POPSMatt Damon in 'Green Zone', Movie With Message About Iraq War "Bourne Goes to Iraq" or Loyal Army officer finds out truth and the real enemy which changes his mission against the "powers that be". Note in the clipmark from Wiki the producer intends this to be not merely entertainment but relevant commentary: "Film shouldn't be disenfranchised from the national conversation. It is never too soon for cinema to engage with events that shape our lives. Perhaps this is like Clooney and Damon in Syriana in that respect. Allegedly based upon this book here. , which has some real interesting "reviews" worth considering.

POPSCheney Caught in Plame Game? 72 Times "Can't Recall" Liar with selective memory--Remember this was about the vindictive and illegal outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame for Ambassador (and her husband) Joe Wilson's NY Times editorial article contradicting the lies of "yellow cake" uranium from Niger to Saddam Hussein to "prove" WMD and launch a war. Among the most basic questions for Cheney in the Plame probe: How did Libby find out that the wife of Bush administration war critic Joseph Wilson worked at the CIA? Libby's own handwritten notes suggest Libby found out from Cheney. When Libby discovered Cheney's reference to Plame and the CIA in his notes - notes that Libby knew he would soon have to turn over to the FBI - the chief of staff went to the vice president Transcripts plus more from CREW's lawsuit here.

POPSThe Cost of War in Afghanistan -- 779 Troops, $229 Billion Obama's war now. The economic cost of this war that has been paid by Americans as well here , along with the devaluation of the U.S. dollar and higher gas prices (inflation in all consumer goods). See also this article with this obscure fact: ECONOMIC SCENE: Afghanistan will cost US more than Iraq Funding for war in Afghanistan will eclipse Iraq for the first time in next year's budget.

POPSHere We Go Again--Iran Is a Threat (but Not Nuclear Israel), blah, blah The propaganda machine about the "threat" of Iran has kicked into high gear, again, driven (as was the Iraq war) by not just the White House and both coerced parties in Congress (via AIPAC), but US Media, singing in complete unison. Who is really playing the aggressor? Who is threatening to attack whom , ....and based upon what ? The drum beat is identical to that about Iraq and Saddam Hussein, which we know was a lie, and part of the neocon agenda for a "new middle east". The morale of that story is do not trust the government when it comes to starting (or provoking) wars and conflicts, which always begins with sanctions , and gaining the UN Gang's support, rather easily swayed. They seek to overcome any resistance by incessant REPETITION of the same propaganda message as with Iraq.
2
POPSNew Memo: Bush-Blair Conspired to Start Iraq War Without WMD Motive Hard proof that WMD was not Bush's or Blair's real reason to start war with Iraq. Not mentioned behind the Bush-Blair Anglo-American conspiracy to invade Iraq, is that neoconservative and Israeli elements who fomented the plan based upon their convenient "catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor" (from their blueprint written in Sept. 2000, one year before 9/11). Yes, it still matters now, because of those who say that "Bush did not lie, he was mistaken about WMD", which this hard evidence entirely destroys.

POPSReal Aim of Torture: Forced "Confessions" for Propaganda Note the source. A forced confession from torture is usually false, and the purpose of increasing "harsh interrogation tactics" is to produce the confession desired , for propaganda purposes. Not only was this done to "prove" a fictional link between Iraq and Al Qaeda (allegedly behind 9/11), but this is why Khalid Sheik Mohammad was water-boarded 183 times in one month, to get him to "confess" that he was the "mastermind of 9/11". (Wouldn't you "confess" too?)

