POPSDon't Write Like An Idiot This is a reclip of an older clip that Invictus made. His original exceeded the current clip limit so I couldn't revive it. Refresher everyone.

POPSa solace in words What comfort has reading brought you? What courage has a well-turned phrase stirred in you? Books are like steadfast friends: the words never change, yet I never tire of reading them. One of my favorite sounds on Earth is the gentle shushing of pages turning. What will the next page bring? comfort, joy, peace, sanity, conviction, courage, hope, relief, laughter? Exciting, isn't it?

POPSReligion versus the Gospel I do not agree with the author's view of religion in every case, but others might view it as such. It inspired me to examine my own thoughts on things.

POPSLook, I wrote a book! Okay, I didn't write this book. But if I were to write a book about bacon, it would surely look like this.

POPSDon't end up simply having visited this world When it is over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument. I don't want to end up simply having visited this world. -Mary Oliver From New and Selected Poems

POPSHumanity in print How do you feel about books? I find them very companionable. They are excellent teachers and fine friends. A great book on a rainy day, curled up in a far away place...

POPSIf you can't trust a dictionary...what can you trust? Spell check is not the only problem. If you hear it wrong, it gets written wrong. You see it written wrong and it becomes right in your head. The cycle repeats until the incorrect becomes acceptable and our language perishes. Don't even ask me about "for all intensive purposes."

POPSMoses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom From Q and A with the author (first clip link): Q: What message does Moses impart? Three values lessons can be gleaned from the book. Freedom is a God-given right. God is always with us. And we should always be free to dream. Harriet Tubman’s role in the freedom struggle can give readers a sense of their own potential and power. "Every great dream begins with a dreamer," said Tubman. "Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."

POPSWow, Masbury, Please explain this. Very interesting blog, Masbury. I really did enjoy it, even though I fall into the Calvinist camp. This statement of yours sounds profound and on the surface appealing. However, after noodling it, seems to be quite inappropriate as it pertains to sola fide, grace, and salvation. What does this mean?
