POPSA Pen Everyone Needs in the Digital Age Was just suggested to me last week that turning on a recording feature in my laptop would assist with product orders when onsite with my customers. I think this pen sounds like a good idea too.

POPSAbuses in Social Networking sites
I really think it's going to be difficult to monitor what happens and where. I am not sure why the world expects social networking sites to babysit the people that register for these sites. As a parent, I think ultimately, we are the only ones that should be monitoring, watching and teaching our children. Govt and web owners have been trying to come up with solutions for a number of years now and there hasn't actually been anything that they can write in stone that will work or has worked to the fullest extent yet, that will make everyone happy. What about assigning some type of ID to users under the age of 18. For example, in order for someone under the age of 18 to use the internet, they would require something like an "internet pass" that is obtained by some agency (similar to a DMV (dept of motor vehicles)), and would have to be approved by parents. The internet pass would enable the "under 18" crowd access to the web but only one level of it. continued...

POPSNational Park Service Web Cameras Point Reyes, Calif is a beautiful place. I was elated to find a web camera for the location. It's generally a quiet beach front with tidepools; horseback riding; and general tranquility. Check the cams out if you have a few mins to relieve some stress.

POPSWhat is Vox? I joined this community last week and have been impressed with their "community" effort. I'm not certain if blogs inside the Vox community are searchable from the outside but it doesn't seem to matter. While "exploring" the community blogs, I've noted a number of people commenting on the maturity level as "better than MySpace." Some people have commented that it's a pleasure to be in a relaxed environment with a "friendly and mature neighborhood" format where no one knows you from some other place. LOL Another comment I read was that it's like "Flickr with a blog." The latter comment was something I could relate to as well. It has some cool features; many themes; and like CM's, they are in alpha-beta mode, utilizing the suggestions of their customer base to improve upon the product and features. You need an invitation to join. You can put your name on their mailing list for an invite and they'll contact you soon. It took me a month to receive my invite. Later neighbor!

POPSBack up software: Comparator I downloaded the 30 day trial and I'm impressed. I think it's a keeper and I'll probably pay for a license when the 30 days is up. It works like Microsoft Briefcase but does quite a bit more. Handy program.