POPSTruth to Power: MP Galloway Vindicated on Iraq Parliament member George Galloway is now vindicated. For those who missed it this was the most powerful challenge against the phony "war on terrorism" in Iraq ever made, with the some of the best anger Scotsmen have ever uttered. This was a classic show down between him and the Israeli-controlled republicans in US Congress, stupid fools who brought him in under trumped up charges, whom he attacks with vigor. Unfortunately even now, most republicans will not admit it his words true, nor many spineless democrats. But everything he said here was absolutely true. (He is no saint, but he spoke truth to power, as did Sen. Robert C. Byrd prior to the war, though of no avail.) Canada has barred his entry because the Israeli fascists control Canada's foreign policy (as the US and UK too) and have branded him because they know he knows who was behind the war, Israel. (see link for article).

POPS"Another 9/11" Being Used to Drive/Justify Obama Policy Propaganda tactics, like "WMD claims" about Iraq, are being used to drive or justify (already preset) military agenda for a Pakistan war front. This is precisely like the same "fixing the intelligence around the policy" used for Iraq --alarmist, "apocalyptic intelligence", to justify what Obama "must do" as a CFR puppet for continuing a "war on terrorism" for global democracy. 9/11 continues to be the justification for "changing everything" and continue wars for "regime change" and more "preventive wars". Are small groups in Pakistan really a threat to Western Civilization? No one could rationally believe this paranoid propaganda. America was less afraid of the Soviet Union than this, and not one shot was fired to stop the Cold War. This is also why another "bin Laden tape" was released this last week. The American people are being prepared for more wars.

POPS"U.S. Shoots Down Iranian Drone"--Truth or Propaganda? Let's debunk this "news" piece before it is swallowed whole: 1. This spurious article merely states something from "u.s. military sources in Baghdad", yet it was "previously unreported", until now. 2. The article has no weight but allegation, it merely launches into quotes from Globalsecurity.org, a neoconservative propaganda front, with "facts" about Iran's UAVs from way back--i.e. fanning the flames with old data. 3. Globalsecurity.org is not reporting this! 4. The only MSM news reporting this is guess who? Yep, FOX. The rest of the MSM is not biting, yet 5. The article on Danger Room is written by Noah Shachtman, whose name suggests he might be a bit jaded 6. In apparent reaction to skepticism, his "update" says that "no one can confirm" this, so "or deny" means little 7. This likely could not have been kept secret for a whole month if true, due to its nature

POPSFrench Professor Sacked Over 9/11, "American-Israeli Conspiracy" Yet even the FBI says there is "no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11", which is why his Mosted Wanted Poster makes no mention of Sept. 11th . Too many have believed the official story of 9/11, without evidence, much like they did about Iraq having WMD. And we know the neoconservatives, and their "American-Israeli" alliance, were behind that big lie to invade Iraq. Don't miss this article by the Israeli paper Haaretz: Report: Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel Video news report on the controversy here.

POPS$125 Billion Fraud: The Iraq Reconstruction "Stimulus" Plan This is how the US gov't manages a "stimulus" plan, in the case of "rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure", which is now being investigated as the largest fraud in U.S. history. To put this figure in perspective, after 9/11 Bush requested $40 billion from Congress for the "war on terrorism", which was considered huge and extraordinary amount. Now consider how much cash this was, distributed partly in "pallets", without a trace of documentation. Where did this money really go?

POPSCheney Begins Fear-mongering Again, Pushes Terrorism Paranoia
After all, this propaganda has always worked so well. Just who is terrorizing for political ends, and who is trying to "change our way of life"? Irrational or ungrounded fear, paranoia, is the basis for lost freedom and dangerous policies of war and psychopathic aggression--like "preventive wars" which killed over a million in Iraq. Will Americans continue to believe this official "conspiracy theory", that "Islamo fascists want to kill Americans every day", despite no credible evidence outside of repetitious talking points? And while Cheney warns of a "high probability of nuclear or biological attacks", just who ordered the "unauthorized" take off of a B-52 from Minot AFB (see Clip) loaded with nuclear bombs? And where did Iraq gets its "biological" weapons materials (West Nile, anthrax, etc) but from the US? Oh, and just where did that Anthrax letter and material come from--Islamo fascists or from someone with access to Ft. Detrick Maryland?

