POPS President above the law, Nominee for US Attorney General says
This warmongering White House just keeps unraveling our Constitution, our principle, our ideals, our society and our politics day after day. A common idea we use to have, for example, was that "No man is above the law." But apparently this nominee thinks the President is above the law. And the talk is still how he's suppose to be approved!? Screw him. Screw any politician who votes for him. Of course in the real world we all know that the rich, if not 'above the law,' normally have a 'better,' law, better results with the law, better lawyers, special consideration. So too big names, celebrities, Hollywood stars. Most of US prisons, for example, are overpopulated with the poor, the least educated and the minorities. (The USA has the biggest prison populations in the world, BTW, by %) The audaciousness of these warmongers. Theyshoot you in the face and expect/get the victim to apologize for being there (a Cheney factual example). Well...no longer a good country. Hopefully

If this does all get turned over to this FBI investigator -- who is also the special prosecutor recently appointed to investigate the U.S. attorney firing scandal. --I think the Republicans are going to wish they never started this hyped-up, unfounded ACORN story.

It is the responsibility of citizens to make sure this happens. Chief Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Tribunals following World War II, stated, "let me make clear that while this law is first applied against German aggressors, the law includes, and if it is to serve a useful purpose it must condemn aggression by any other nations, including those which sit here now in judgement." It is time, no matter who becomes our next president, to bring the criminals of the Bush regime to justice. We, the people, have the power and we can restore justice. Fourth Amendment protections against unwarranted search and seizure, for instance, did not apply in the United States as long as the president was combatting terrorism, the Justice Department said in an Oct. 23, 2001, memo. Story continues below "First Amendment speech and press rights may also be subordinated to the overriding need to wage war successfully," Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo wrote, adding later: "The current campaign against terrorism may require even broader exercises of federal power domestically." On Sept. 25, 2001, Yoo discussed possible changes to the laws governing wiretaps for intelligence gathering. In that memo, he said the government's interest in keeping the nation safe following the terrorist attacks might justify warrantless searches. That memo did not specifically attempt to justify the government's warrantless wiretapping program, but it provided part of the foundation.

POPSDid Someone Get to Mukasey? On Wednesday, during Michael Mukasey's first confirmation hearing, he stated that torture is always wrong and never excusable. Then, mysteriously, the very next day, during his second hearing he was asked if waterboarding is torture, he refused to respond coherently. I have suspicions that the white house was NOT happy with his comments on day one about torture, and gently explained the facts of life to him.

The president was so upset that one of his secret service agents had to bring him an L&M cigarette and a Bud Light Beer. President Obama finally calmed down. He called up the Attorney General and told him to draw up the paperwork for a counter offer.
