    U.N. on Israeli War Crimes

The Goldstone Report now has been approved overwhelmingly by the UN General Assembly. The report calls for Israel to investigate it's war crime accusations...and for the Palestinians to investiage theirs -- and says the slow starvation of over a million and half people in the Gaza Strip should stop. Now, it seems it goes to the Security Council. Which means, if things go as usual, the USA will veto it and it will end there. The USA has does similar actions at the UN for decades, protecting Israel, no matter what. The USA House of Congress has even gone on record, this week, opposing this war crimes report. Israel yesterday seized a ship with weapons and said they come from Iran and this was a war crime...also pointing out that Russia, the USA, China, etc. are all guility of war crimes. The conclusion appears to be that war is a war crime. Everybody's guilty. And let's just forget it. ...um, except when talking about the Nazi's of WWII or the Bosnian Serbs curre

California here we come! --- An exodus similar to the Great Depression will soon be heading west. Go West, young person, there you will find a new world. But, seriously....the hypocracy of the nation pushing booze and pills massively on TV everyday, while sending pot smokers to jail, is at a turning point. The turning point is that the U.S. will stop using federal law to arrest individual marijuana consumers. This allows each of the 50-states to set their own laws about it...sort of like the idea of our Constitution and democracy intended -- prior to evil leaders trying to use a "War on Drugs," as as excuse before the "Global War on Terrorism," came along. 14 states have already made personal consumption of marijuana a non-criminal offense (so no need to rush out to northern California...although it's thriving out there, no doubt) These states did this change even though it was moot ---- till now. Over a thousand Palestinian civilians were killed in the last Gaza Strip invasion; 3 Israeli civilians killed. Note: the U.S. kills dozens of civilians every week. They just say: "We didn't mean it." The real issues are policies of genocide in the deliberate destruction of Palestinian water supplies and infrastructure, sewage plants, electrical supplis, destruction of industries and farmland, livestock, prohibition on fishing, travel, emprisoned in the Strip, blockade of needed goods including supplies for rebuilding, etc. -- policies designed to totally destroy and/or remove a population based on race.

Last week Iran told the UN's IAEA that it has a nuclear enrichment plant under construction (with no nuclear material in it and over a year away from being operational). That's the fact. Iran telling this info was all properly done in accord with the IAEA, the NPT, and the U.N. terms it has signed onto. Note: Some nations, like Israel and India, have nukes but haven't signed these agreements...so just signing onto these agreements is the first step in "trying to do the right thing." But major Western powers and Israel have jumped all over this -- go to war with Iran are now once again the raging headlines -- just like misleading nations into the War in Iraq based on unfounded speculation now the drums of war call for a War in Iran based on unfounded speculation - fabrication - distortions - manipulation. Creates a nice evil image of the enemy. But...Palestine is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Afghanistan is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Iraq is not fighitng for Islam. It's fighting to get it's country back from invaders who started the war based on deliberate fabricated lies. I hope more of us wake up to this and point it out, put it down where and when we see it: we're being sold a false bill of goods....the USA declaring worldwide wars outside the bounds of it's own Constitution, and using lies and propaganda and a one-sided view of who's right and excusing all it's own wrongs.      This incomplete and unconfirmed story, aka "leak," hints that the President may not go along with the Pentagon request for more troops in Afghanistan. Although, that's still just a "leak," right now and there has been no official request for more troops. It seems we're once again in a "battle of the leaks," -- people sending out anonymous ideas and checking out the responses. The rabid right-wing will make up lies and jump on everything to smear Obama...and there are some landmine issues that could cripple any president: 1. Backing down to the Russians....a big American no-no...and that's now claimed, plus: 2. Not supporting troops/war -- 3. Not offering special deals and blind, uncritical support for Israel. Yet, the President appears to be keeping his head straight, despite the rabid right -- defeating Al-Qaeda makes sense, at least. Nation building and long term in Afghanistan....where did that idea come from? Or War in Iraq? -- build on lies. War in Iran?

While it makes a lot of sense to want to capture and/or kill Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda leadership, George Bush twisted that into War in Iraq and this War in Afghanistan...and it seems the guys we're looking for aren't in either of those places. So Western Pakistan is also being ripped up. Of course the war in Iraq we know was built on deliberately fabricated lies....the beating of war drums to start a War in Iran is built on propaganda and lies (Iran has no WMD's)...and much of this appears to be excuses for old-fashioned imperialism.      The headline here and in other US newspapers (and maybe other nations) implies DOUBT. But the statement is CONCERN about RECOMMENDATION. The UN evidence of Israeli war crimes appears very solid and it documents what amounts to genocide, imo. -- collective punishment, killing civilians deliberitely, destruction of farms, livestock, sewer systems, water treatment facilities, power plants, etc. How you can bath in so much blood and still proclaim innocence is amazing in and of itself, but part of human nature, it seems. How you can twist it, though, and claim others are mistreating you or being biased, is an extra astounding leap.

Other articles mention deliberate bulldozing of food sources, livestock, destruction of sewer and water plants, etc. Obviously, Israel accused the head judge, Goldstone, of bias. An anti-Semitic Jew? -- well, facts not as important in politics as much as consistent smear. I learned that Israel was preventing people in Gaza from farming and fishing. That pretty much makes it clear to me that Israel's policies = genocide, deliberately starving over a million and a half people to death, while they are imprisoned by a blockade. It was nice to see the U.N. recommend this blockade be lifted. It seems some Palestinians may have also committed war crimes, shooting rockets that may have hit civilians....there were 3 Israeli civilians killed in the latest conflict. Humm....but maybe they weren't given a chance to say they "didn't mean it." --- since U.S. (and NATO) kill dozens and dozens of civilians every week, but then they say "they didn't mean it."