POPSMoyer's Journal: Is Afghanistan Obama's "Iraq" or "Vietnam"?
His guest Pierre Sprey, a former Pentagon official under McNamera, and developer of military planes like the Warthog, destroys the arguments for war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and particularly of drone strikes in Pakistan, which kill more civilians that alleged, unproven "combatants". (The woman's comments are worthless). Must hear podcast. The "war on terror" based upon 9/11 is also challenged effectively as the entire erroneous premise, which Obama continues just like Bush, for a multitude of errors and war crimes. Sprey on bombing targets with UAV drones: You can't tell with a camera or an infrared sensor or something whether somebody's a Taliban. In the end, you're relying on either, you know, some form of intercepted communications, which doesn't point at a person. It just, you know, points at a radio or a cell phone or something like that. Or, most likely, you're relying on some Afghani of unknown veracity and unknown motivation

POPSObama's Jan. 13th Neocon Dinner with William Kristol, founder of the Project for a New American Century and son of Irving Kristol, the "father of neoconservatism" (who also first coined the term for them) and Charles Krauthammer (PNAC member) and two other conservatives. The self-labeled neoconservatives were the authors of the Iraq War which Obama insists he opposed. Actually, Obama should feel very comfortable supping with the Neocons since they are originally from the Left , not the Right. That's right, just like leaders of US world wars to "make the world safe for democracy", like Presidents Wilson and FDR (both Dems). They are RINOs. "Setting the table", so to speak, for Obama no doubt. Really now, why would Obama dine with them? Actually, the host, George Will is more of a libertarian conservative and supported Ron Paul for President, so it is good that he was there, but in bad company.

POPSState Dept. Panel: Drop Blackwater in Iraq; State Dept colluded w/ Blackwater breaking, the shortest news piece on the web. Now another piece shows the probable reason why, because the State Dept colluded with Blackwater to cover up atrocities (so now they need to cover their exposed flanks): Report: State Dept., Blackwater cooperated to neutralize killings Dec. 16th Warren P. Strobel - McClatchy Newspapers WASHINGTON — State Department officials worked closely with the private security contractor Blackwater USA to play down incidents in which company operatives killed innocent Iraqis, according to Blackwater and State Department documents obtained by a congressional committee.

POPSAfghanistan: Bush/Obama "Surge", Karzai Wants U.S. Out! Karzai joins Iraq in demanding timeline for removal of U.S. occupation while Bush and (changeless) Obama press for a "surge" of troops. Karzai complains that the U.S. is killing too many civilians and not defeating the Taliban ( who had nothing to do with 9/11 ). Barack Obama plans 20,000 troop surge to boost Afghan effort Barack Obama is preparing to send at least 20,000 more US soldiers into Afghanistan in a "surge" similar to the deployment that contributed to security improvements in Iraq. Obama has legitimized the war in Afghanistan when Afghanistan certainly was not an imminent threat any more than Iraq, and therefore is an unjust war as well. It is all about "regime change" preconceived by the neocons prior to 2001.

POPSNoam Chomsky Critiques Obama Hard criticism from the Left about how he got elected, and wooed the people with "Brand Obama" the "change" candidate. POPSObama and Real Change in Iraq, Tell Congress Read the whole article then tell Congress to change Iraq policy now via their system. Note the three (unconfirmed) appointments (including Robert Gates and Hillary Clinton) of Obama which speak louder than words about Iraq and war policy. If you want the War issue to change, you must put the pressure on, for Obama likely will not.

POPSScott McClellan: Bush Outed Plame, Lied About Iraq War The former press secretary in this 11/15/08 Book Fair press conference captured on CSPAN makes very clear, again, that Bush himself confessed to a conspiracy, enacted via Cheney and Scooter Libby, to ILLEGALLY out CIA agent Valerie Plame (for political vengeance) as well as the blatant lies and propaganda campaign to justify the Iraq War. Bush and Cheney, based upon this, should be tried in criminal court for treason, or the appropriate charges for breaching CIA agents identity and for deliberately lying to justify the Iraq War. THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS DOES NOT EXPIRE UPON LEAVING OFFICE FOR THESE HIGH CRIMES, WHICH ARE NOT MISDEMEANORS.

