POPSBritish Begin Iraq War Inquiry
Some folks are predicting just another whitewash, like the previous Butler report and other but i guess we should wait and see. Some part of the inquiry will be behind closed doors, which may be reasonable if there are true security concerns but could also allow facts to be hidden. People who testify will not be under oath, which is a bad sign, indicating no responsibility to tell the truth. According to exposed "Downing Street Memo," 5 years ago (Google it for more info) the Brits knew "the fix was in," and Bush was committed to start a war and making up whatever facts to justify starting a war. But it goes deeper then that. It was a British newspaper, quoting British intelligence, that first started the lie rolling about Saddam seeking to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger...based on forged documents coming out of the Italian intelligence agency. These forged documents are a hard fact smoking gun and so-called "rogue," CIA agents probably involved. americancitizensto

POPS"Global Islamic Terrorism." "Global Islamic Terrorism." --- the phrase of the New Crusades, the propaganda for long term worldwide war Sounds pretty slick. Rolls off the tongue easily. Doesn't take much thought. Creates a nice evil image of the enemy. But...Palestine is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Afghanistan is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Iraq is not fighitng for Islam. It's fighting to get it's country back from invaders who started the war based on deliberate fabricated lies. I hope more of us wake up to this and point it out, put it down where and when we see it: we're being sold a false bill of goods....the USA declaring worldwide wars outside the bounds of it's own Constitution, and using lies and propaganda and a one-sided view of who's right and excusing all it's own wrongs. ONE AND A HALF MILLION PEOPLE KILLED IN IRAQ! - someone said at the UN podium yesterday. And not one WMD. Who's the real terrorist? The real warmongers. T

POPSItaly PM: Exit Afghanistan Soon.
Statements by Berlusconi and other's in his administration appear contradictory. But on Italian TV he said: "We are all convinced it's best for everybody to get out soon." While it makes a lot of sense to want to capture and/or kill Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda leadership, George Bush twisted that into War in Iraq and this War in Afghanistan...and it seems the guys we're looking for aren't in either of those places. So Western Pakistan is also being ripped up. Of course the war in Iraq we know was built on deliberately fabricated lies....the beating of war drums to start a War in Iran is built on propaganda and lies (Iran has no WMD's)...and much of this appears to be excuses for old-fashioned imperialism. Old-fashioned imperialism sucks, imo. And recent months have revealed the dark hearts and vile hatred of USA Republican right_wing nut jobsm their motives are not good will or good faith but full of smear and insults. They should move to Afghanistan if they like i

POPSIraqi Puppet Government Falling Apart? The U.S. supported government of Nouri al-Maliki appears to be facing a serious challenge, couple with proposals to ask U.S. troops to leave a year earlier than already agreed upon. Maybe it's some consolation to know that you can murder hundreds of thousands of people in a war started with deliberate lies, but it can't last forever. This Bush, neo-con created house of cards will fall. It's just a question of when.

POPSYank Tourist on Kurd-Iran Border Arrested!?
In the news it says (all propaganda distortions) : "Tourist? "Self-ruled Kurdish region? Iran seeking to build nuke weapons? Criticized Iran's disputed elections? The Guardian? Of course (sarcasm mode) we have to start off believing that the war torn Iraq-Iran northern border is a prime spot for backpacking tourist. Then we have to accept that this Kurdish region is "self-ruled." - i.e. that Iraq is broken into pieces already when this would be a Civil War issue. (part of a 'divide and conquer Master Plan, no doubt) Then I suppose there are some "U.S. officials," who say Iran is trying to build nukes but this is Zionist extremist and Republican warmongering and the Obama administration is trying hard, in the face of non-stop international lies - to make a distinction between nuclear Power and nuclear Weapons. Finally, there has been no official U.S. criticism of Iran elections and a deliberate attempt to indicate we should "not meddle." The Guardian? - g

POPSU.S. frees 5 Iranian diplomats held since 2007 Two and a half years in prison without any charges being filed, without any evidence being presented, without any rights to a lawyer, no chance to defend yourself from accusations, all contact with family, friends, your own government or agencies like the Red Cross cut off No clearing of their name. This is classic injustice, another example of USA hypocrisy and cruelty, phony face and double-standards. Why all the concern on the media about Iranian election results and almost zero coverage about USA violations of its own principles? The answer, of course, is strong forces of neocon conservatives, warmongering Republicans and Zionist extremist are once against pushing for war against Iran.

