Race matters less than preferences (or Christ)

by chetler  11-19-2009
There's very little biological difference; it's all social constructs. God is in the business of challenging those presuppositions and breaking us down. Only then can we come together.

Reformed argument for homosexual practice
chetler
by chetler  11-14-2009
 1. It's deceptive to pit Scripture against Christ. Jesus is the living Word and the two must be in agreement. Its okay to try to argue for a different interpretation, but don't say you can ignore a clear teaching Scripture because the Spirit says so. 2. The Reformed church is built on the confessions. It sounds like she needs to leave this tradition if she no longer values the confessions. Again, by creating a dichotomy, she attempts reject a part of the whole.

I find this is true with favorite foods: having them occasionally is much more satisfying and I enjoy the flavors. When anything becomes routine, it moves into the background. This is especially true in church life.

Admitting one's mistake requires humility and sacrifice, as well as trust that the offended party won't use their advantage (in court or otherwise). To quote Larry the cucumber "it sure feels good to be forgiven!"
