Finally, Rudy's 9/11 Lies are Being Exposed
    zasel
    by zasel  10-26-2007    3
I've been waiting impatiently, for Mr. Giuliani's lies to begin catching up with him. He has been running all over the country claiming to be an "expert on terrorism," and Islamofascism. Some voters, outside the New York metropolitan area, are falling for his story hook, line and sinker. But now, his own words given during testimony he gave to the 9/11 commission are leaking into the media, and it tells a very different story. It presents a person who knows virtually nothing about terrorism, al Qaeda or bin Laden. He proves the falsity of his claims concerning the inadequate radios his fire fighters were forced to use that fateful day, along with other information that paints a very different picture from the one he has been unveiling for the public during the campaign.

"in sickness and in health....til death do us part"? McCain claims to be a man of honor and his word. This is an interesting test of that "straight talk". McCain claimed to be a Christian too during the primaries, so this is a fair consideration to weigh. "Maverick" should actually be "pragmatist", John will do whatever John wants.

You know I hate to admit it, but it's true. Obama may be a "rock star" (although he's no Jim Morrison) and he may be a great guy (although he's no Bobby Kennedy) I have to agree: on the hard issues, he hasn't shown us that he has what it takes. This was exactly the failure of Royale (Sego) in France. The sad thing is that, although it took me years of college and field research to do it the hard way, I estimate that with the resources of a national politician, and about $25,000,000 it would only take about three or four months of intensive study to come up to speed on the relevant facts of Islamic "terrorism" and the situation in Iraq, both military and civilian. Why is it that I some how feel that quite a few of the people on Clipmarks are more qualified to lead the country than any of the people currently running? (Both left and right!) Come to think of it, why aren't any of you guys running? How long will it be before we get an erudite, informed and passionate leader?

Then at the end of the article this: "We have no credible, specific information suggesting an imminent attack," a DHS official said. More propaganda (from Brian Ross at ABC who appears to be the real perps favorite parrot) to "remind you" that "jihadists want to kill us every day", and the FBI has known this "for two years" but its only being reported now, because it is timely to do so. Meanwhile the Office of Homeland tyranny says "we have no credible threat" information. It would be too convenient that terrorists would attack the U.S. now when 70 percent disagree with the war, impeachment against Cheney has been introduced, and Bush's ratings at an all time low. Who would benefit most from a terrorist attack in the U.S.? Who and what agenda benefited most from 9/11? Meanwhile shootings at schools are way up, violent crimes within every state, even family murder-suicides, while motor vehicle accidents kill tens of thousands. Americans should fear each oth

    McCain Flips at Legit Question
    cptenaud
    by cptenaud  7-3-2008    3
McCain's response? "Please," he said, recoiling back in his seat in distaste at the very question. Uh uh. That's not good enough. You would assume that given all the whining over General Clark's legitimate point, that John McCain had some obvious answer to the question. Instead, he refused to answer the question, and let Joe Lieberman and Lindsay Graham come to his defense, babbling to the reporter about character, but not a word about qualifications. The fact of the matter is that General Clark was absolutely right. McCain's service, while heroic and honorable, is not very relevant when it comes to preparing him to be the military's ultimate commander. His experience didn't involve executive decision making in the military, or global strategy. Very few candidates for the presidency have had the experience in life that prepares them for that role. In fact, McCain said it himself in 2003, that some of our best Commanders in Chief had no military experience at all.

