Cat Chases Black Bear Up Tree
Turtle
by Turtle  6-10-2006    1
I saw this on the morning news and thought it was hysterical. The photo here is cropped. The original, shown on TV, has Jack the cat sitting at the base of the tree standing guard. Proportionally, the cat was no bigger the bear's head. Jack is de-clawed, by the way.

Fast food trans fat level higher in US
Turtle
by Turtle  4-14-2006    2
McDonald's & KFC are not allowed to use partially hydrogenated oils in Denmark resulting in much lower trans fat levels. There is no ban in the US, so they use as much as they want. The New England Journal of Med tested a typical McDonalds meal. It found 10.2 g of trans fat in the US while only 0.33 g in Denmark.