POPSU.S. House narrowly approves War Funding A rather amazing close vote! -- The vote by the House to approve the use of force against Iraq, in 2002, was more than two to one. It seems the bill also contained giving billions in credit to the IMF...do other countries mix up their legislation like this? Wouldn't it make more sense...wouldn't it actually be SANITY to vote on the content of one issue at a time? Especially when it's an issue of war? Of course, the IMF is probably some economic war profiteering and economic exploitation agency....so maybe they go together quite well. I mean...it's not like the IMF sponsored programs to feed the hungry or heal the sick, no?

POPSSaberi was a U.S. spy.
Revealed today, according to her own defense lawyers, is what she had done -- copy top secret government document. You may have heard news reports about this having to do with her buying a bottle of wine -- all lies. You may have hear news reports about her overstaying her visa -- all lies. You may get the impression that our country (the USA) doesn't have spies -- a rather naive idea. But it's good she got home. She deserves a medal. But we (the USA) should stop acting like pious hypocrites, which we do all the time, as if we, d'uh, don't have spies, d'uh, are not invading foreign countries, d'uh, we don't torture, d'uh, d'uh,d'uh. -- We got a lot of cleaning up to do and a lot of 'getting real,' in our own heads and stop warmongering like some dumb Disneyland Baby Huey. Daniel Pearl, btw, was probably also a spy. Being a 'journalist,' is a good spy cover story. I guess he should get a medal too. Even is not official spies, they were foreigners poking around secret stuf

POPSBlackOps: False Intel Iraq - Now False Intel Iran
Some have defined political balckops as 1.) Kill the truth and 2) Spread lies and fear. In that case BlackOps were at work last week. That story is herehttp://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/02/20/iran.nuclear/ The story with the truth, though, was never mentioned: a significant annual report by the IAEA that Iran was cooperating okay with nuke weapons inspections and another story from Iran pledging to continue to cooperate. IAEA are the people who got it right about Saddam Hussein having no WMD and got it right about the claims of Saddam trying to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger were based on forged documents. But the news reported last week came instead from ISIS, a 2-faced blackop group that always kept saying Saddam had WMD. Are we to get fooled again, by the very same people, in the very same way!? This clip/report challenges what ISIS said last week. It also exposes who was behind the Niger yellowcake lies. We need truth & justice. Spread the word

POPSDeal Signed: War with Iraq Over. The End is Near OMG. - Now that this is approved here is the one sentence that was DENIED: "However, Maliki's government, or its successor, can negotiate a later, separate, agreement with the Americans allowing them to stay longer if it believes Iraq is not yet stable enough." All up to now news reports I've read said the deal could absolutely NOT be extended but could only be shortened, forcing an earlier withdrawal. But now, instead, the USA twisted the arm and bribed this first puppet government and when it needs to several years from now it will do it again. Yea! Our Oil companies can stay! Our most expensive embassy in the world can stay! Victory at last! Even if the deal didn't have this critical possibility of extension I figured - there were bound to be loopholes anyhow. Our generals would argue over what the phrase 'complete withdrawal,'

POPSIraq Condemns U.S. - Demands Quick Withdrawal
It's clearer now that Bush's false war for false reasons is going down the toilet. It seems one of the oldest civilizations in the world is not falling for USA junk food treaties. Apparently the people who started the skill of writing can read. There's much more to this story/clip than just the headline: all big time, bad news for Bush. For what the Bush Administration and military wanted: The rest of the article is even worse, . #1. Iraq wants U.S. troops out by the end of 2009. It how now firmly rejected a clause the U.S. Military wanted, an option to extend the occupation to 2011. #2 It wants sole discretion to put U.S. soldiers on trial for any crimes they might commit -- something the U.S. will never agree to. #3. It wants to inspect U.S. military shipments into Iraq, another things the U.S. military or Navy would never agree to. These terms, right here in this clip, spell out F-A-I-L-U-R-E for Bush's War in Iraq and it's ongoing scams for Oil. It'

POPSMcCain-Palin Warmongers Don't Know Jack
In this latest blast Obama is accused of being in some conspiracy with the Iraqi government. Here is the big Conspiracy: He told the Iraqi government what the USA law was, concerning future plans for Iraq. The USA law is that Congress has to vote on any agreement. Shocking! This is like the law that says Congress is suppose to vote on wars; (it sure would be nice if they got back to that basic Constitutional mandate). But here's the Real Shocker: the Bush Administration wants to sign a "private contract," with Iraq, allowing the war to go on and for permanent occupation. They call this private contract a "Status of Forces Agreement." By doing it this way they claim they can avoid the hassle of going to Congress. These *()*$#8 do this all the time. We don't go to war anymore. The president makes private 'Status of Forces Agreements." We got them all over the world. They try to keep them secret. (Backstory: US needs one by Dec./ UN mandate justifying war

