RobertsClips
by RobertsClips  2-17-2009
Amateur Photographers in London have already been harassed by police when taking photographs of such things as railways now they've imposed up to 10 years in jail if there's a police or armed service personnel in the picture. Tourists beware don't take a picture of the Changing of the Guard outside Buckingham Palace unless you're prepared for a long stay.

Gladinet - Rival to MS Live Mesh?
RobertsClips
by RobertsClips  1-25-2009
This is the perfect utility for people who trade a lot of files between their PC and their cloud spaces as it allows you to treat the applications and storage sites like any other local folder or file on your computer. And if you want more information on the intricate workings of your cloud desktop, just pop along to YouTube and do a search for Gladinet. Be aware of a conflict with Skype when installed because it uses the same port. Don't worry though - the error message gives you a link to a trouble-shooting guide that will simply step you through the solution.

Useful for monitoring page changes (WTP) and consistent searches (GA). I use Feedwhip.com which would appear to do a similar job to 'Watch that page'. I'd prefer an RSS feed but will accept email as an alternative. Google alerts sounds useful. Do you use it? What do you think of it?

1 billion people are threatened by starvation.
duvelic
by duvelic  5-18-2007    2
Interview with Erwin Wagenhofer_____ From article: In contrast to people who have too little and starve, we in the industrialized nations should be the happiest people since we have never really suffered from hunger and thirst. Yet we are actually far from being happy and content. What is it that hinders us? When I look around I do not see many happy people, even though we today have such immeasurable wealth. My mother and father, for example, experienced hunger; I am the first in our family who comes from a generation that has not known hunger. Maybe this is due to our considerable need for time to learn to deal with such material wealth. I believe that we need more time than we think is required. A human lifespan is not very long, even if we do live to a ‘ripe old age’. In comparison to the world’s history it is really very short. Maybe we should also be more modest and do everything somewhat more slowly. The pace of life today is killing us. ...
