    McCain Going Down
    citizenbfk
    by citizenbfk  11-24-2009
John McCain was the Republican candidate for President in the last election, running against Barrack Obama. He's up for relection in 2010. Now it looks like he's going to lose his Senate seat, facing a primary challenge in his own party. Point 1. The horses are lining up at the starting gate for the 2010 elections. (one year ahead of voting day, par for the course) McCain is one of my U.S. Senators and I'd love to dance on his political grave. I'm joyful planning on it.... I've remained registered Democrat so I can vote in the Demo primaries. Up to now there hasn't been a good candidate because McCain was previously invincible. Now the cracks are showing -- A big problem is that Democrats always lose this seat because they mouth the national policy on immigration while the vast majority of us in this state --- a state on the border with Mexico -- have a whole different real-world perspective on an out-of-control border. We want the border controlled, like all nations do

Latest Cheney & CIA Crime Exposed?

Step-by-step the noose has been tightening around the neck of former U.S. VP Dick Cheney. Tens of thousands of citizens have kept up the pressure for accountability and like water pressure behind a large dam, the cracks are finally showing. In this clip, even conservative Republican Senator John McCain (who is against a torture investigation) now says - today on major TV Sunday news show -- that Cheney has to answer questions about this....that's the start. Karl Rove is finally, last week, being officially deposed by DOJ lawyers. This giving testimony, answering questions under oath, is also a start. Now, also reported, new AG Eric Holder is considering an investigation into the torture issue. A real investigation by the Justice Dept, with real potential legal consequences.(i.e. jail). I think the pressure had to keep on pushing and build up like this. Rome wasn't built in a day. Cleaning up a house flooded by crime doesn't happen overnight.

Madonna's Revised Video Interlude: An Ecological Message

Video Interlude = a wall of big screen video played during a concert. -- When this 'Video Interlude,' was first show in Wales, on her Sticky & Sweet Tour she was ripped apart by the U.S. press for allegedly comparing McCain to a Nazi and putting out such a direct pro-Obama message. Of course it has to be remembered that Republican politics in America is based on complaints, accusations, trying to stifle voices and votes, intimidate people and personally try to destroy all opponents. In fact, this Video Interlude had no specific text message. Although McCain wasn't shown in much of a positive light, while Obama certainly was. After this incredible Video Interlude in Wales Madonnna's tour has now arrived in the USA, now -- after the elections. So it seems this Video Interlude -- while keeping the same song ('Get Stupid') -- now has a a strong ecological message. Although not as mind-blowing as the original it now has an impact in this new direction. Pretty coo

West Coast Polls Just Closed: Obama Projected Winner !

Two minutes ago CNN projected Obama will be the 44th President of the United States of America. Virgina, also, capital of the Confederacy during the USA Civil War, becomes the first state in the Old South to go Democratic. Obama had to "flip a red state blue," to be assured of winning - Virginia was the state where that happen. Florida was next. Victory was then certain. But when California reported it's results.. it was over. Obama had won; Obama was over the 270 amount of votes he needed. Um...People at Obama's huge rally in Chicago are going wild in joy and celebration. McCain comes out 20 minutes after the West Coast polls close and conceded defeat and congratulated Obama -- and urged all his supporters to offer him - the new President -- good will and good effort; and that it's time to move beyond disappointment and work together. It's cool. It's really great. An incredible triumph in American history. A dark past has been firmly left behind. We hope that t

Current electoral vote total: Obama 194; McCain 69 Three important states on the East Coast remain undeclared but with Obama leading in two: Florida and North Carolina. Virgina too close to call. Virginia and North Carolina are two states of the "Old South -- the Old Confederacy from the USA Civil War," ...north and they have never gone Democratic before (or maybe once, or something) The Virginia Senate seat has been declared a victory for the Democrats...who are picking up House and Senates seats big time.

Over 340 would be a LANDSLIDE VICTORY. Things also looking better for Democrats in both the House and Senate, much better than expected and the non-stoppable ruling total of 60 Senators even appears possible. Folks had been saying McCain's chances were like hoping to draw into an inside straight. Now, though, it looks like he needs a miracle. Obama continues to campaign on this Election Day, in a firmly held Republican state. He appears determined not just to win but to make gains in many traditional Republican states, "redrawing the electoral map." -- changes that might last for decades.

The idea here, some have suggested, is to suggest an anti-war appeal: If Obama is elected war with Iran will start. This incredible twisted suggestion is typical of other new McCain ideas, like he is the one really opposed to Bush policies although he voted for them 90% of the time. The twisted idea, too, that McCain's support for tax breaks for the SuperRich and Corporations is really to help out 'Joe the Plumber,' because the wealth will 'trickle down.' According to this twisted reasoning, McCain is the anti-war in Iran, anti-Bush policy guy, and pro-voice for the Middle and lower classes. ?? Other Republicans also just, seriously, going nuts: that McCain campaign worker who carved a B into her cheek (backwards) and tried to blame it on a "Black pro-Obama mugger." ?? Latest...some Republican arrested for making death threats against the Sec. of State of Ohio (who's in charge of elections) -- because she shut down a Republican attempt at voter suppression. ??

