POPSAh, Love! "Ah, love, let us be true To one another! for the world, which seems To lie before us like a land of dreams, So various, so beautiful, so new, Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light, Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain." --Matthew Arnold, from Dover Beach

POPSHow do we replace a friend? Some days ago, a friend of mine died. Tina was very sick, since many years, but so calm and quite that to stay near her was like to stay under a tree in a summer day. There is no way to replace a friend like her. I'm sad, but today I want to say that I'm grateful I met her.

POPSNorth Pole without Ice I look forward to the comforting data from real scientists which will refute such alarmist liberal mischief that has even fooled the CIA. I suspect these silly rumours began oin a bunker in Berlin.

POPSMarijuana, Chocolate and Greek History Apart from anything else you have to ask how the BBC has sunk so low as to waste space on the front page of their website with drivel such as this. One can imagine a group of late night pothead BBC staff giggling their way through the munchies to create this useless piece of information. I intend writing to compalin and urge others to follow my lead. What a terrible example to set young squirrels.

POPSRocky The Robo-Squirrel an ornithologist with Cornell University, was able to talk to a parrot through speakers hidden in a bush. The parrot was later seen encouraging other parrots to follow a set of commandments. At Indiana University, researchers were even able to build a robot that could successfully challenge male lizards to push up contests. Can complete control of the reptile psyche be far behind? “Whether it's a bunch of squirrels in a field or humans in a mall, there are general principles of behavior that seem to hold up across species lines,” said Greg Demas, director of Indiana University's Center for the Integrative Study of Animal Behavior. This indicates just one eventual outcome of this line of research: creating robots that can successfully challenge humans to push up contests.
