POPSAutistic Amanda Baggs uses the same keyboard I do! AND she hangs out in Second Life? (For the record, the keyboard is a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000.) I find Amanda's video inspiring and hope it continues to set a precedent for more sharing from autistic & Asperger perspectives.

POPSKei's "Sayonara" music video has wonderful editing I really, REALLY like this track. I'm not sure what to dub it stylistically, but it's very high-tempo, techy, melodic trance with great vox and bleepy SFX. Nothing too "out there", but a solid performer. The music video has ULTRA visual accompaniment — the camera pans, angles, and how it's all put together work incredibly well. One of the best parts is the clever editing of looped Second Life animations to give them a more dynamic, varied feel. Bravo! One of my fave Second Life vids so far. ^_^

POPSChouchou, a music group which exists only in Second Life Outstanding stuff. Their video for "coma" is beautifully shot and has great Second Life sets to support the gently rolling beats and gorgeous harmonies. I'd say it's somewhat ambient, new agey... very peaceful and good to relaxing to. I hope it's only a sliver of time before they get their stardom!

POPSWacky stuff you can buy in Second Life This has gotta be one of my fave blog posts in a long time — Patrick's got the goods, and uh, the bads too. :D (Yeah, sometimes Second Life is like bringing MAD Magazine alive in the best of ways.)

POPSKewl Second Life pictures on Koinup "Koinup is the first social network to share your virtual life by publishing your machinima, screenshots and virtual stories." Interesting. I like the WindLight ones, of course.

POPSBizarre "texture" splog I was doing some websearches for Second Life texture tools, and came across this odd site. Looks like random text and links jammed together, and the odd, very blocky line graphic. Not sure what they're trying to sell — at least I can give 'em credit for being minimalist. :)

POPSBeautiful glass textures I was looking for glass textures to use in Second Life, and came across this offline collection — some of them would look quite splendid in a virtual environment!

POPSPacRimX list of Second Life resources If you're into Second Life, this is a wonderful listing, neatly indented and sectioned into categories, of educational resources pertaining to Second Life and the skills within. Some things I made are included too... always glad to see them being used well. Put together by a Resident named PRX Aero|Stan Trevena.

POPSColorful Second Life photoblogging From Japan to our computers comes the work of Petra Ash — this is her "picture diary" to the world of Second Life, laden with vivaciousness, audacity, and many bold splashes of imagery from within the world. One of the finest I've seen yet, whether you've ever been in Second Life or not.

POPS"Second Life" Abalone Geekwear Aster Lardner of Second Life has crafted this really cool, and self-admittedly geeky :D version of the SL eye-in-hand logo. I dig those pastel hues on that circuit board! Check more of his photos out @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/asterbeast/

POPSRoo Reynolds, Metaverse Evangelist I like job titles that make you do a double-take. I recently spotted this in the Beeb online. These types of articles are becoming more common; I can't imagine it's too long before the novelty wears off and they become ubiquitously meshed yet valuable, like what Steve Jobs thinks of Levi jeans. ;) From an insider perspective (I work for Linden Lab), I should note how dapper Roo aka Algernon looks, and how unique his head is shaped: you'll often not find prominent eyebrows like that in Second Life, especially paired with big blue eyes and a teardrop-shaped head not unlike that of a classic Gray alien. Lots of room for avatar customization, that's for sure.

POPSWanna buy a virtual Easter Island head? Among other things... in the online world of Second Life, I'm frequently looking for eclectic goods which might not be of much practical value, but have a lot of humor quotient. Ever since I saw the Easter Island heads in the classic vidgame Gradius, I knew I'd want to put one on my front lawn. Add to this the fact that, Daryth Kennedy, who made these, also makes lots of beautiful dragons (one is pictured) and composite sun goddess avatars too... pretty!

POPSWhat if the Beatles were avatars? Menno Ophelia, a Resident of Second Life, made this inspired tribute to one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time. His Flickr photostream also has tributes to Nirvana and Kraftwerk. This particular shot was taken in the famous region of Midnight City. Makes me think about how John Lennon might have used a computer to make music.