Billy Kristol is also a McCain supporter and advisor and probably the most visible and prominent pro-Israeli neocon (the so-called 'neoconservatives.' - besides his newspaer, his leadership in the American Institute pro-Israel lobby group, he is also a commentator on Fox News, the most outrageous right-wing mainstream mouthpiece. This also points out another problem: Media Driven Issues. The media has just been making up one issue after another than is not an issue to nobody else but them: media fabricated issues...and often just to raise hackles or excitement and thus have more people tune in. With race, it's been called: The Bradley Effect.      It's started: People switching sides. The rats abandoning the ship. The excuses. The questions in the newspapers and bluntly put forth on TV: What did McCain do wrong? Indeed, What did McCain do wrong? Now -- although we have to kick his butt for 10 more days -- but now it's somewhat sad like seeing a boxer past his prime being beaten to the floor. But no mercy. No pity. We have to finish the job. Vote Obama. Talk Up Obama. 10 More Days and if we race on we win, America wins. It's hard to kill these monsters, like in the movies. You gotta have a special bullet for the Wolf Man; Count Dracula has to have a stake planted in his heart. We have to continue to do it: This old man is looking foolish, speaking in broken and twisted sentences not even able to keep his words straight. The false smile painted on a face no longer convincing to anyone. What honor he once may have had now forever tarnished. His legacy now summed up with one word: failure. The Post-Mortems have

    SNL Oct.24th - A Bush = McCain Blast!

You have to go here to see this SNL clip, at: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/update-thursday-bush-endorsement/783981/ (and maybe a 13-sec commercial to sit through) Bush=McCain was hammered home. The final pose of this Fatal Threesome (Bush - McCain - Palin) is worth it alone and today all over the TV news. Notable, I though, was not the 'theme,' that McCain doesn't want his photo taken with Bush, but the rather emphatic and repeated emphasis in the skit that Bush=McCain. McCain = Bush. This is a winning tactic for Obama and one he has been pushing hard. for SNL (Saturday Night Live) to do this so exaggerated (but effective) will help. I don't think I've seen such a clear endorsement -- an effective endorsement -- in a comedy skit.

11 Days Away: McCain Campaign Collapsing

Obama is still going around busting his butt to tell everybody to bust their butt harder than they've ever worked before. Smart guy. With early voting now going on in some states he and Hilary and Biden and specifically telling folks at his massive rallies: "Leave here, go to your election centers, Vote Right Now!" But it couldn't look much worse for McCain. Besides the facts and figures of his falling popularity and growing lead: lead in the national pols growing, lead in the critical 'battleground states,' growing -- besides these numbers you can see the Defeat in his face and in the faces of those who talk for him. You can hear more excuses coming out of his campaign headquarters about why it was so hard for them and they are not doing well (excuses that are as pathetic as their campaign). We hear more Republicans actually switching sides and giving Obama endorsements. (like Colin Powell.) Stunned negative media is shutting up. The idea of Obama as president sinki

OPEC Cuts Oil Production: NATO Not Happy.

NATO, i.e. the EU and the United States. "Scandalous." says British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. IMO, The best thing I think we could do is make it our highest priority to produce alternative energies (and cut energy use-conserve) We should make this a WAR. The WAR to fund and find ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES. This is the Obama Plan --and, of course, it was and is the thinking of many in Europe and around the world. McCain wants to: "Drill, baby drill!" But Obama is right, we can't drill ourselves out of this problem. If we spent as much money as we now spend on the war in Iraq (12-14 billions a month?) I seriously think we could do it...not just on the science we know now but the science we could discover as we move forward (like we discovered the A-bomb at end of WWII...we could discover the "A-Bomb of Alternative Energy." Worst idea? > Using the lie of spreading Freedom and Democracy to invade and occupy more oil rich countries.

Obama says: "McCain puts Wall Street first, Main St. last"

Thank goodness someone has the clarity of thought, power and force to break through the miasma of Republican swamp gas that has drugged the American people for so many years and turned them into zombies. WALL STREET SOCIALISM is what the Republican party has always been about. Giving more favorable tax treatment to the SuperRich then to the average person is what the Republicans have always been about. Absurd promises which have never proved true about how the wealth will "trickle down," is what the Republicans have always been about. Calling someone a socialist or a communist or a terrorist inciting class warfare when they propose fair tax treatment is what the Republicans have always been about. Saying they want smaller government and then doubling the national debt and making budgets with the greatest deficits is what the Republicans have always been about. Concentrating wealth and power into the top 1% of the nation and destroying the middle class is what Republic