POPSBlackwater Busted, Prince Has "Compliance Challenges" Makes one smile. The arrogant Prince of Blackwater just got nailed with a big fine from the same corrupt Federal government they contracted with. The "war on terrorism" is so profitable. What happened to all the hardware that ended up on the black market in Iraq? (Someone knows). "Compliance challenges", he says. More like rogue operations. This is the same company that shoots whoever is in the area and quickly leaves, whose crimes even U.S. military personnel have reported. Dirty mercenaries are never held accountable for war crimes because they are independent contractors. This is the least the State Dept has on them, just the tip of the proverbial ice berg. Iraq wants to try them there.

POPSIran to U.S.: Back Off, Stay Out of Airspace After all, even the ally Pakistan has said the same now to the U.S. to defend its sovereignty. It is no secret the neocons in the Pentagon want to provoke war (even force Obama's hand). Watch to see if Obama removes the neocons from the Pentagon and all advisory positions. If he does not it would say alot.

POPSU.S. Invades Syria: Kills 1 "Terrorist", 8 Civilians, 3 children
1. invading a foreign country, 2. kill ratio 1:8, as usual, more civilians than alleged "terrorist", 3 of which were innocent children! Is this an acceptable kill ratio to be consider moral and just? Was this: a) "Collateral damage", entirely justified b) gross negligence and murder c) unjust attack and invasion, violating all rules of just warfare and "rules of engagement" (unarmed civilians) d) b and c Consider that this was done with soldiers, not a spy drone, which had to have sited the children in their gun sights for at least a moment, and were firing with gross negligence at anything that moved. Can they tell the difference between children and men? Can they tell the difference between unarmed men (civilians) and combatants? Or is it "just kill them all" because we are afraid, even though we are armed to the teeth? THIS WAS A SLAUGHTER. This was murder and invasion, and done without permission or notice to Syria, which the neocons want war with.

POPSObama's Mixed Message, Powell's Endorsement
Listen to democrats justly criticize Obama's shifty positions on war. He promises Powell a role in his administration, despite that fact that Powell gave the most dishonest presentation to the UN (for the American audience really) of false evidence to justify war against Iraq. Yet Obama promises him a role in his administration? DAVID SIROTA: My fear is this. My concern is that Barack Obama has taken somewhat differing positions on the war. He spoke out pretty forcefully against it when it was politically opportune, when he was running in a Democratic primary for the US Senate. And then, when he got to the Senate, he was basically silent on the war. And then in the lead-up to his presidential campaign, during that Democratic primary, he had supported a series of timetable votes. And now he’s saying, today, in a general election, that Colin Powell, a guy who got us into this war, who lied us into this war, is going to be one of his top advisers.

POPSArmy Will Deploy Homeland Defense Unit Welkommen sie zu Homeland Security. HALT! Starting Oct 1 in case of "civilian unrest", just in time for the elections and financial crisis. This mission will become a "permanent one". The US will now become "occupied", gradually, just like Iraq. Can you say "police state"? According to this article this could be called the invasion of the C-smurfs (see last line). So much for posse comitatus that forbids the military for domestic policing.

POPSScott Ritter Rips Obama and McCain on War Policy Powerful refutation of McCain and Obama's assessment of Iran and the "war on terrorism" in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the way it is being portrayed to the public. Democrats in particular should see that Obama and McCain's policies (now) are very close, and not based upon credible threats, much like Iraq. (Ritter is a republican and former Marine and the former UN weapons inspector in Iraq.) If you listen on REAL video or audio his interview begins at the 42:10 mark. This same podcast also includes excerpts from Ron Paul's counter-convention.

