POPSSenator Byrd Rips McCain on Earmarks It takes ear-marks to get back our gas taxes for interstate and highways work. For some reason the federal government taxes at the pump alot but then alots and apportions money to be spent by ear-marks. This is a good example of a necessary and justifiable ear-mark. Note the republican Congresswoman Capito supported this very big ear-mark too, and West Virginians (and alot of truck lines who move freight through the state, and help pay for the interstates also through tolls) are not complaining. McCain lost all credibility on ear-marks when he supported the Bailout Bill absolutely loaded with them. Perhaps McCain's biggest hypocrisy on Earmarks is the enormous earmark spending (he supports) for Israel , instead of for Americans.

Its key principle is "entangling alliances" which George Washington warned against, starting with NATO as its foundation. POPSWasilla, Alaska Resident Vetts Sarah Palin Now that you know the writer has first-hand knowledge read the entire article if you really want to read a more thorough review of Palin which paints a different picture than those on either side trying to create their own portrait for their own ends. Why not a more objective look? The writer even openly states her motives for writing. Republicans in particular should be interested in her practices as a "fiscal conservative" and democrats will see they have little to fear. "Sarah Barracuda", as she was called early, is more of a populist than anything, who changes her mind when she smells heavy political pressure.

Sarah Palin is McCain's 'Dan Quayle' (an election ploy that worked for GHWB), who would not interfere with his neoconservative agenda, including on social issues. In regards to oil drilling in Alaska: Sen. McCain opposes ANWR drilling. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in June, Gov. Palin said that when she met with Sen. McCain at a governor's conference in Washington, they discussed energy but parted company on the issue of drilling in ANWR, which he has opposed. And in regard to her position on a social issue: she supports abstinence-until-marriage programs, where teens are taught to refrain from sex until marriage and contraception is discussed only to explain its failings. ....."Christian conservatives" should see she did not do a very good job in her own family on that issue (i.e. Bristol's pregnancy and open under-age drinking), instead of giving her blind praise.

POPSFluff vs. Facts: Fact-Checking Sarah Palin What Sarah said during her RNC speech was VERY misleading. Conservatives especially should take note of her fiscal record on government spending before they jump up and down at their own Wonder Woman savior with her own stage-craft. Trust is established on proof, not mere presentation and rhetoric. Even conservative Michael Savage is going after Palin and McCain as mere show horses, while the masses of the seduced and ear-tickled of the conservative naive get swept away by a little known governor who knows how to play to an audience, of men in particular , whose scandals and real "ethics" and "family values" are just now coming to light . Republicans are being tricked the most--and not for the first time--McCain loves it! And about the Alaska plane that she put on Ebay...
