Woman wins lawsuit against drug dealer
TheCatWhisperer
by TheCatWhisperer  1-9-2008    2
Seems to me a bit like suing McD's because your fat. Here's an idea .. You know.. teh drug is illigal for a reason. So instead of blaming your dealer, ans suing him because you were too fucking stupid to no do Meth, how about taking some responsibility... Now, don't get me wrong, the dealer deserves to be punished because, well, he's a drug dealer. But not this way. Its just too stupid. This is the kindof flagerant lawsuite you expect to see in the US, not Canada...

San Fransisco may put a tax on pop & sugary drinks
TheCatWhisperer
by TheCatWhisperer  12-19-2007    9
I've been a proponent of this for a LONG time. I'm not talking about 100% fruit juices, I'm talking about "Cocktails" (drinks laden with high fructose corn syrup & other sugars placed in artificially sweetened drinks). Pop is a key target IMO, it is heavily laces with sugar. Though I think all pop (non-diet or otherwise) should be taxed. The money raised from these taxes should go towards subsidizing 100% pure juices & blends (which still must contain 100% real juice, just not of one variety). I also think tax should be places on all junk foods like chips, chocolates & candies, fast foods, and high-slat/fat processed foods. The money from those taxes should be used to subsidize the price of vegetables, pure dairy & meats (of the non-processed variety). Too many families eat crap because they can't afford good food. I remember this all to well growing up. We lived off kraft dinner, mr. noodles, "fish sticks" and other processed foods because real food was too expensive.

Kind-of extreme... especially the part about the girls asking (and some getting) breast augmentation as young as 13... (also liposuction, etc..) In the paper edition, there was a picture showing Ornela Maria. When I first glanced at the page, I thought she was probably about 16-18... Then I saw 10... There's something wrong when a 10 year old dresses like she's 18... makeup and all... Kids are getting too old too young.. and I'm a liberal.. about as liberal as they come (unless I'm talking about crime & punishment)... but this is wrong.. this kid should be out playing with dolls... But you see this a lot now, young girls, as young as 7 or 8, dressing in clothes that a dozen years ago would likely have gotten the parents a visit from the Children's Aid Society... What the hell is going on???

Sex Change, No Surgery Required

Weird ;) I've never understood the trans-gender thing, but I know (sort of) a couple guys who are. I think this is fine, but I can see some growing-pains and fallout attached. Will see what happens ;) Anyone who frequents bars knows that whichever bathroom has the shortest line is the one you go into... ;)

Smoking found not to help teen girls lose weight
TheCatWhisperer
by TheCatWhisperer  10-26-2006
Nothing more unattractive (to me) then seeing a young woman smoke... They can be hot as hell, and the second they put a cancer stick in their hand it completely turns me off... I dumped one of my exes when i was in high-school because she started smoking. (I mention this attraction as in young women, not teens :P ... as those teens do turn into young women, and often carry over their cancer-monkey behaviour...)

Is Sex Necessary?

by TheCatWhisperer  10-26-2006    3
Cool article... like some of the benefits of sex/masturbation: - Improved sense of smell - Reduced risk of heart disease - Weight loss, overall fitness - Reduced depression - Pain-relief - Less-frequent colds and flu - Better bladder control - Better teeth - A happier prostate? PS.. since this is health-based, I didn't feel it needed to be rated

'Jesus Christ,' 'Raymond' Wife Take on Stem Cells
TheCatWhisperer
by TheCatWhisperer  10-25-2006    4
Hrm.. take the word of some ACTORS.. or SCIENTISTS? At least with MJF, he is a victim of a disease that may benefit from stem cell research, but what do any of these guys have to do with it? One comment on the blog is: " They have a right to their opinions, but they NEVER stated what their reasons really were for opposing stem cell research. ". At least MJF gave his opinion & reasons... Personally, I'd rather see ads from the scientists, lawyers & religious community expressing why they think voters should vote for or against the bill. Actors are not experts, none of them are scientists, nor are they lawyers (playing on on TV does not count), or religious leaders, or at least victims of a disease/sickness (like MJF). I'm not saying they can't have an opinion.. I'm just saying I don't really care about it unless they are directly involved. Personally, I think MJF laid it on a bit thick in his commercial, but at least he's probably done his homework.

Why not just dress them all in football helmets and suites made of pillows.. of wait.. might need bubble suites too so they don't get germs.. Idiotic. Wanna do something for your kids? Bring back sports, art, music, make them manditory... Take ALL fatty & sugary foods out of schools. Taking away play & fun solves nothing.. all it does is make kids look fo another way to get rid of their energy & look to interact. Plus it breeds hostility.. (kids resent not being able to play).
