Since the stuff HRH promotes has been round for hundreds of years, surely if it works it is no longer 'alternative'? Isn't it rather the case that these wonderful traditonal (usually organic, natural and holistic) therapies are challenged by the alternatives of modern mumbo jumbo stuff based on mere science, and other near supernatural belief systems?

Anger is related to anxiety is related to fear. Anger is hostile, aggressive, destructive in word and deed. It is a sign of our cultural values, our moral values and our spiritual values. People are frightened.

I wonder sometimes if there are more than a few conditions with similar symptoms all tagged bipolar or schizophrenia. There are symptoms observed by the treating doctor, which can be qualified by an interview with the patient who is generally not in a state to give an objective description. Often the questions can be suggestive, and the answers can depend on whether the patient is prepared to co-operate, or be contrary. This study does point to an imbalance that can occur as a matter of course, and may show that many cases of bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, are not necessarily unusual, hereditary or chronic but can strike due to something as simple as an unbalanced diet, sleep deprivation, or a hormone deficiency. An unbalanced lifestyle can throw our minds off balance. It's all part of the same unit. Mind Body and soul

This sends out a message that the most vulnerable and mixed up people are beneath consideration. There seems to me to be a growing tendency of using psychiatric diagnoses as a form of moral abuse, and stuff like this - based on hard lined cash - reinforces a grossly unfortunate cultural tendency to negative attitudes towards those who need our help, support and love.

Study: Monthly fasting may help heart
    pokkets
    by pokkets  12-10-2007
The monthly cycle is based on a Mormon fasting ritual, once a month. Seems like a kind of Detox. The period does not seem as important, as the practice of relieving the body of toxins and fats among other things, that are part of the average high carbohydrate, processed food diets, that our systems still have trouble dealing with. Giving the digestive system a 'break' and some 'recovery time'.

    Feeding Cows, Not People
    duvelic
    by duvelic  11-25-2007    1
More from article: The American fast-food diet and the meat-eating habits of the wealthy around the world support a world food system that diverts food resources from the hungry. The cattlemen also tell us, “If grain were not fed to livestock, more grain would not necessarily be available to feed the hungry.” (41) In reality, however, if grain were not fed to livestock, it—and/or the resources needed for its production—would be available for a variety of uses, including feeding the hungry. “Were it not for grazing animals like cattle, hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. grazing land would have no productive value. No more than 15 percent of the grazing land could be used to produce crops.” (42) Actually, however, the food value to humans of growing grain and other crops for human consumption on the 15 percent of land currently used for grazing that would be suitable for such crops would be comparable to the food value now produced by grazing cattle on the entire amount.