If you don't know, btw, the idea comes from the USA having a Top 50 (Top 52) list of Iraqi alleged war criminals and putting their faces on a deck of cards (like this article does). Of course, these are just accusations. They should be arrested first, held in secret prisons for a few years, tortured and then maybe...maybe we have a trial for a few of them. That would be Bush League Justice (i.e., injustice). Maybe a few on the list are innocent or dupes...but we should let that get in the way. I note the clip calls not only for activist, U.S. appropriate officials but also for foreign courts and the International Criminal Court to get involved. That would be a good thing to lobby for, esp. for those who live outside the country, could put lobby effort there...because you can't expect a guilty nation to hold guilty people as accountable as they should...it's sort of like expecting a fox to guard the hen house.

USA Elections: Voting Started - Democrats Coming On Strong.,,,even in Georgia!

This is a good clip for current info on the "battleground states." Which way these states vote will be critical to who wins: Ohio,Pennsylvania, Virgina and Florida. All states count, of course but the four states above are the big ones that swing back and forth and could go either way and thus make the difference. But Virginia? North Carolina!? Georgia!? Wow! - In the USA Civil War, 150 years ago, it was a war between Northern States and Southern States (of that time). If looking at the USA Election Map for the last 150 years, it's been the very exact same dividing line....the same dividing line as in the USA Civil War: The Northern States (of that time) vote one way; the Southern States (of that time) vote another. For the Democrats to win in Virginia - capital of the South, would change all that...(and Obama now ahead). If they win North Carolina...incredible! shocking! If Obama wins Georgia..OMG! OMG! It would be a victory not just for now, but a 150 y

McCain Claims Obama Dishonorable & Dangerous

This site has been put up by the Obama campaign: http://www.keatingeconomics.com/ This site, above, tells the truth and gives facts about the last banking scandal -- in which John McCain was involved. The guy at the center of the scandal went to jail. McCain got officially censored by the Senate. It's the Republicans who have PROVED themselves dishonorable and dangerous -- who led us into the black stupid hole of Iraq War -- who destroyed our economy. We can't let these warmongers and liars continue to rule our country. We need to Defeat Republicans! Now. Later start the war crime trials and trials for shredding the Constitution and deliberately leading a nation into war based on lies, torture against the Geneva convention, etc. These vampires and blood suckers will not die till we drive a firm stake into their hearts. Every word out of their mouths is false and dangerous. Vote Obama.

New Cold War on Short Fuse

I believe we are now closer to a real and large-scale nuclear war, more so than every other time in human history. The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 is considered the previous time we came so close to starting a large-scale nuclear war. (There's a good movie about this: "Thirteen Days," and a quick summary of the Cuban Missile crisis can be found, at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis) In addition to this reality and one difference between how President John Kennedy handled it and how the Bush-Cheny-Rice White House is handling it is: President Kennedy took it seriously and he got on TV and told the nation and the world that this was heavy-duty dangerous. Today, repeatedly, the White House says, like in the clip here: "Washington Downplayed it's significance." News Flash - neither in 1962 or now will Russia allow a U.S. missile base be put on it's border. News Flash - Russia will not let the West steal it's Caspian Sea Oil. News Flash - Russia is right.

$700 billion defense policy bill passes

Passed yesterday. Almost no mention of it. All efforts to halt or limit the war deleted. News report confusing. The leaders of the Democratic Party appear to believe, as others have suggested, that there best way to win the most in the 2008 elections is to NOT do anything to oppose the war -- because that might backfire against them. Yet, take advantage of the fact there IS strong anti-war feelings that will hurt the Republican Party. (With an assumption that the anti-war "lefties & liberals," have no choice but to vote for them anyhow; since there is no way the "lefties & liberals" would vote Republican. This COULD BE very astute, and the way candidate/Senator Hillary Clinton would like the most, she being a "centralist," and not wanting to be labeled "lefty or liberal." Those who die between now and then are dying for politics 2008. Also in today's news: Obama was a drug dealer.

Bush puppet video: More War or Less Jobs

At least Bush is providing a lot of stimulus for the creative arts. This threat to suspend without pay over a hundred thousand civilian worker unless he get's his next dose of war funding is true. How pathetic. Like a poor loser on the playground who threatens to take his ball and go home. Of course the fact that the "limits" on the war that Bush is objecting to is another Democrat charade, with "more holes than Swiss cheese," that would allow the war to continue and continue and continue puts many of us in a quandry: Advocate the pretense and charade of the Democrat bill or just sit back and watch Bush veto it (if it ever passes). Decisions. Decisions. The key deceit is this "anti-war," resolution, HR 4156 allows troops to stay to "protect American assets." These "assets," include the 14 or 15 permanent military bases being built for a long-term occupation; part of the war plans from the beginning. Humm...maybe Obama would do the least damage.? (hope the video works)

US Army desertion rates up 80% since 2003

The real facts of this illegitimate war in Iraq -- like these latest desertion stastics -- are cruel and horrible. I guess it will all spill out eventually. It has also been unfair to these soldiers. The National Guard has never been the main forces used for a foreign war before. They had always previously been a 'national' guard, a 'home' guard and now they have been thrown on the front lines of a war, again and again.
