About me
A Jackeen just returned from the US after 20 years and now enjoying the beautiful Kerry countryside. Enjoying everything about being home and sharing it with my daughter.
Why I use Clipmarks
It's a great way to collect fun and useful stuff and to share with others. It's always interesting (and addicting) to see what others are clipping.

Cooking With My Punk Ass Little Sister...
carrerinyes
by carrerinyes  7-16-2008    13
Then she left home and became a woman while I married a cattle rancher and said goodbye, essentially forever, to my beloved repertoire of gourmet cuisine. Betsy graduated from college, lived in various big cities, and now resides in Austin, Texas with her tech-nerd husband, Matt, where she spends her days cooking all the food snob dishes I so unselfishly taught her to make so many years ago. And she calls me as she’s eating them and makes me cry real tears. Then I go fry up another pork chop and get over myself. Come along with Betsy and me as we make one of our favorites: Penne a la Betsy, as I like to call it. It’s simple, flavorful, and whomever you make it for will pledge their eternal admiration and support for you. And they’ll kiss your big toe.The Cast of Characters: Shrimp, Penne (or other short pasta), butter, olive oil, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, heavy cream, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper. Brace yourselves, people. Your life’s about the change for the better. And y

Gipsy Kings

But they began playing rumba flamenca because "we liked to watch pretty girls dance," said Nicolas. Latin American beats had been joined with flamenco by gitanos since at least the 1950s, mixing complex strumming with rhythmic, percussive tapping on their guitars' tops. The new Reyes generation — soon to meet and join up with three guitar-playing brothers from the Baliardo family — began creating more pop-oriented songs. They played at roma parties and at street corners until they got their chance to record under the group's new name, Gipsy Kings. Sharp-eyed individuals might have noted that all the left-handed members of the group play guitars strung upside-down; this is usually as a result of the individuals' not having their own guitars when growing-up. Borrowing and playing a right-hander's the wrong way up was the only way to learn.

No one was able to reach us all day.And we were OK. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just wal

Alternative Science has been known under many titles for thousands of years. It has always been an alternative science because it requires the investigator to go outside of their normal perceptions. Shamans and healers of all ages share a common heritage with the Alternative Scientist. A world of patterns, geometry and subtle radiation are operative to both. Alternative science struggles with language to describe the experience of subtle energy. Teaching how to manipulate this subtle energy has always been a challenge. Borderland Sciences preserves this collection so you can aquire your own education.MORE! 20th Century Collection These research texts provide a look into the early resarch of subtle energy by qualified scienctist before teh materialistic paradigm squeezed vitalism out of the picture.many of these texts hold secrets and models of the physical universe that were classified when they were completely worked out by academic engineers.  In 1986, more than 250 sailing ships and the United States' biggest fireworks display honored the Statue of Liberty in its 100th birthday year. In 1994, French forces in Rwanda established a security zone for refugees. In 1995, the British Parliament reconfirmed John Majors as prime minister. In 1997, NASA's Pathfinder landed on Mars to become the first U.S. spacecraft to land on the planet in more than two decades. Also in 1997, Mexico's top drug lord died in a Mexico City hospital following plastic surgery to change his appearance.

Tesla Purple Plates for Healing
carrerinyes
by carrerinyes  7-2-2008    3
The plates are made of aluminum, which is first anodized (electrolytic oxidation) and then colored. The spin of the atoms and electrons of the aluminum is thus changed in such a way, that the plates are said to vibrate in resonance with the fundamental energy (Chi, Prana, Orgon) of the universe. The plates were developped by Ralph Bergstresser after a patent and from the knowledge / information and ideas of Nikola Tesla, with whom he worked for a certain time. With anodizing, the field of the plates is changed and interacts with tachyons. The surface of the plates has a crystal-structure. Their chemical composition is the same as that of rubies and sapphires, which also consist of aluminum oxide. We know that rubies give energy and thus were called "life-stones" in the Middle-Ages. The plates offered here have been further developed.Nikola Tesla himself used similar plates in several patents and called them antennas for free energy. They are said to transfer information from the

Rise of the Inflatable Car
carrerinyes
by carrerinyes  6-28-2008    5
Just when you thought the boasting from XP couldn’t get any more far-fetched, the cars also have the added advantage of being able to be driven off a cliff without serious injury and the capability to float in the event of flood or tsunami. But surely they’ll just burst? Well, actually no they won’t. Not only are they constructed out of the same polymer materials used to cushion NASA's rovers when they landed on Mars; multiple chambers will protect the vehicle from just popping like a balloon. Ludicrous as they might sound, these cars may well be the future of driving as we know it. At around $10,000, these vehicles should be in production by 2010 so don’t be surprised if a miniature bouncy castle on wheels overtakes you on the motorway in a few years time.

What's In A Name...?
carrerinyes
by carrerinyes  6-22-2008    3
The study then compared the names and their popularity ratings to the first names of male youth in the juvenile justice system from 1997 to 2005. Using regression models, Lee and co-author David Kalist found that regardless of race, the more unique, rare and unpopular the name is, the more likely it popped up in youth crime files 10 to 18 years later. While half of the names in the state population have a PNI of 20 or more, half the names of the juvenile population have a PNI greater than 11. Lee calculated that for every 10 per cent increase in the popularity of a name, there is an associated 3.7 per cent decrease in the number of troublemaking kids with that name. However, research also showed that the PNI of a juvenile's name is also associated with other factors, such as socio-economic conditions and family structure. ``The PNI is positively associated when the kid is living with both parents and negatively associated when living only with the mother,'' said Lee, add

Supreme Court Rules Detainees Have Constitutional Rights
carrerinyes
by carrerinyes  6-13-2008    2
Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote for the court majority: "The detainees in these cases are entitled to a prompt habeas corpus hearing. . . . Within the Constitution's separation-of-powers structure, few exercises of judicial power are as legitimate or as necessary as the responsibility to hear challenges to the authority of the executive to imprison a person." The court was narrowly split, 5 to 4. The dissenters accused the majority of meddling in a wartime matter better left to the president and the military. The decision "will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed," Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in a dissent. President Bush said he would abide by the decision but added: "It was a deeply divided court, and I strongly agree with those who dissented." About 270 men are still held at Guantanamo. Fewer than 20 are now facing trial before a military commission, and about 60 are in the pipeline.
