Living With Different Generations, What We Can Learn?
    Sorgalim
    by Sorgalim  4-8-2007
I found this clip very interesting. We can see how things are so different for all generations. Baby Boomers (ages 43 - 61), Generation X kids (ages 28 - 42), and Millennial kids ( age <27) different opinions. Your have to read it...and see how we can learn a little beet more about Generations. "For Millenials, time is the commodity of value, not money. They "work to live" but their parents "live to work" and Millenials struggle with following in their footsteps. That is, they see the Boomers stress and long work hours and sincerely don't want it. For a Millenial, when their specific portion of work is done, It's time to have fun. Time is the currency of value, not money, and if they work hard it is so they can get time off. They value time off as Boomers valued money. They tend to spend many more years in "young adulthood", the twilight between high school single hood and working parenthood. Many of them wait until they are in their late 20' to get married.

    Pacifier For Smarter Babie's?

I think that each parent have the responsibility for their kids health and this includes what they want to teach them, but as parents they have to know what is going on around with all this information that captures their thoughts. For example, evidence of playing a Mozart CD or sitting the baby down in front of Baby Einstein DVD to have smarter babies. "That a baby's first three years are key for brain development is beyond dispute; scientists know that babies' brains change rapidly, growing and pruning synapses. But Mead says a few early childhood advocates have misinterpreted or misused research to suggest that if parents don't sufficiently stimulate children's brains before age 3, they'll do irreparable harm. There is no evidence that the first three years "are a singular window for growth that slams shut once children turn 3," Mead says." But there's no evidence that playing your baby a Mozart CD or sitting her down in front of a Baby Einstein DVD makes a difference, he say

    Baby Mummy At Museum
    Sorgalim
    by Sorgalim  3-19-2007
A small snippet of the mummy's wrapping tested for carbon dating suggested the child had lived between 30 B.C. and 130 A.D., in Egypt's Roman period around the time of Mark Antony and Cleopatra. Three-dimensional images from CT scans of the child's bones, skull, teeth and body cavity suggested the child lived to be seven or eight months. The CT scans revealed a long wooden rod against the child's back that supported the mummy wrapping. All of the scans were done without having to remove the wrap. Scans detected a hole in the child's skull. The brain, like jelly, would have drained through the hole and out through a nostril as part of the mummification process, Washington University dentist and anthropologist Charles Hildebolt said. The scans also identified small incisions on the left side of the body through which the child's internal organs were removed and placed in jars.

MAJORITY WOULD DIE BEFORE THE AGE OF FIVE

It is difficult for a woman to know that she will have a sick child...I can't understand...They don't have enough help, then why having more babies?...Please, if I'm wrong, tell me because each time that I read this things makes me sad...The article says that mother to child transmission programmes have been slow to get off the ground in sub-Saharan Africa. Half a million babies are estimated to have been infected with HIV at birth or during breastfeeding last year alone. The Zimbabwe study suggests as many as one in four may survive into adolescence. One of the main public health messages, she said, was the need to prevent infection from mother to child during birth and breastfeeding The baby can be protected, but relatively few pregnant women with HIV are offered the chance to protect their baby.

Law enforcement officials had received information from more than one source that the baby was in Clovis, about 100 miles northwest of Lubbock, said FBI spokeswoman Lori Bailey in Dallas. Bailey declined to elaborate because the investigation was continuing. Police in Clovis conducted surveillance on an area pinpointed by at least one of the tips and found the baby in a home with an adult female early Sunday, Hudgens said. The suspect was found at another residence in Clovis, he saidNewborns at Covenant are tagged with a security bracelet, said Stafford, who did not give details on how the bracelet worked. "As soon as the baby and this security piece were separated we were alarmed and knew," Stafford said. "That's what enabled us to be able to get the visual of the pickup." "Clearly we need to take security to a higher standard," she said. "We're not going to rest until we take it up a notch, another level. I don't know that we can ever have anything perfect."

Mom Pleads Guilty To Using Baby As A Weapon
    Sorgalim
    by Sorgalim  3-6-2007
The judge ordered a psychological examination for Graham before her sentencing, set for May 8. The charges carry a minimum of five years in prison because the child was under age 12. Two lesser charges were dropped. Graham's previous attorney had said Graham did not use her child as a weapon, that the boy was hurt during a fight between the two adults and that Graham lied to authorities about how the injury occurred to protect her boyfriend.