POPSU.S.Fed Rally Fizzles: Emperor Has No Clothes
At the same time the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve was testifying before Congress (Oct. 7, 2008) about how his $700-billion dollar give away to Wall Street would help to heal the economy.... ...at this very same moment the Wall St. Stock Market was dropping close to 300 points. It dropped about 300- points the day before (after being down almost 800) It's like this: Let's attack Iraq because they have Weapons of Mass Destruction. Let's attack Iraq because they are linked to 9/11. Let's attack Iraq because they were prime suspects in anthrax attacks a week after 9/11. With these alleged facts motivating the nation it was easy to stampede the Congress and nation into war -- fact ALL proven untrue. Now the same thing being done with the economy, we're treated to the Head Banker (and now/then the President one hour later) saying how much this will help while we can see with our eyes the Stock Market falling fast. POPSCandidate promises of "greater," Iraq withdrawal
First actual real vote for USA president in two days, in the state of Iowa. Then in about a month most of the other major states will have decided. It hard to know who to vote for, esp. with the high level of deceit, deception and false promises in politics. When Hilary Clinton says and claims she wants to get out of Iraq it appears to mean to reduce troops by 50%. When Obama says he wants to get out of Iraq it sounds like troop reductions to 25%; and no more free lunches for war profiteers. Now, bold Johnny Edwards promises an 88% troop withdrawal, with more name-changers as to what we call these troops (i.e., call them 'trainers,' rather than combat troops; call them counterterrorist forces rather than an occupying arms, etc.) Is this like 'withdrawing,' from sex but still having sex? Or stopping smoking, but just smoke less? Eating on a diet, etc.? guess this is progress in Alice in Wonderland. But we still have to vote for the most reasonable lies we like, I sup

POPSBush knew truth, claims former WH Press Secretary
This is a core of the so-called: "CIA Leak Case." It might be better named: "The Attempted Cover-Up of using Deliberate Fabrication about Iraq having Weapons of Mass Destruction." Like a tangled ball of yarn , the government propaganda on this core deceit leading to Iraq war is so knotted, tied up, and deliberately confused that it's hard to straighten out the skein...but it goes something like this: #1. White House, neo-cons, & warmongers make up deliberate lies claiming Iraq had and/or was seeking to build WMD's, re: 'Buying yellowcake from Niger." #2. Former ambassador sent by CIA to fact check this. He reports back it's not true. USA VP Dick Cheney suppresses this report and claims of WMD's by Iraq are put in prime-time President's 'State of the Union Speech." #3. This former ambassador says this ain't right. He is slandered. His wife exposed as CIA agent by VP Cheney and henchmen. (weird, no!?) This news, today, CONFIRMS: Bush also conspired in this coverup.

POPSUS Army desertion rates up 80% since 2003 The real facts of this illegitimate war in Iraq -- like these latest desertion stastics -- are cruel and horrible. I guess it will all spill out eventually. It has also been unfair to these soldiers. The National Guard has never been the main forces used for a foreign war before. They had always previously been a 'national' guard, a 'home' guard and now they have been thrown on the front lines of a war, again and again.

POPSStop half-the-war bill passes House.
"There's no way to get there from here," someone once said. One big step forward, at least, is that it has a name and number so when trying to talk about it you don't have to say things like: "The 2nd Amendment to Fall Supplemental Funding" This bill is called the Orderly and Responsible Iraq Redeployment Appropriations Act, HR 2957. One good idea is a clear policy against torture. There also appears to be a clear requirement that the government must start a withdrawal of troops. This article clipped here, though, distorts several provisions of the actual bill. If interested in comparing this ONE sample of distortion and propaganda spin, the actual text of the legislation can be found here, at: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.02956 which does NOT ask for a Full Withdrawal of troops by Dec. 2008 but a Limited Withdrawal by April 2008. Gosh...Bush could bring one soldier home by and meet the requirement. At least we're getting another Holocaust Muse

POPSAnti-war what?
These quote -- except the first one -- are from Democrats and concern a $50 billion bill that adds funds , today, for the war. It almost sounds like the Democrats are going to do something real. While the Republicans continue to play one of their final gambits: i.e. - We should support the war because we have to support the troops. This 50-billion dollar bill has nothing more than a pretense of war opposition....with a provision to "begin the redeployment of our brave men and women,"..requiring that President Bush initiate troop withdrawals within 30 days of its passage with the goal of bringing home most soldiers and Marines by Dec. 15, 2008 -- but this goal of "most" troops withdrawn is NOT a requirement, not real at all and -- even worse -- puts out the idea that "enough soldiers and Marines are to be left behind to fight terrorists, train Iraqi security forces and protect U.S. assets." Ah...."protect US assests,' Such as the 14 or permanent military bases that are appare

