POPSSurging to Success It's too bad, isn't it, that the media is so determined to see us lose in Iraq that they wouldn't say much about this.? Of course, even if they mentioned it, it would be sandwiched in between reports of another car bomb, even if nobody was injured...it's doom and gloom on the war because they can't stand a Republican president and they're trying to repeat the same scenario as when Nixon was in office. Because it worked, ONCE. Don't they know that some people are still around that remember all that? That's why the protesters have people in the streets opposing them now.

POPSMichael Yon: Don’t Ask Me What I Think about the Petraeus Report Michael Yon discusses in his usual measured reasonable style General Petreaus' report, which isn't published yet. You'd think it was, considering how wildly the moonbats have already reacted to his testifying before Congress. Yon says it should be carefully considered and digested, not pounced upon in a rush to get a story out. Great article at NRO.

POPSStop our networks from helping Al Qaeda Not surprising, considering what we know about Bilal Hussein (and others). Hussein was the guy who won a Pulitzer for his photos in Iraq but who was also detained by the military for his connection with terrorists.

POPSHow the left betrayed my country: Iraq It's interesting when you listen to what the Iraqis have to say about all this. But of course, people like Cindy Sheehan won't answer the question "what will happen to the Iraqis when we leave?"

POPSCindy confronted by Bush supporter It's something that happened in Cambodia after we left Vietnam, yet the anti-war Activists who claimed they cared so much about those people never shed a tear for millions killed at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. There is every reason to believe history will repeat itself in Iraq.

POPSWe are not debating a change of course, we are debating to accept defeat I thought this was an eloquent quote. Original article by Cliff May here at NRO. If Democrats were only willing to be as resilient against al Qaeda as they are in resisting President Bush's election victories the war would be in a lot better shape. But God forbid they'd want a Republican president to ever look good, if even for a moment.

POPSCelebrating the Anbar Awakening Iraqis and troops dancing in the streets. But the MSM, of course, wouldn't want to cover anything showing success or the Iraqis working with us, or celebrating together.the story out west in Al Anbar is truly a positive one. There are signs that the Anbar's Awakening is spreading to other parts of Iraq. The last sentence is from Licari of Arabia http://mesopotamianmarine.blogspot.com/2007/06/anbar-awakening.html He points out that the MSM is like Iraqis, they will follow the strongest horse. Interesting perspective, although he acknowledges how leftist they are.

POPSThe New York Times: demanding American withdrawal from Iraq You just can't make this stuff up. But the New York Times is one of the leading propaganda outlets for looney leftyworld, artfully placing the DNC's talking points in a glowing and positive light. Who cares if there are no facts to back it up? Leftists don't bother with annoying facts, they deal with victimhood and FEELINGS.

POPSCongress is not authorized under the constitution to order the withdrawal from Iraq If we were following the Constitution, the only person with the power to give orders to the military is the President. It's in Section 2; that's why they call him the "Commander In Chief" of the armed forces. So while they're screaming about things being 'unconstitutional', they're not really paying attention to what's in it. Interesting, but typical.

POPSThe Surrender Lobby It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know this. Even I know what will happen if the current surrender monkeys get their way. Then every single death of every single innocent Iraqi, who put their trust in the US and it's word, will be on the head of this 'surrender lobby'.

POPS2 maps: One of progress, the other Al Qaeda's Hurray for us, 7 of 18 Provinces have been turned over to the Iraqis. Al Qaeda admits in their own propaganda that the areas in Iraqi control are not under their control. Al Qaeda also identifies the media as their weapon against us. A military spokesman said: "It represents AQI's view of the areas it claimed to control in Iraq in early March. It also asserts AQI dominated much of Anbar and northern Iraq, which by any measure was clearly not the truth." Oh, what a surprise, their map is a lie.

POPSIraq: The Adviser Model "SWJ Editors Note - the following article by Bing West and Owen West was originally posted at Slate.com. It is reprinted here with the author's permission to accelerate the discussion leading to honest assessments, decisions and action. As an example, will an adviser model -- fewer Americans but out beyond the wire -- change casualties significantly? Will it matter? There's also a Small Wars Council thread on the original Slate article."
