Israel Using Cluster Bombs on Gaza
blueridge
by blueridge  1-4-2009    11
Cluster bombs do not "target" militants tightly, urban areas especially. "Collateral damage" is absolutely guaranteed. More evidence that Israel is not making war on just Hamas, but Palestinians in their "collective punishment" tactics. The first pic was posted on Drudge. The last link in this clipmark has posted the CNN video showing general news of the Israeli attacks on Gaza which inadvertantly captured these bombs in action. 93 nations have banned them, except for US, Russia, and Israel.

For those who have McAfee anti-viral software, and the Firefox add on website monitor, the browser add-on now flashes RED when loading Clipmarks (like spam or phishing sites that you quickly avoid), which always used to be GREEN and safe. This will chase away new users, and possibly current ones if they believe the site is compromising their security and privacy.

CIA Official: Cheney Likely Ordered Forged Letter to Saddam
blueridge
by blueridge  8-9-2008    8
This was intended to link Iraq to 9/11. This vindicates my statement about the White House denial and that it was likely Cheney who considers himself "not a part of the Executive branch", but it was drafted on White House letterhead. We now have DOCUMENTED PROOF of a conspiracy to lie and fabricate evidence for war with Iraq! --all likely headed by Dick Cheney, chief of the neoconservative Fifth Column that hijacked the government by using 9/11 as their pretext for everything. For Cheney to use White House letterhead to order a forged letter from the CIA is also a blatant usurpation of power , making use of power that is not his ("not part of Executive branch"). Did Bush know or did Cheney act alone?

America Becoming Land of Surveillance
blueridge
by blueridge  6-25-2008    10
Despite lack of evidence that it is effective, or evidence that proves it is not from UK studies. But the security merchandisers are making a fortune and state and local governments are impulsively spending faster than a woman with a credit card: .P. Freeman said the domestic market for such systems last year had doubled over five years, to $9.2 billion, and estimated that it would more than double again by 2010, to more than $21 billion. You are paying for your loss of liberty, while they profit, which is insult to injury. It's worth wondering how many government officials own stock in security companies, which would be a conflict of interest in that lawmakers also profit through authorizing this spending.

The campaign here calls for the.... for the release of those teenagers who have been jailed for their principled refusal to serve in an army which occupies the Palestinian Territories. The imprisonment of these conscientious objectors is a violation of their human rights and contrary to International Law. Absolutely! The majority in Israel, and even media like Haaretz Press, are more predisposed to sympathize with Palestinians than the government elite. Even Olmert suggested they give back land from the '67 war to make peace with Syria and Palestinians, but he is now a lame duck PM.

Israeli Professor Criticizes "Zionist Colonial Project"--Israel a "Rogue State"
blueridge
by blueridge  1-8-2009    5
The war is part of an aim to establish "Greater Israel". Consider the author before closing your ears. He unmasks the real scheme behind the previous Israeli "withdrawal" from Gaza, up to the context of the present war, and rehearses the controversy of the creation of the state of Israel itself in a manner the media never does. This is largely the Palestinian view from a Jewish and Israeli writer, which the media never acknowledges, and therefore is blameless of the typical charges of "bigotry" or "anti-semitism" leveled at all such critics. His conclusion: ... it has become a rogue state with "an utterly unscrupulous set of leaders". A rogue state habitually violates international law, possesses weapons of mass destruction and practises terrorism. No Clipmark can do this article justice, it must read in its entirety at the source. Powerful! (Hat tip to TN for locating the the source).

The IDF parroted their usual response, i.e. "oh well". The murderers killed an unarmed older woman in cold blood. They shot at 30 others doing the same, killing 3. It would have been better if they were armed since Israel does not recognized civilians as non-combatants and White Flags mean nothing. (Coloradoright will post and say this was just fine, Palestinians are evil and Israel is "just defending itself". Consider this a pre-emptive comment CR).

Palin's Gone Wild: "Rogue Diva" vs McCain Advisers
blueridge

I knew this would happen. She has been handled, and that is something her history shows she does not like. Sarah is impossible to tame. McCain has a problem, and Sarah appears to be out for (no surprise here), Sarah. McCain's first crisis is his own pick for VP. This blog covers it well, along with CNN. Now read how this one adviser hauls off and knocks Palin right in the chops: "She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else. "Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom." WOW...THIS ADVISER IS RIGHT! If anyone can read her history and character, this McCain adviser just hit the proverbial nail on the head. THIS IS THE REAL SARAH PALIN, WHO HAS JUST BEEN VETTED.

U.S. Invades Syria: Kills 1 "Terrorist", 8 Civilians, 3 children
blueridge
by blueridge  10-28-2008    4
 1. invading a foreign country, 2. kill ratio 1:8, as usual, more civilians than alleged "terrorist", 3 of which were innocent children! Is this an acceptable kill ratio to be consider moral and just? Was this: a) "Collateral damage", entirely justified b) gross negligence and murder c) unjust attack and invasion, violating all rules of just warfare and "rules of engagement" (unarmed civilians) d) b and c Consider that this was done with soldiers, not a spy drone, which had to have sited the children in their gun sights for at least a moment, and were firing with gross negligence at anything that moved. Can they tell the difference between children and men? Can they tell the difference between unarmed men (civilians) and combatants? Or is it "just kill them all" because we are afraid, even though we are armed to the teeth? THIS WAS A SLAUGHTER. This was murder and invasion, and done without permission or notice to Syria, which the neocons want war with.

