POPSWatermelon May Have Viagra-effect In watermelons, these include lycopene, beta carotene and the rising star among its phyto-nutrients – citrulline – whose beneficial functions are now being unraveled. POPSWatermelons planted on White House lawn? Mayor who spread cartoon email resigns. Many white people still don't get it about racial humor, thinking, "Hey, doesn't bother me!" But that it doesn't bother them that it offends millions of people of color - and that they can't even see why it should - is how racism works! They're still not taking people of color seriously, assuming that if it doesn't bother the white people they know, nobody should be bothered by it. Racism, in their eyes, is only is called racism if white people say it is. Which is one more unintentional way of saying "People of color don't matter."

POPSIt's the smell of the future :) "For example, the aroma of virgin olive oil stems from the volatiles synthesized by olives. By modifying the activity of enzymes that generate these substances, it may be possible to alter the flavor of the resulting oils."

POPSAnd the worst taste in a campaign mailer award goes to... Here's the rest of the story: Local party officials immediately climbed out of the muck to repudiate the piece and apologize, right? Not exactly. In a news release, the party disavowed the Hitler comparison but acknowledged that it had sent the piece out, in its entirety, because it was interesting and "might incite conversation." However, the release went on, "This sort of inflammatory language is neither condoned nor encouraged by our party." Except, that is, when this sort of inflammatory language is, in fact, condoned, encouraged and even distributed by the party. And they're calling him dishonest.

POPSWatermelon: Three Juicy Benefits Watermelon: Best Not Chilled Ice-cold watermelon on a steamy summer day really hits the spot. But you'll be best served by keeping it on your countertop until cutting time. Whole watermelons stored at room temperature deliver more cell-protecting antioxidants (specifically lycopene and beta carotene) than refrigerated or freshly picked melons. Here's why A Chilling Effect After it's picked, watermelon continues to ripen and build up antioxidants. Cold temperatures appear to cut this process short. So leave your watermelon out, as long as you haven't sliced it. After it's cut, it should be stored in the refrigerator for food-safety reasons. And don't forget to wash your watermelon before cutting it to avoid this.