POPSRon Suskind vs. Bush Admin on Iraq-9/11 Fakery
Suskind's book has provided documentation of evidence and inside witnesses within the CIA and British Intelligence sources that a fake letter was ordered "from the White House" pretending to be from Saddam's Intelligence Chief to Saddam (whom the U.S. relocated and paid $5 million to) which was laden with lies and a claim of ties between Mohammad Atta (supposed 9/11 ringleader), Al Qaeda, and Iraq--back-dated prior to 9/11--which provided deliberately false claims to connect Iraq to 9/11. The White House has denied (see previous clipmark) but award-winning journalist Suskind summarizes his sources and defends his allegations on Democracy Now (see first podcast "listen" link). The second podcast, Aug. 14, includes House Judiciary Chair John Conyers who has already started an investigation under way which will lead to some kind of action. Conyer's stated the the Senate Intelligence Committee, headed by Jay Rockefeller, has the power to review classified documents to verify this.

POPSRussia-Georgia: Russia vs. USA on Grand Chessboard A worthwhile read to see the bigger picture, and how Georgia attacked! under cover of the Olympics, then Putin immediately responded (not how it is being presented to you). Yes, Georgia was the aggressor, Russia responded (whereas my clips said they conducted a pre-emptive attack because of evidence Georgia would attack South Ossetia). From the day that the Russian tank brigade raced through the tunnel into South Ossetia, Russia has not made one wrong move. Mr Bush's remarks yesterday notwithstanding, In five days it turned an overreaching blunder by a Western-backed opponent into a devastating exposure of Western impotence, dithering and double standards on respecting national sovereignty (viz Iraq). The attack was short, sharp and deadly - enough to send the Georgians fleeing in humiliating panic, their rout captured by global television.
4
POPSRussia vs. Georgia or US Proxy War with Russia? THE COLD WAR IS BACK ON. Putin is ticked at Bush. Russia conducted it appears, a pre-emptive strike. Let's compare US and Russia media sources to see each side of the story. Russia's government says this looks like Iraq (Bush's war) and Kosovo (Clinton's war, condemned by republicans) all over again! Americans should play the skeptic and consider domestic media as propaganda (as usual). Pravda: "The further the situation unfolds, the more the world will understand that Georgia would never be able to do all this without America. South Ossetian defense officials used to make statements about imminent aggression from Georgia , but the latter denied everything, whereas the US Department of State released no comments on the matter. In essence, they have prepared the force, which destroys everything in South Ossetia, attacks civilians and hospitals. They are responsible for this. The world community will learn about it,” /quote]

POPSCIA Official: Cheney Likely Ordered Forged Letter to Saddam This was intended to link Iraq to 9/11. This vindicates my statement about the White House denial and that it was likely Cheney who considers himself "not a part of the Executive branch", but it was drafted on White House letterhead. We now have DOCUMENTED PROOF of a conspiracy to lie and fabricate evidence for war with Iraq! --all likely headed by Dick Cheney, chief of the neoconservative Fifth Column that hijacked the government by using 9/11 as their pretext for everything. For Cheney to use White House letterhead to order a forged letter from the CIA is also a blatant usurpation of power , making use of power that is not his ("not part of Executive branch"). Did Bush know or did Cheney act alone?

POPSAnthrax Mystery, In-Depth Podcast Must hear podcast. McCain tied the Anthrax attacks to Iraq in 2001 on the David Letterman show, to justify war, as did Bush (knowing there was no evidence to say such--lying). In-depth interviews here on Democracy Now podcast trace the clear evidence that whoever sent the letters engaged in purposeful propaganda to push the "War on terrorism" (Middle East regime change) and Homeland Security (fear-based) agendas. Also details about the suicide suspect Ivins by a person who knew him and the FBI's suspicious handling of the entire case. Alot of facts that the MSM is not covering while they parrot everything from the FBI without any investigation of their own former stories. (Interview in podcast follows headlines, etc...fast forward).

