POPSBorder is "Privacy Free Zone" This is unbelievable... What happens when China decides it wants to do the same thing and download our intellectual property in bulk? The government needs to focus on securing our borders against real threats rather than find a great new way to spy on its own citizens.

POPSCisco succession woes Okay so I was curious... What do you think a "likely successor" to the CEO of one of the largest (tech) companies in the world? So I checked their 10k and he makes like $500k plus maybe a million in restricted stock grants. He has been there for 14 years. He could easily make $50m at Silver Lake, and probably work fewer hours. C'mon Cisco, you need to be able to retain key talent... After all, a man's gotta eat.

POPSAccused arsonist, 10, faces possible life term Okay seriously??? So this kid's mother and siblings die in a fire. The police question the kid for THREE DAYS -- until he confesses. Sure, they read him his miranda rights, but he's TEN YEARS OLD, and his mom has just died in a horrific fire, his dad has already died of AIDS. Those cops who busted him must have been pretty tough - taking on a child who has no guardian to interfere with their interogation... Pretty pathetic it took them three days to break him.

POPSEPA Responds to post-9/11 air quality concerns You know I think this is a really interesting debate. If the government had not come out and assured the public that the air quality of lower Manhattan was safe would lower Manhattan been turned into a modern day Love Canal, dealing a fatal blow to the financial service economy in the US? Does anyone really believe that breathing the air in Manhattan is ever safe? (especially on a day like today with the heat and humidity in the 80s)
