POPSDictionopolis I grew up with Webster's Dictionary, but have since graduated to Oxfords. (sniff) I can't clip images (always blocked when I'm in Egypt), so go to clip source to figure out the difference between college and high school dictionaries. There's also a link to a youtube video on how the American Heritage Dictionary avoids problematic guide words

POPSU.S Christian Right Pushes Death Penalty For LGBTs
If they can't legally kill non-heteros and their friends in the U.S., they'll try to see that it happens somewhere else. More from yhe article, below: " The speakers were Don Schmierer, a board member at Exodus International; Scott Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries and author of a book that equates Nazism and homosexuality; and Caleb Lee Brundidge who works at the International Healing Foundation which ostensibly "cures" homosexuals. "They told us all things are going wrong because the family is being neglected. Not having more children is one of the things that they said are going wrong. Homosexuality is a way of stopping us from having more children," said Senyonjo. "The law forces Ugandans to spy on each other because you can be punished if you don’t report suspected homosexuals to the police," said Senyonjo. The problem of patriarchy is even more urgent than addressing fundamentalism in the church, Oberholzer told IPS. "LGBTI rights and women’s rights go hand in

POPSWhich Major Country goes Bankrupt First? the article is worth skimming over and is a real good indication that Asia isn't as snowed as our citizens. The US would look worse if GDP were more accurately reported, by monthly tax collections/revenues it is way overstated. Want to start a pool?

POPS How to Bypass “This video is not available in your country” Both workarounds above are brilliant and work like a charm. Also, if someone posts a youtube on CM, for example, and I get the dreaded *not available in your country" message, you can't even see what the youtube was supposed to be! So, to get around that, I just do a Google search for the youtube URL itself and the top search result will tell you the title and exactly what video they want to keep from you. Then I just paste that title into youtube's search box and voila! .:D I hope this will help others who also HATE that damned *not available* message. Enjoy. .:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pXWTG7XzH4

POPSIndian Removal Act: "Trail of Tears." Hollywood has left the impression that the great Indian wars came in the Old West during the late 1800's, a period that many think of simplistically as the "cowboy and Indian" days. But in fact that was a "mopping up" effort. By that time the Indians were nearly finished, their subjugation complete, their numbers decimated. The killing, enslavement, and land theft had begun with the arrival of the Europeans. But it may have reached its nadir when it became federal policy under President (Andrew) Jackson.

POPSUnbelievable projection mapping video! It's very long and slightly redundant in spots but well worth watching the whole thing. Few things amaze me quite like projection mapping and this is an amazing example it.

POPSSet Your Alarm For The Orionids!
"Last but not least, the display will be framed by some of the prettiest stars and planets in the night sky. In addition to Orionids, you'll see brilliant Venus, red Mars, the dog star Sirius, and bright winter constellations such as Orion, Gemini and Taurus. Even if the shower is a dud, the rest of the sky is dynamite." "According to Japanese meteor scientists Mikiya Sato and Jun-ichi Watanabe, 2006 marked Earth's first encounter with some very old debris. "We have found that the was caused by dust trails ejected from 1P/Halley in 1266 BC, 1198 BC, and 911 BC," they wrote in the August 2007 edition of Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan. In their paper "Origin of the 2006 Orionid Outburst," Sato and Watanabe used a computer to model the structure and evolution of Halley's many debris streams stretching back in time as far as 3400 years. The debris that hit Earth in 2006 was among the oldest they studied and was rich in large fireball-producin

POPS"Missing" Nukes? Two years ago, six nuclear armed weapons were attached to the wings of a B-52 bomber and flown from North Dakota to Barksdale, the USAF staging base for Middle East operations. This took place in contradiction to all laws and all military procedures. Military experts could not recall a single incident of this kind ever taking place. Two years later, the event has still not been credibly unexplained. And of the six that were put on the plane in North Dakota, only five have been fully accounted for. Some folks have short memories. BrasscheckTV doesn't.
