POPS"People have found other ways to be cooperative – without God." The study also points out that in today's world religion has no monopoly on kind and generous behaviour. In many findings, non-believers acted as prosocially as believers. The last several hundred years has seen the rise of non-religious institutional mechanisms that include effective policing, courts and social surveillance. Very interesting read, on the social function of god. maybe we can say that JC, Moses and the like are history social workers :)

POPSEinstein: Jews not Choosen People He declined an invitation to become Israel's second president, rejected the idea that the Jews are God's chosen people. "For me the Jewish religion like all others is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions," he said. "And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people." And he added: "As far as my experience goes, they are no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything 'chosen' about them."

POPSEinstein's letter makes view of religion relatively clear In the letter, he states: "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

POPSHonor Killing - Religion at Work We always hear of cultural preservation. Maybe we ought to hear more of cultural castigation. Aspects of some cultures are so primitive, so mired in backwards, ignorant superstition that they deserve to be derided and scorned by all peoples of more enlightened cultures. This story sickens me on many levels.

POPSFreedom for All Because of the nationwide special privilege that Christians have come to expect this type of discrimination is common place.

POPSSanity in Thought Reading this one could assume that it's written by one of those left-wing liberal living in sin-filled NY or LA. Actually it's a comment by someone in Malaysia. Naturally, I agree with what this writer says.

POPSReligeon Causes War September 11th attacks, the suicide bombings that occur frequently across the world. I would like you, the reader, to realize, I am a proponent of the beliefs in God, only an opponent of the religious customs and teachings that separate religions who read and believe in the same god and holy book. In short, haw the hell can a Baptist and catholic believe in Jesus, read the bible, be so different? Why are both the Jews and Muslims, who both read very similar holy books and believe in the same god, mortal enemies? The answer? religious teachings not directly obtained from holy books but instead interpreted from various excerpts forged and fashioned into bogus meanings. I believe that religion causes war.
