POPSINTERNET PSEUDO QUOTES The pseudo-quote is therefore without authenticity or meaning, and is just another of those political slogans which are used not as an assistance to, but as a substitute for real thought. It is not a deep truth, although it is constantly treated as one. Burke incidentally hated such things. He thought that cheap political slogans, or ‘maxims’ as he called them, enabled politicians to invoke principles of expediency, so they could pursue their own selfish interests instead of fulfilling their obligations to country, party and people. To him they were quite distinct from the deeps truths, or as he calls them here, ‘first principles’, (see next comment)

POPSWives of G8 leaders urged to boycott summit over 'sexist' Berlusconi The appeal to the first ladies was drawn up by for women: four academics who accused the prime minister of sexism over plans drawn up by his party, People of Freedom, to promote actresses, a former Big Brother contestant and a Miss Italy model as candidates for the European Parliament elections earlier this month. The proposal was later shelved after Mr Berlusconi's wife called it "shamelessly trashy.

POPSYaoi Yaoi (やおい?) is a popular term for female-oriented fictional media that focus on homoerotic or homoromantic male relationships, usually created by female authors. POPSBatik is a wax-resist dyeing technique used on textile. Due to modern advances in the textile industry the term has also been used for fabrics which incorporates the traditional batik patterns although not necessarily produced using the batik techniques. Silk batik is especially popular. Javanese traditional batik, especially from Jogjakarta, has special meanings which is rooted to the Javanese idea of the universe

POPSA law to ban plagiarists for a year from using print
A few naysayers may argue that print bans might be hard to enforce, and that banning communication based on mere accusations of wrongdoing raises some minor issues of due process and free speech. But if those issues don't trouble us in the Internet setting, why should they trouble us here? Yes, if banned from using print, some students will be unable to do their school work, some adults will face minor inconvenience in their daily lives, and a few troublemakers will not be allowed to participate in -- or even listen to -- political debate. Maybe they'll think more carefully the next time, before allowing themselves to be accused of copyright infringement. In short, a three-strikes system is just as good an idea for print as it is for the Internet. Which country will be the first to adopt it? Once we have adopted three-strikes for print, we can move on to other media. Next on the list: three-strikes systems for sound waves, and light waves. These media are too important to

POPSOctopus and propaganda and octopus and... there are strange and beautiful sites out there, and some of them are interesting and very specific. The representation of the Octopus in propaganda and political cartoons, and influence on, or co-option of, popular culture. The intent behind Vulgar Army is to identify and criticise themes in the use of the octopus as a polemic metaphor, for example, its use as signifying 'action at a distance' or in dehumanising a group.

POPSStarbucks ... In Italy we don't have Starbucks, I went there sometimes in London... but yet, I can't uderstand WHICH is the difference between a coffee and a Starbucks coffee. The only one that I can think is that the waiter that carries the former has a one-to-one relationship with his/her boss, who, besides, is likely to be seen behind the bar, actually MAKING the coffee. Why do modern and advanced people prefer to work for anonimous, far and mighty business giants? Let me understand, really.
