POPSI'm a Starfucker! It's true, but I don't leave comments on say http://missmonstermel.livejournal.com or ittybiz.com because I know I have nothing interesting to add to the conversation. "Oh my giant space monkey, you rock!" isn't exactly all that deep or interesting. Reading the archive thing? Yea, totally did/doing that.

POPSThriving Ink I really dig these shirts. Priority this month though is Heifer International donation, new violin bows (off eBay of course), a tiny violin for Otter perhaps (also off eBay), & and then *maybe* fun stuff.

POPSDali plus Zombies Hey, it's a fucking wierd idea and it's on a *black* shirt! The only downside is that I gave a buck to a bloody Mac user, but hey, none of us perfect.

POPSGet Free Swatches and Give to Fellow Humans Easily Today is Spoonflower.com's free swatch day! Who wouldn't love to get custom designed fabric? Now you can test it out at a great bargain. You only get two but it still is worth it. I ordered three and gave 5USD to Heifer International. Heifer International give livestock and such to families as a way to give them a way out of poverty. It is really super cool. Spoonflower has also added a couple of new fabrics; organic cotton knit and bamboo-cotton poplin. I got a swatch of each of those and the third is the standard quilting weight.

POPSI'm in this week's Spoonflower fabric contest! Mine is the purple spiral leopard pattern. As of right now, I'm totally bloody losing. Big surprise there! (sarcasm, well duh.) Winning is the so-very-not-great hedgie-somethingsomething pattern. Clearly, Smells_Fishy is the best pattern of the choices, and yet half the votes that the hedgie-nonsense has. What is wrong with most of these people voting?! I made my easily, without a lot of work, but Smells_Fishy obviously took some brains and yet it doesn't appear that it will win. I'm happy to say that I'm obviously out of touch with the people voting.

POPSWolvesBlood Shirt by Kevin Devine Very cool. I think I'd get it if it were on asphalt, and definitely on black. Wolves are the best wild animal afterall, and black is the best clothing colour. Select Series shirt from Threadless.

POPSHadrian Shirt I was poking around on Threadless last week and spotted this shirt, but unfortunately completely forgot about it! Now it's sold out. Damn. It.

POPSGranny Spiral I attempted to crochet this in two colours. After an hour or two of wrangling I finally managed to get to the fifth and final round. That's when I realized I had completely screwed up! I haven't made a granny square before, and didn't realize that the corners aren't crocheted *into* the chain stitches but around. Oi! Will make another attempt tonight after trying my had at a traditional granny square.

POPSOregon Trail Quiz from mental_floss Here's a quick quiz about Oregon Trail, a game which I have fond memories of playing in my childhood. (At least there was never a dog laughing at you that you couldn't shoot when you screwed up!) I got 100% because I'm a big dork and also a good guesser. The last question I knew nothing about, nor anything about the band. From their photo I think I'm glad to not know them.

POPSFunky Monster Shirt.Woot I like this. It's wierd, has surreal grossness, and a really nice simplicity in the style. Also it's a black shirt! It seems that so few shirts end up on black at shirt.woot. I guess there aren't so many WOBs in the world these days.

POPSpfft there is no god Buy me things? Please? Cat and Girl is a great comic. I have an original drawing from Dorothy for giving her 5.23USD many years ago. I should go find that!

POPSCrocheted Dodecahedron Pattern From Berroco I was browsing Berroco's site after having bought their Yoga yarn from Wool Mountain on Etsy, and started checking out their free patterns. They have some unique ones, and I thought this would be a neat toy for my little ones. I could put cellophane inside it to make it crinkle. Of could I'd use worsted since I have so much of it, maybe out of that rainbow yarn I've got. Ooooo

POPSDestash Yarn from Wool Mountain Bought some yarn listed by Wool Mountain ( @ Etsy). Some sort of funky yarn from Berroco called Yoga. Can't wait to get it and make a 'Bruise' version of my crochet dread falls! Also came with a copy of her freeform crochet hat for free! I've had that hotlisted on ArtFire for some time, so that's pretty cool. :)

POPSBabe Fiber Starter Spinning Wheel This is the cheapest spinning wheel I've found, and this site seems to have the cehapest price for it. It has a built-in Lazy Kate and comes with six bobbins. I think it's pretty neat that it's made with PVC pipe and a wheelchair wheel. Clever! I've found a lot of plans for making one's own spinning wheel (like this one http://www.pjsadventures.com/DragonsKeep/personal/PVCWheel.html). One the one hand, I'm lazy; on the other, I don't have two hundred bucks to spend on this. Also, as Nick says, we also have lots of PVC glue. Either way, this is pretty cool!

POPSBig Red/Black T-rex Plushie This is so cute and cool. Really neat colours, big funny eyes and teeth. It's looks snuggly. FlakyFriends (@ Etsy) has a lot of unique stuffies.

POPSSling backpack for left or right shoulder! I carry a lot of stuff, what with being a mom, artist, and crafter. Always need snacks, paper towels, paper for notes and the kiddo to draw on, yarn, and who knows what-all! I like how sling bags fit, but finding one that can go on my left shoulder is hard! I've got a pinched nerve on my right side, so carrying too much weight gets to be very very bad. My hope is that this bag will be an improvement over my messenger bag (a hand-me-down from my sister), and also not kill me like my current right-shoulder only sling bag.

POPSAwesome Bad Religion Belt Want, so want! I like belts (even though I forget to wear them usually) and love Bad Religion. Nick says that if I wore this I would get dirty looks and/or spend all my time explaining it. If only people would ignore me! Still want, and may very well get.

POPSMy favourite of Tindlebears - Grimm OOAK Teddy Bear I want this bear so incredibly much! He's the most awesome teddy bear ever! But sadly, tindlebears makes bears that are meant as collectibles and not for kids. :( Otter would never be happy having a teddy bear that he can look at but not snuggle and kiss. Sigh! I want it so so much!

POPSkiss . . . I caught this print from a treasury on the Etsy front page. I was positive it was a really artsy photo of a woman sucking on a nipple. Maybe it should have been! Stupid birds.

POPScraftyarn @ etsy Learning to crochet was a bad idea, now I need yarn. Lots of it. I really want yarn from craftyyarn. Recycled yarn! How awesome is that?!

POPScourtneycourtney @ etsy Really cool dresses for lil toddler girls. Various combinations of funky, wierd, and cute. I love that they're made from recycled fabrics too! I wish I already had a girl kiddo to buy these for!