The New Meaning Of "Politics Of Change"

      * Obama repeatedly vowed to meet with various heads of terror states - most notably Ahmadinejad of Iran - "without preconditions." Then, with the nomination in sight, he zigzagged: "There's no reason why we would necessarily meet with Ahmadinejad. He's not the most powerful person in Iran." * In October, he supported NAFTA expansion. In March, campaigning in the Ohio primary, he called for a "reopening" of the trade pact's terms. This week, he called his own primary rhetoric "overheated" and said NAFTA has had a positive effect on the US economy. Change, yes. But "change we can believe in"?

some more quotations: Open Source Democracy—which I wrote about a decade ago—is not simply a way to get candidates elected to office. It is a collective reprogramming of the social software, a disengagement from the myths through which we abdicate responsibility, and a reclamation of our role as citizens who participate in the creation of the society in which we want to live. This is not personal democracy at all, but a collective and participatory democracy where we finally accept our roles as the fully literate and engaged adults who can make this happen. " i like it. One should be active in how he feels life should be.

As is shown with Ron Paul, both the Media and the republican "establishment" CFR republicans must cast aspersions on the candidate who adheres to the Constitution, since they will not be bound by it. The "powers that be" want to continue the neoconservative's "war on terror" (middle east Democratic Jihad), and will employ whatever tactics necessary. Ron Paul wins again in FOX poll and Giuliani got ripped (deservedly) by Fred Thompson who compared his positions to Hillary, who Giuliani has been trying to contrasts himself from. Ron Paul is increasing, Giuliani and the CFR republicans decreasing. Ron Paul finally told the listeners that many polls do not even include him. The media are not reporting, they are deciding for you, and attempting to manipulate the outcomes.

Democratic Sweep Would Bring Mammoth Tax Increases

All told, the Democratic platform could cost more than $700 billion over four years. I have a million ideas, Clinton tells the Boston Globe, and the country cant afford them all. On that point, even Clintons critics agree with her. It is pretty clear that more spending programs have been promised out of repealing the top Bush tax cuts than repeal would be able to fund, Nate Bailey of the Tax Foundation tells Newsmax. Its almost certain that funding all of these proposed programs would require massive tax hikes, the scale of which the U.S. has never seen. Sabato, author of A More Perfect Constitution: 23 Proposals to Revitalize Our Constitution, believes taxes will be a cornerstone of the coming Republican campaign.

McCain's Double Standard on Campaign Visits to Military Bases
    cptenaud
    by cptenaud  7-25-2008    4
With Department of Defense rules prohibiting political campaigning on military bases, it was determined that in some cases McCain could visit the installations as a senator but could not engage in any political activity or have news media present. McCain campaign officials said Thursday they intentionally did not campaign on military property. "We follow the rules," said senior McCain adviser Steve Schmidt. Because all three presidential candidates are sitting senators, DoD officials have privately noted for some weeks that the whole matter of drawing the line between Senate business and campaigning is sensitive. A U.S. Army official told CNN there are no pending requests from any of the campaigns to visit Army bases at this time. He noted that Sen. Barack Obama recently visited Fayetteville, North Carolina, but did not go to Fort Bragg; and Sen. Hillary Clinton visited Killeen, Texas, but did not go to Fort Hood.

But if you have doubt, after clearing away the feelings and looking at the facts, then by proceeding you will put yourself in a rush to judgment before the facts are clear that has left many Americans disillusioned about our nation in other matters. This is not a matter of politics, it is not a matter of feelings. It is a matter of science and facts and educated men squaring off and displaying their knowledge. Where Have All the Leaders Gone?...Lee Iacocca rant/book

Fighting words from Lee Iacocca in this rant bemoaning the state of the US government and outlining the qualities needed by a true leader. He bluntly examines how the current administration stacks up in terms of leadership and implores us to use his leadership test to screen presidential candidates and choose wisely. Here's a bit more: "My friends tell me to calm down. They say, "Lee, you're eighty-two years old. Leave the rage to the young people." I'd love to—as soon as I can pry them away from their iPods for five seconds and get them to pay attention. I'm going to speak up because it's my patriotic duty. I think people will listen to me. They say I have a reputation as a straight shooter. So I'll tell you how I see it, and it's not pretty, but at least it's real. I'm hoping to strike a nerve in those young folks who say they don't vote because they don't trust politicians to represent their interests. Hey, America, wake up. These guys work for us." Words of wisdom