Jimmy Carter: Israel First Broke the Cease Fire
blueridge

Not mere opinion but based upon his direct communications and trips to broker a sustainable cease-fire agreement. The article is worth reading in its entirety for those who want an impartial view of the context of how the conflict started based upon best information available, and outside of the two parties involved. He says that there were 3 Israeli deaths in 7 years from Hamas rockets in Gaza. Carter summarizes the present status of conflict: After 12 days of "combat," the Israeli Defense Forces reported that more than 1,000 targets were shelled or bombed. During that time, Israel rejected international efforts to obtain a cease-fire, with full support from Washington . Seventeen mosques, the American International School, many private homes and much of the basic infrastructure of the small but heavily populated area have been destroyed. This includes the systems that provide water, electricity and sanitation. Heavy civilian casualties are being reported[/quote

Early American Christians Opposed Christmas
blueridge
by blueridge  12-14-2008    16
Christmas used to be opposed, not promoted. The mark of being a true Christian, for most in early America, was not observing Christmas, but strongly condemning and resisting its establishment by government. This article gives a brief and fair summary of Christian resistance. Every church, if they are courageous enough, should require this to be read if they want to present a "fair and balanced" view of history next time they complain about "taking Christ out of Christmas" when most of their Christian forefathers thought it was a corrupt "holy day" practice altogether, even when more religious. The article details that what was resisted by Christians has now again been slowly "established" by U.S. government: In 1836, Alabama became the first state to make Christmas a legal holiday. Other states followed... 2007, will be the centenary of Christmas being the first religious holiday whose celebration across the United States is sanctioned by law.

Republicanism vs. Democracy--An Important Distinction
blueridge
by blueridge  2-16-2009    6
Do not confuse this with the political parties. Ironic that the recent "republican" President talked of "democracy" so much when referring to the form of government of the U.S. and the type it preferred installing through force in "regime change". Direct democracy is the most dangerous to civil liberties , recently greatly trampled through legislation over 8 years, and is NOT the form of government the Constitution formulated. This is why people should not look to party labels, but to policies, legislation, and actions when evaluating Presidents and Congressmen, when the swear to "defend and uphold the Constitution" (not "the nation", but its official "rule of law"), which they usually violate almost immediately. The Constitution formed a "democratic federal republic", a republican form of government, not a democracy! This was first greatly overthrown during the Civil War by the majority in the Northern states when democratic despotism first raised it head.

Senator Byrd Rips McCain on Earmarks
blueridge

It takes ear-marks to get back our gas taxes for interstate and highways work. For some reason the federal government taxes at the pump alot but then alots and apportions money to be spent by ear-marks. This is a good example of a necessary and justifiable ear-mark. Note the republican Congresswoman Capito supported this very big ear-mark too, and West Virginians (and alot of truck lines who move freight through the state, and help pay for the interstates also through tolls) are not complaining. McCain lost all credibility on ear-marks when he supported the Bailout Bill absolutely loaded with them. Perhaps McCain's biggest hypocrisy on Earmarks is the enormous earmark spending (he supports) for Israel , instead of for Americans.

Bush and Cheney, based upon this, should be tried in criminal court for treason, or the appropriate charges for breaching CIA agents identity and for deliberately lying to justify the Iraq War. Palin: "Only Flag in My Office" is Israeli
blueridge
by blueridge  9-28-2008    12
So which "country first"? This is why she is McCain's running mate, as she bows to the neocon-Israeli agenda. Seriously, for those who defend her no matter what she does or says, blindly, what do you think of this statement which smacks of blatant flattery? You must conclude that she either (1) was mistaken in what she said (i.e. "she did not really mean that"), so she is unable to speak intelligently, or (2) she does mean it and therefore puts American and Alaska interests under that of the state called Israel and its militant Zionist agenda. Clearly she was trying to flatter and impress Peres, which is of course a form of lying for personal benefit, and not very Christian. Truly Palin is "AIPAC approved" and is a sycophant of the neocon agenda that McCain (and Lieberman) push. TRUSTWORTHINESS is something that has been lacking in Washington, and it appears that Palin is no "reformer" in that regard. (Again, not claiming that Obama is worthy either. He is not).

Putin on Bush: Bush "Not in Charge" of US Affairs
blueridge
by blueridge  9-12-2008    8
This is real interesting. Three things at least can be learned: 1. Putin is on to the neoconservatives, who have Bush's ear, and control him to a great degree. Putin is right: Bush is a Puppet President 2. Putin knows Cheney's influence over Bush, who is driving the Georgia-Russia and NATO-Russia neocon led conflict. Bush is stupid and easily manipulated to a large degree. 3. Putin is naive and stupid to separate Bush the man from Bush policies. He speaks against Russia now, therefore against Putin. Reason? Bush has the ability to make light and "charm" (for lack of better word) others into frivolity and laughter, but which is a decoy from his serious crimes and corrupt actions. I wrote earlier in regard to Russia, Bush treated Putin well at his ranch in Texas after 9/11 (which was an excuse for Putin to trample Chechnyans by branding them "terrorists"), but now he will stab him in the back (missile treaties around Russia for NATO).
