actions that contribute to the deaths of US troops. Very clever. Who could be in favor of seeing the troops of one's own nation killed. Did we need a Senate resolution today to say that? No. Behind this universal sentiment of not wanting to see one's troops killed Lieberman gets the Senate to all agree that we should "confront," those who are killing our troops. It's not war, see? It's "confronting." Bush agrees. Of course, our invading Iraq for lies is inconsequential. & Note:The third aircraft-carrier, Enterprise, just got sent to the

POPSRepublicans Refuse to give troops a decent break.
I think I got this headline right. US Senator Jim Webb is one of the few in Congress who was actually in a war. Using the National Guard to fight in a foreign war in the first place is a rip off; now coldly denying them a decent time to re-connect to their homes and ready for the next in an endless series of deployments, is a cold-hearted action by Congress towards it's own people and shows that it is these warmongering Republicans who -- based on this one vote alone -- can be seen as Not Supporting Our Troops. (Who actually, BTW, besides these Republicans todays, is NOT keen on supporting our troops!? Just more propaganda bullshit). And now it seems, again, that we have even lost majority rule!? What this things about needing 60-votes to get something passed. As we see by the vote here, if we went back to majority rule this amendment would be passed. How come 60 votes weren't required when the Republicans controlled Congress. This whole situations sucks. I bet Senator W

POPSReheating the Cold War: And other Bush failures
OK - I try to stick to one issue at a time but this Relaunching of the Cold War and nuclear missle threat to Europe, the USA, etc. is beginning to bother me. Just some of the dangerous insanities. A#1 - The USA is building a missle base on the border of Russia. The first lie is that this is for: Defense. The second incredible lies is that this is for defense against Iran. OMG. Get a map. Look at the map. See Spot run. See Poland. See Iran. Even if USA claims are true don't you think there's a better location - even if Iran had missiles? In fact, playing pin the tail on the donkey could come up with a better location. 2. Russia keeps saying if the USA puts missiles on Russia's border, then Russia will aim it's nuclear missles at all major cities in Europe. 3.. The USA keeps saying: "We like Putin but he's overreacting. 4. Russian officials have to send people over to make it clear: "Stop saying you like us. Deal with the substantive issue." Another dangerous policy

POPSTen More Years for the Surge to Work? This whole article is worth it, along with the 200 comments it's gotten in half a day. I believe a serious, legal, democratic challenge to the Status Quo needs to be made by the direct action of people: Start Recall Drives against Republican governors, since Republicans are the most warmongering party, since the White House contines to talk and act on expanding the wars in the Middle East and Iran, and since our politicians refuse to start impeachments (Cheney first!). I wish my state was one of the seven where this is possible, but it is not. For more details, check out: http;//www.americancitizenstogether.org

POPSUS Senate votes 50-48 to keep Iraq War Withdrawal deadline
I heard a special limo caravan was sent out for Dick Cheney to rush him over to Congress in case a tie-breaking vote was needed; like if just ONE Senator had shifted and the vote was 49-49; then Cheney could have made it 50-49. So, it was that close: It was One Vote close. (symptomatic of how Bush keeps acting in ways to DIVIDE the nation; but also symptomatic of the people's will in our recent last elections, and the new Democratic power in Congress to challenge Bush and expose his lies and corruption.) I heard that Cheney's motocade speed to the White House but it was a wasted trip-- there was no tie -- he (nor Bush) could do nothing about it. I would have loved to be in that motorcade as it somberly drove back to Cheney's White House office. Yea...the war is over. Realistically, it may take another year. Realistically all troop may never actually leave; just give up prime combat roles. Realistically plans for permanent bases are still there...but..4sure, the tide has ch
