POPSAussies to Wear Bionic Rugby Jerseys The Rugby World Cup starts this week in France. When you're competing at such an intense level every little bit helps. How times have changed though -- I never thought I'd associate rugby with "negative ionisation charges."

POPSOutback driver survives 2 days in mangled wreck What a frightening experience this must have been for her. Two days with nothing to eat or drink in the middle of nowhere and you're stuck in a horrific car wreck with no way of getting out. Thank the gods someone finally stumbled across her.

POPSAustralia defeats Sri Lanka to win 2007 Cricket World Cup Video wrap up here . Gilchrist was simply on fire -- just watching the highlights is enough to see what kinda form he was in. Great to see McGrath go out on top. The rest of tournament was complete madness ... will be interesting to see how history writes this one.

POPSAustralia march into World Cup Cricket final Go Aussie. I thought South Africa would put up a much better fight than this. We just completely destroyed them and go into the final against Sri Lanka with so much momentum. Brisbane's own Matty Hayden in the runs again -- he's pulling away as the leading runscorer in this World Cup.

POPSCroc Hunter's daughter Bindi on a whirlwind US tour What an incredible line up of appearances for little Bindi Irwin -- she is truly a marvel to watch. When asked by Ellen about her recently deceased father Steve she said: "I feel like I'm him. All over ... I want him to be proud of me"

POPSAustralia destroys England in 1st Ashes Test Go Aussie. Wish I could have been there for this (Brisbane is my hometown). Ponting just keeps pulling out the big scores -- just awesome. I'm sure England will fight back, but I reckon we win the series 3-0, maybe 3-1.

POPSGreat Idea: Bonsai Sitting Service A friend of mine just started an online bonsai store in Australia. They also offer bonsai sitting -- what a great (cute) concept. Are there any bonsai owners out there?

POPSNed Kelly, Australian folk hero I had never heard of Ned Kelly before, but was interested as to why he had the iron bucket on his head. Turns out it was a suit of armor. Seems Australians are divided over his status: folk hero or murdering bushranger.

POPSMy Place on Clipmarks: Brisbane (Australia) Ah beautiful Brisbane, Australia's most liveable city (so a sign says somewhere). I spent my first 21 years here. It's such a pleasant place to grow up. Good people, stunning weather and nature. When I was born it was still very much an oversized provincial town, but it's truly become a metropolitan hub now. I love it!

POPSThe Rise (and fall?) of Apple's Music Empire Kohler is a huge Apple fan and talks up their products as well as Jobs does. However, he goes on to say that the iPod/iTunes system will follow the Macintosh into nicheville. I tend not to agree -- I think Jobs is smarter than that now -- but it's definitely a scary potential outcome for Apple freaks like me.

POPSTaking your mobile to the grave They really are the pets of the future. This is only going to become more common as our "pocket device" becomes our major interface to the web and all the content and communications that come via it. They're also going to become more humanlike in both style and function -- it will be truly sad to depart from them. Question is, when will THEY feel sad to depart from us?

POPSGreat Blog: cablog.com.au Interesting blog from Sydney -- taxi stories and some perspective on the recent racial tension. Thanks Gemma for the tip.

POPSHodge and Lillee Brad Hodge (seen on left as a young'un) just scored a double century in only his third match for Australia. Visit www.baggygreen.com.au for the scoop. Gotta love those shorts on Dennis Lillee. Thanks Ben Barren for the pic: www.benbarren.bogspot.com