US employees protest The assassins of democracy are now trying to force foreign service employees to work in Iraq, but running into this unheard of resistance from government employees. POPSTurkey to invade Iraq
A couple of things come to mind: 1. Since we can't stop the war we might as well enjoy it's interesting twists and turns. 2. The USA politicians and TV Talking Heads act as if they are God and omnipotently declaring: 'Let's take out Iran." -- "Not an invasion but surgical strikes," etc. -- but there are other forces and factors involved 3. Much like Vietnam the war may finally end by the North Vietnamese army overrunning Saigon in 1975 and that was when finally the last USA troops were out. It seems when an enemy has invaded one of your outposts or cities it doesn't take as long to get out as current politicians suggest. So now we are bombarded with all the claims and complaints of Iran 'killing Americans,' (or having nuclear weapons)...soon we can have a Turkish invasion. The terrorist and anti-American forces in Saudia Arabia will keep pouring in funds...Israel can come in and blow something up. The fun has just begun. Meanwhile, the USA can control it's own borders

POPS2Grunts, critics of the war, die in Iraq The article they helped 'co-write,' in the NYT is pretty serious and somber. The stunning difference is between what they describe "on the ground," and what we hear and see and are told about the our sold-out politicians and TV Talking Heads, government propaganda, etc. Perhaps bring attention to this, now once again with his death, Sgt. Mora leaves behind a worth memory. He sounded human, not like some general betray us or madman president or the daily warmongers.

POPSIra Dang...I guess this is what is called "peace," although I was personally hoping that because the war was mobilized on deliberately fabricated lies that perhaps we should just end it completely. Apparently less than 25% of the USA people feel this way. More apparently, it seems the 'fix is on,' and the desires of Oil companies and Israel rule. http://www.americancitizenstogether.org I still think we should impeach the bastards, starting with Cheney. Then we have to work hard in the primaries to elect better leaders, trying to get real people who believe in real peace and not just the ongoing occupation that was the Big Plan to begin with (and the subsequent war with Iran). Plus, we can start recall drives against all the politicians we can, starting with the worst of them. This will help kick out some of the warmongers or pacified status quo puppets. This is real action. I'm not pacified yet. I'm not into being "reasonable." I'm not into being sucked down this sick war

POPSTen More Years for the Surge to Work? This whole article is worth it, along with the 200 comments it's gotten in half a day. I believe a serious, legal, democratic challenge to the Status Quo needs to be made by the direct action of people: Start Recall Drives against Republican governors, since Republicans are the most warmongering party, since the White House contines to talk and act on expanding the wars in the Middle East and Iran, and since our politicians refuse to start impeachments (Cheney first!). I wish my state was one of the seven where this is possible, but it is not. For more details, check out: http;//www.americancitizenstogether.org

POPSThings in Iraq are NOT getting better!
A few days ago the first bomb went off right inside the Iraq Parliment building in the most secure Green Zone of USA occupation in Baghdad. This new today. More news tomorrow. And we're suppose to give this lying stinking president and his lying stinking corrupt officials any trust? any credit? for anything? Impeach both Bush and Cheney (Cheney first). Recall all Republican governors in those seven (7) states where possible. Work and vote for a Democrat for President in 2008. Vote against every Republican Senate or House candidate on the ballot. They we can look forward to a better country, without these warmongering draft-dodgers wrapping their corruption in our American flag and their phony claims of God on Their Side. We all should be as outraged as possible. We deserve tobe as outraged as possible. We need to do these things mentioned here, now, for ourselves and for our children. POPSUS Senate votes 50-48 to keep Iraq War Withdrawal deadline
I heard a special limo caravan was sent out for Dick Cheney to rush him over to Congress in case a tie-breaking vote was needed; like if just ONE Senator had shifted and the vote was 49-49; then Cheney could have made it 50-49. So, it was that close: It was One Vote close. (symptomatic of how Bush keeps acting in ways to DIVIDE the nation; but also symptomatic of the people's will in our recent last elections, and the new Democratic power in Congress to challenge Bush and expose his lies and corruption.) I heard that Cheney's motocade speed to the White House but it was a wasted trip-- there was no tie -- he (nor Bush) could do nothing about it. I would have loved to be in that motorcade as it somberly drove back to Cheney's White House office. Yea...the war is over. Realistically, it may take another year. Realistically all troop may never actually leave; just give up prime combat roles. Realistically plans for permanent bases are still there...but..4sure, the tide has ch

POPSCongress Opposes Bush Big Time This is a good first step.
