POPSEvolution of the Olympic Torch The 2008 Beijing Olympic torch can reportedly withstand winds of up to 40 miles an hour (65 kilometers an hour), partly due to the flat top of its Chinese-scroll-based design, according to engineer Richard Kelso. The exterior of the torch is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and is decorated with 56 swirling clouds, one for each of China's ethnic groups.<<

POPSUsual Whitewash of IDF coloured this time. When Israel first investigated the incident in March 2005 it concluded there was insufficient evidence to press criminal charges. The commander of the unit faced disciplinary proceedings but was exonerated. The usual whitewash didn't work this time.

POPSMusic and art mixed in the stone age The sound of a cave's echo when singing would have sounded good, and percussion instruments are good to help a few singers sing to the same beat. Art is another form of communication, They would have sang about things that they identified with, but theres something about people that makes them want to keep a record, to show others what has been going on. Stories can change, but art can be permanent. A way to show the children and descendants how they lived, and the cave paintings could showing how, and what to hunt.

POPSPolice-State Style Olympics You know, it's a surreal sign of our times that the procession of the Olympic torch becomes a quasi-military exercise, where the flame passes through hordes of protesters only by police force of arms, with tear gas and hand-to-hand combat.

POPSJust a story from a soldier. Just a story from a soldier who fought in hell. So that maybe we could all live a better life. It`s been told by many. And over thousands of years. I guess as long as there is man. The stories will always be there.

POPSLA Town Chops down "Racist" Tree Wow these people are living out ancient history - and carrying the torch for hatred which should be long gone and buried. Just keep fueling the fires of race hate - read the rest of how Sweetness and Light highlighted the article...I read the headline that was assigned and spit all over my keyboard.

POPSSupernanny kids torch home Except for the fact that the house was afire, this could be funny. It appears that the parents had there own problems which may have contributed to the children's. The 3-year old was a quick learner of some bad behavior. I don't envy people who have children and then lack the resolve and self-discipline to train and teach them. My advice has always been, set the boundaries and rules when they're toddlers, cause you can't start training them as teens. If they're out of control at 3, imagine what they will be at 13!

POPSWitch Arrested After Yelling Chants Worship of some newly-purchased moonshine, not the new moon, was her inspiration for this stunt. Dancing around a bonfire in her underwear, in a residential area, burning rubber and plastic? It's a wonder she didn't get lighter fluid on herself and become a torch. This is one reason that I choose to BE public, soas to give a more sane face in balance to this sort of moonbat.