POPSForged Letter to Saddam Used to Justify Iraq War The White House denies THEY controlled this. But. 1. They do not deny there was a forged letter, if you read closely, to link Saddam to 9/11 falsely. 2. Dick Cheney (lead neocon in making the case for war, and member of the Project for New American Century blueprint for regime change in Iraq written in Sept. 2000) even admits he is not part of the Executive Branch . So the White House officially did not control this, but Cheney (who was "visiting the CIA daily", it was reported) and the neocons in the Office of Special Plans did this. Again, 9/11 was centrally used to claim to justify war with Iraq where even per Bush "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11", yet this was the link they established to the public. 9/11 was a Neo-Con job, and this demonstrates further how they used it.
1
POPSWar on Iran: Security or Neocon Plan Continued? Pat Buchanan wrote this after Iraq war started but its relevant now with Iran increasingly in the cross hairs. The war theatres were planned well before 9/11, by the neoconservatives and Israel. "Iraq has WMD and wants to attack us"...and now same script with Iran, and people actually believe it! On Sept. 12, Americans were still in shock when Bill Bennett told CNN that we were in “a struggle between good and evil,” that the Congress must declare war on “militant Islam,” and that “overwhelming force” must be used. Bennett cited Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and China as targets for attack. Not, however, Afghanistan, the sanctuary of Osama’s terrorists. How did Bennett know which nations must be smashed before he had any idea who attacked us? Now if this does not make you suspicious about any official justification for war, nothing will. Pat Buchanan as an adviser in Presidential administrations writes with credibility. Read al

POPSMcCain Blunders Again on Foreign Policy The "Iraq-Pakistan Border"? No expert on foreign policy clearly, or even geography. McCain made a big deal about going to Iraq many times before Obama, but he apparently did not learn very much about its location. Maybe that's how he got his plane shot down in Viet Nam.

POPSObama's Foreign Policy Goes Neocon--Unjust Wars Will Continue
The real Obama policy. Must see video interview (at link) where Obama 1) legitimizes the "war on terrorism" (as necessary and true war); 2) escalate war in Afghanistan (regime change, like Iraq continues); 3) willing to attack targets inside Pakistan--i.e. invade any sovereign country to kill and destroy alleged 'terrorists' (think collateral damage on civilians or wrongly accused from missiles and UAV drones). Watch the interview, Obama does not answer one "why?" question of Lara Logan about the "necessity" of the "war on terrorism", he simply dodges and assumes its legitimacy without reason or debate. UNJUST WAR is the problem here. Where is the protest? The "war on terrorism" is not a true or legal constitutional war, and enabling Obama to do the same as Bush without criticism is hypocritical and partisan blindness. It has always been the goal to finish Iraq and legitimize and spread the war on terrorism. Note the media: War = Patriotism

POPSState Dept. Helps Oil Companies Get Iraq Contracts spoils of war. When it says State dept, think Condi Rice, who was an executive for Chevron. An administration uniquely stacked at the top with former oil executives (Bush had his own company with a bin Laden) was surely to get this done. We will see if this makes any difference in oil prices in the US, but of course this could never justify the war which is responsible also for the same high oil prices.

POPSMcCain's Image Campaign: "I Hate War" (You believe me don't you?) Soft, sentimental music plays with this message. Playing now on a TV near you, including in small states like West Virginia as well as those listed as "battle grounds". This is quite a contrast to his "Bom, bom, bom...bomb, bomb Iran" to the Beach Boys segment here. Will the real John McCain please stand up? Going into war with Iraq had nothing to do with "keeping the country I love safe", whatsoever, unless you still believe Iraq was behind 9/11 and possessed WMD. These are neoconservative wars planned in advance of 9/11 and James Woolsey and Bill Kristol (key neocon and PNAC members) are among his advisers, and his foreign policy is called "rogue state roll-back"--i.e. more wars for democracy!
